Waterbrick Down Posted May 14, 2015 Author Posted May 14, 2015 "Sounds impressive. Bit like a paladin, but unlike them ya' look more like a real warrior and less like a plated-up priest. Did the golems 'round here have a master at some point? Is that what set 'em off in this invasion?" "Aye, a summoner of incredible power. Some heroes from a place called "Heroica" took care of him from what I've been told." The vindicator sheathes her sword. En Sabah Nur noticed the dwarf female had yet to put her sword away. Despite the tense situation he couldn't contain his curiosity... "Perhaps having satisfied my duties to the Doctor, I can provide a permanent solution to the golem infestation here. Ms. Thisbeen, was the boats' cargo ever recovered? And what are these gemmed items such as the one you are carrying?" Nur was already beginning to forget a knight's proclivity for tact. "It never was, buried in all the rubble. Any solution would be a good one, the infestation has always caused trouble travelling between the cities." Laurma holds the canister close to her as Nur notices the gem atop the container seems more decorative than the elemental gems displayed on the table across the room. "My brother's ashes thank you very much." "As I was telling you Laurma, the journey is not so perilous and there's much worse than golems in the tunnels. Your brother's ashes would be safe with me, I'd see them to the steps of the high priest of Orrik himself." "It's not that I doubt your ability Dumora, it's just if they were to be lost..."
Peppermint_M Posted May 14, 2015 Posted May 14, 2015 Tesni was not too happy with the proximity of the ceiling but kept step carefully. "Most sorry for the loss." She mumbled. Talk of a vindicator was interesting, but it seemed you had to be invested in a god to have any real strength, not Tesni's calling by a long shot despite her upbringing. "We could help out, if Ladyship doesn't mind." Tesni offered. "More strong arms to escort something so precious can never go amiss."

If golems can be animated so effortlessly with tendrils of dark magic, then it could be surmised that controlling such a horde would be even less challenging while manipulating the element they were created from! "Aye, those Heroicans can be quite formidable..." He took a step back from Thisbeen while Alfred the Seneschal stood by silently as the Party vouched for his behavior. Nur attempted to engage his diplomatic charm. "Yes, we could help you complete your delivery." so that I may have my own GOLEM ARMY! Alfred's head turned slowly towards his master then back towards the dwarfs.

Sandy Posted May 15, 2015 Posted May 15, 2015 The Dwarf ponders for a moment, somewhat taken with Nur's savoir faire. "All the way to Brumpknob? It's quite a journey, tell me what qualifications does your Party boast?" "I am but a humble alchemist, but these three are heroes from Heroica, and extremely potent ones, at that. I hired them to escort me here, but we are all more than happy to help the good people of the three cities while we are here. I would like to be in good terms with your people for the sake of trading, after all. I will guarantee your borther's ashes will be delivered safely in our hands. I swear that by the honor of my guild."
Waterbrick Down Posted May 15, 2015 Author Posted May 15, 2015 Laurma pauses for a moment. "Seems fitting, Lemuel was quite taken with Heroica the last time they were here. His remains are to be laid to rest in the Glittering in Brumpknob." "You can't be seriously considering letting them do this." "I am. Name your terms, heroes."
Sandy Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 "I am. Name your terms, heroes." "We would do it free of charge, Lady Thisbeen. We would only like to know what happened to the last piece of mythril at Meladonna's store. We heard you bought it. These heroes are keen to improve their equipment with mythril, you see."
Waterbrick Down Posted May 17, 2015 Author Posted May 17, 2015 "Ah yes I did, I haven't had the chance to pick it up yet. Most of the mythril going out these days is spoken for, low supply and all that. If you'd be so kind to see my brother's ashes delivered, I'd be willing to part with the piece for 500 gold."

