Peppermint_M Posted July 3, 2015 Posted July 3, 2015 "Nur, why are you after this chap? Oh, and might you know where the others are? Loot's awaiting after all!"
Jebediahs Posted July 3, 2015 Posted July 3, 2015 "This one's brother showed me kindness and I thought to repay him by getting his brother back to work before he's terminated...from his position at the bakery. Not the ending of his life." Nur thought for a moment. "I don't recall where the pirate ventured off to but I know where Ellaria went." He cleared his throat before putting on his best Ellaria impression. "I guess I need to head to the Temple of Orrik first. You are free to explore the city at your own behest, but does anyone want to join me?" "Dumora had the map but I believe the temple is northwest of here."

Jebediahs Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 "I am En Sabah Nur, a visitor to this underground realm. Your brother mentioned you were missing when I stopped by Samwerk's shop earlier. I told him I'd keep an eye out for you while I conducted my business in town. Curious...he said you were dark skinned but I had pictured one with a skin tone similar to my own. Was not expecting a dark dwarf. Tell me how you came to be with your adopted family. Recalling the tale will help you sober up."
Peppermint_M Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 Tesni kept a hold of the odd stone, it might be interesting later. She decided to give Ellaria some gold and the others the silver ore.

Sandy Posted July 5, 2015 Posted July 5, 2015 Ellaria decided to keep the Alchemist Acid, give the Pickaxe to Atramor and split the gold between her and Atramor, giving herself 103 gold and Atramor 102 gold. "Are you alright, sir?" Ellaria asked the archivists after checking if he was still alive. "Dumora, know anything about these dark-skinned dwarves? We should probably cover that hole on the floor before more of them come."

"That is strange, I thought with all the other races of this grand world there would not be internal conflict within a group. There's nothing like an other other to unite a people, as my priestess always used to say." "Have you heard of the three brothers Krumpkin, Brumpkin, and Frumpkin? Tales say there was another brother, an ugly dwarf, one with skin black as coal that stowed away on the brothers crossing. His people hid in the shadows and caves on the edge of society, skimping here, leaching there, never fully welcome among them and so the dark dwarves have always been considered outcasts. Some say his folk made their home further under Uland, near the forgotten submerged temples and ruins of peoples long gone." "That's because there aren't supposed to be any 'evil dwarves' in the archives. Clarissa, are you OK" The metasimian helps the female dwarf to her feet. "Right as rain, Shrooft. I was sorting the shelves when the dastardly dwarves broke through the tile-work and proceeded to pounce upon yours truly. Though how they could have made it through a solid diamond floor, I have no idea. No clue what they would have wanted in here though, let me see." He heads East towards the Bakery but gets distracted and stops at Fodmin's Armory. "I believe I'm all set." Nur approaches the sound of hammers and anvils, the smell of soot and the heat from furnaces greet him as he enters Fodmin's. "Brave soul coming in here, after Odmin's." A dwarf with wild hair approached Nur. "Hello, hello, hello! I'm sure yer here for a sword, ya look like ya could use a good blade, my dark-skinned fellow. I'd recommend a falchion for ya, or maybe a scimitar, or perhaps a cutlass, why not all three!" Edited July 6, 2015 by Waterbrick Down
Jebediahs Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 En Sabah Nur offered Figgle a nervous half-chuckle half-sigh to the dwarf's warning. It only now occured to him that these two shops could be rivals. "Greetings sir. I'd like to view your wares if'n ye do not take issue with my traveling companions the dark dwarf Mister Figgle, the golem Alfred and the battle mistress Tesni...who we must have left back at Odmin's... uh, ooops! Sandy Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 "It looks like the hooligans made off with one of the maps of the underground." Ellaria blushed when she realized the dwarf was actually female. She didn't know they could grow a beard that long... "My apologies, madam, but I don't quite get it. Aren't we underground as we speak? Aren't maps of these tunnels readily available everywhere? Why would the dark dwarves see all this trouble just to steal a map?" Ellaria nodded to the Metasimian that had appeared with Atramor. "Greetings, sir. Fancy meeting a Metasimian down here. I am Doctor Ellaria Arbour, here on Guild of Invision business. And also on a few detours. Which reminds me, Miss Clarissa, I was sent down here to retrieve the genealogies of the Thisbeen family. The late Mr. Thisbeen's ashes were supposed to be stored here in the Glittering, but we have hit a diamond wall of bureaucracy while doing so."

"You're right in that maps are readily available, this one however was a very old piece of cartography drafted during the cities' foundings by the city architects. It gives a lot more information on soil structure, cavern integrity, tunnel dimensions, water table soundings, more so than one could normally fine elsewhere." The dwarf examined the paper-work from Ellaria. "Give me a moment here." The dwarf fished a book off of the shelves. "Yes here we are." After a few minutes of scribbling the archivist handed a completed family tree to Ellaria. "That should do it. So how many of these perpetrators were there?" Edited July 6, 2015 by Waterbrick Down
Sandy Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 "That should do it. So how many of these perpetrators were there?" Ellaria accepted the family tree, pleased that she didn't have to jump through any more hoops to get it. "Thank you for this, Miss Clarissa. I believe there were four dark dwarves, but unfortunately one of them got away. Do you think they were connected with the accidents that have happened in the mythril mines lately?"
Waterbrick Down Posted July 6, 2015 Author Posted July 6, 2015 "Could be. We've been hearing quite a bit about the effects of the price increases on the rest of the economy down here. Mushroom bread is over 3 gold a loaf these days."
Peppermint_M Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 Tesni trailed behind. Brutal weapons and strong armour distracted her nearly as much as blonde hair... A sign saying Fodmin, the sound of hammer and Nur's voice told her she was at least somewhere useful. "Oh! No one told me this place was quite so excellent for shopping!"

"You do not happen to have another copy of the map that the dark dwarves stole? Perhaps we could track them down with it, and get to the bottom of this ordeal your people are facing. Both the Guild of Invision and Heroica aim to help people in need, after all."

"I assure you that as a first time visitor to this city I merely wished to the see the sights Brumpknob has to offer and am unaware of the disreputable areas I should avoid. I too believe a strong weapon is key to a successful defense especially since dwarven craftsmanship greatly surpasses that of the surface artisans to which I am accustomed."

"Too bad. But I have an appointment with the High Chieftain tomorrow, so I will deliver these news to him personally. Take care, Miss Clarissa, and I would still suggest that you cover that hole as soon as possible." She then walked away from the room to return to the receptionist. "Are you coming with me, Atters? And Mr. Metasimian? I have to say, I did consider jumping down the hole to chase the dark dwarf, but with my limited resources and a dozen other tasks to accomplish, it would most likely have been a waste of time. We need to reunite with the others, too, before we get too involved with dark conspiracies." When they reached the entrance hall, Ellaria presented the documents and the genealogies to the attendant. "I believe this should be everything required to accept Mr. Thisbeen's ashes. I would like to add that I just saved your archivist from dark dwarven infiltrators, so I expect that to speed things up." That time Ellaria didn't even have to pretend haughtiness, she was that irritated by having to run fool's errands.