Peppermint_M Posted May 17, 2015 Posted May 17, 2015 "To escort the last of a brave one to their eternal rest is an honour of it's self, but gold is good. If you are happy to part with the sum it would be most welcome."
Jebediahs Posted May 17, 2015 Posted May 17, 2015 "Might the lovely Dumora accompany us as well to...serve as a guide? Unless you know where we can acquire some sort of parchment that charts this elaborate subterranean world."
Sandy Posted May 17, 2015 Posted May 17, 2015 "Yes, a map of the three cities would be most appreciated, Lady Thisbeen. I am afraid we arrived here awfully unprepared... But yes, it seems we agree to your offer. Could you please point us to the right direction?"
Waterbrick Down Posted May 18, 2015 Author Posted May 18, 2015 "Low supply? Damn, I thought this city was pretty much built on Mythril.." "Built on the trade of the metal mind you. You don't think we'd pave the streets with it." "Might the lovely Dumora accompany us as well to...serve as a guide? Unless you know where we can acquire some sort of parchment that charts this elaborate subterranean world." The Dwarf gives a stern look at Nur's use of the word "lovely" but nods, "You better believe I'm coming with. I can only imagine the trouble you lot would get into unattended." "Yes, a map of the three cities would be most appreciated, Lady Thisbeen. I am afraid we arrived here awfully unprepared... But yes, it seems we agree to your offer. Could you please point us to the right direction?" "Very well then, Dumora will be your guide. Stop back here on you're way back and we'll complete our arrangement. It was good meeting you all." With that the Party is ushered outside back onto the docks, Laurma smiling all the way. "I can fetch us a map for the rest of the way. In the meantime is there a/nything else you lot needed to do in Krumpknob? If you've been at the main docks and looked around here, the west side of the city is about all there is left, but not much there except for the Frisky Fish Tavern."
Jebediahs Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 En Sabah Nur grinned. "Dumora, do you have to gather any supplies for yourself? I can have Alfred carry them. Al-Fi-!" Alfred the Seneschal rushed to present himself before the vindicator.
Peppermint_M Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 "I did hear tell of a smithy, a visit would not go amiss."
Waterbrick Down Posted May 18, 2015 Author Posted May 18, 2015 En Sabah Nur grinned. "Dumora, do you have to gather any supplies for yourself? I can have Alfred carry them. Al-Fi-!" Alfred the Seneschal rushed to present himself before the vindicator. The Dwarf gives Alfred a leery look, "I've got a few things to pick up from surplus, but I am quite capable of carrying them on my own." "I did hear tell of a smithy, a visit would not go amiss." "There are nought but paltry smiths in Krumpknob, the best they could fashion is an ornate boat hook. Brumpknob has some of the finest smiths and artisans in the entire underground."
Sandy Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 "I believe we should visit the west side of the city, just to make sure we are familiar with the entire area."
Waterbrick Down Posted May 18, 2015 Author Posted May 18, 2015 The Party heads west, passing a variety of unremarkable houses and establishments until they come upon the Frisky Fish Tavern and duck inside.
Sandy Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 OoC: Wow, where's that mouse-head from? Ellaria crouched a little as she entered the tavern. All the buildings in the city seemed to be half the size of normal houses. She eyed the various patrons and tried to listen what they were talking about.
Waterbrick Down Posted May 19, 2015 Author Posted May 19, 2015 Ellaria and the Party listens in on the tavern and pick up a few strains of conversation. A dwarf in red tunic and uniform hunches over a newspaper. "Sheep snatching monsters? The Eubric Herald is becoming more of Tabloid every day..." At the bar, an anxious Rockling is engaged with the tavern owner. "So there I was, you see. With my back against the cavern wall you see. Though for sure that thing was going to eat me, you see." "You've been letting too much of that Dwarven Ale get to your head, Byrite. Why don't I have one of the clean up lads see you home tonight." Two dock workers are busy discussing their activities from earlier in the day. "Only six barges in three days, if this pace continues I'm going to have to take up fishing like my old man." "Well at least it beats digging in the mines, don't it?" The mouse-headed creature sits at a back table sipping on a goblet of wine and observing the room.
Peppermint_M Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 (Someone is showing off their custom. Mouse Guard right?) Looking around Tesni heard the talk of being potentially eaten. "Sorry, I overheard. It must have been some beast to try and eat you good sir."
Jebediahs Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 En Sabah Nur and his charge made their way to the bar. The mage discontinued his approach shortly before reaching the intended destination. With folded arms he watched the patrons as Alfred completed his task. - "My master wishes to know what you serve here, Barkeep."
Sandy Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 Ellaria approached the dwarf with the newspaper. "I couldn't help but to notice that you get the Eubric Herald delivered down here as well. I am visiting from Eubric, myself. It is nice to know that your people are aware what is happening on the surface. Surely the three dwarven cities will be affected if Uland suddenly becomes a kingdom, don't you think?"
CMP Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 Atramor walked up to the bar alongside Alfred, nodding as the golem stole his question and instead glancing sideways at the Rockling. "Nice hat. What're ya' goin' on about, mate?"

Atramor walked up to the bar alongside Alfred, nodding as the golem stole his question and instead glancing sideways at the Rockling. "Nice hat. What're ya' goin' on about, mate?" The Rockling claps his hat back on his head before taking another drink from his tankard. "It was a Scarlet Worm, you see. The biggest one I ever saw. Nearly the size of a small barge. You see, I was minding my own business just passing the Brumpknob depot when it attacked me. I was glad to make it out of the tunnels alive, you see." Ellaria approached the dwarf with the newspaper. "I couldn't help but to notice that you get the Eubric Herald delivered down here as well. I am visiting from Eubric, myself. It is nice to know that your people are aware what is happening on the surface. Surely the three dwarven cities will be affected if Uland suddenly becomes a kingdom, don't you think?" "Perhaps, but they'd best try and keep their politics to themselves upstairs and not try and bring any of it down here. Can't see how they'd do it though, seems to me they're always squabbling too much to ever make a united nation on their own. No, they'll probably be invaded before they ever organize into something civilized." En Sabah Nur and his charge made their way to the bar. The mage discontinued his approach shortly before reaching the intended destination. With folded arms he watched the patrons as Alfred completed his task. - "My master wishes to know what you serve here, Barkeep." A few of the patrons stiffen as the golem walks inside and to the bar and the female occupant faints. The guard engaged with Ellaria puts a hand on an axe at his belt but remains seated keeping one eye on Alfred. The Rockling and the mouse-like man remain unaffected.
