Jebediahs Posted July 19, 2015 Posted July 19, 2015 A voice echoes in Nur's head. "That and a vial of Alchemist's Acid." The eyes of Nur darted to the left then the right before briefly settling, looking straight ahead. He slowly glanced to the left again before dismissing the fact that he'd heard any voice at all in his head. "Extraordinary, Rip. I hope more passersby and onlookers come to appreciate the craftmanship. It would have been a disservice to myself if I left town without taking a peek at everything in this location. Do you rent the machine out or what exactly is sold in this shop?"

Were you interested in commissioning something?" Edited July 20, 2015 by Waterbrick Down
Jebediahs Posted July 20, 2015 Posted July 20, 2015 "As of now no, though my anguine friend might have use of it. At this time I am simply curious and just looking around. Have you done much work at the Eastern Depot? I'm due to meet with the foreman there soon."

Have you done much work at the Eastern Depot? I'm due to meet with the foreman there soon." "We built the Hulett at the depot, decreased unloading times by nearly 50%. The foreman Xor's a swell chum of mine, say hello for me if you're going out there." Nur glanced around him, he noted a few Dwarves working at a forge near the back of the room, a raccoon headed individual on the second story organizing a library, and a green skinned individual tending to a chemistry set off to his right.
Peppermint_M Posted July 20, 2015 Posted July 20, 2015 Tesni supped her beer and listened out for chatter. Alcohol fuelled talk often shared interesting facts.
Jebediahs Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 "Alright Rip, I will send him your regards. Am I allowed to venture upstairs?" Nur peeks at the forge activity before attempting to head upstairs to the racoon. If successful, "Greetings Friend. Did you witness anything when the device was stolen? Kog mentioned that the thief only took the drill."
Waterbrick Down Posted July 21, 2015 Author Posted July 21, 2015 Tesni supped her beer and listened out for chatter. Alcohol fuelled talk often shared interesting facts. Tesnii noted the Naga leaving with Nur as Ellaria headed upstairs to bed. The Dwarf in the corner and the were-lion throwing darts were trading lively insults back and forth as a Mouse-headed man enters the tavern and makes his way over to the shrouded figure. The two sit facing each other and quickly move their hands back in forth in quick gestures as if having some sort of conversation. "Alright Rip, I will send him your regards. Am I allowed to venture upstairs?" Nur peeks at the forge activity before attempting to head upstairs to the racoon. If successful, "Greetings Friend. Did you witness anything when the device was stolen? Kog mentioned that the thief only took the drill." Rip nods as the dwarf returns to his work on the machine. "Aside from the gigantic hole left from the machine? No, upsetted all of my library though, books scattered everywhere, took me a couple days to put everything back, but nothing missing. Boogie brains downstairs might be interested in talking to you though." A voice once again echos in Nur's head. "Such an ingrate is he not?"
Jebediahs Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 "Yes he is." Nur responded aloud. His brow furrowed in confusion a moment before he went downstairs. "Greetings, you must be Boogie Brains. How have you been inconvenienced by the theft?"

"Greetings, you must be Boogie Brains. How have you been inconvenienced by the theft?" Downstairs, Nur finds a Mind-flayer hard at work with a chemistry-set. The voice echoes again, though he keeps his back turned and his eyes on his work. "Hava, if you please. That idiot wouldn't know the difference between 50 Shades of Bley and Gone with the Winds." The alchemist continues mixing. "Alchemist's Acid, able to nearly dissolve any known material. A vial of it was missing the night the drill was stolen. Why an interest, you don't seem like a member of the city guard." Edited July 21, 2015 by Waterbrick Down
Peppermint_M Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 "Now, I recognise that chap from our rest before the river." Tesni watched carefully. Maybe they lacked the common speech and the gestures matched the mime all sorts could understand.
Jebediahs Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 "Thought projection...neat trick. As for my involvement, I have been known to be a bit metiche but I believe I can help in this matter so made the offer. This Alchemist's Acid...do you brew it here yourself? Something that valuable must be incredibly difficult to make."
Waterbrick Down Posted July 22, 2015 Author Posted July 22, 2015 "Yes, something like thought projection, if that's what you want to call it. My brain simply exists on more than one plane of reality." The mind-flayer turns swirling a flask of purple solution. "The acid is terribly expensive, the amount stolen took me nearly a month to centrifuge. Quite potent stuff really, I doubt the cretins who stole it knew what they took, probably dissolved one of their arms off by now."
Jebediahs Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 "And if I manage to get enough of it back...how much would it be worth to ye?" Nur winked at the mind-flayer. "Heheh I jest. I will keep an eye out for it. Lady Naga, you didn't happen to take the drill did ya?" Nur chuckled to himself. "I do have a lead but my traveling companions are intent on heading straight to Frumpknob without delay even though my intended destination is on the way. I may just head there now on my own. But first let me attempt to check back in with my team." Nur heads back to the Rusty Minecart.

I'll be most interested if you track down the culprits." With that Nur heads back to the Rusty Mine-cart where he finds Tesni and Atramor still lounging about the tavern.
Jebediahs Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 "Greetings companions. I've learned that the Xor fellow may know who has stolen this town's experimental drill. A drill possibly involved with the supply shortage. And he is on the way to Ellaria's meeting! Where is Ellaria?" En Sabah Nur removed his Cobra Nemes and put his Sedge hat back on. He had forgotten the Cyclops' request to leave the golem away from everyone and kept Alfred at his side.
CMP Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 "Went up to bed, mate," remarked Atramor, only half-paying attention as he shuffled through his Decamon Deck, outlining new strategies. "We all ought to hit the sack too so we can get goin' in the mornin'...assumin' it's actually night right now.
Waterbrick Down Posted July 24, 2015 Author Posted July 24, 2015 The Party decides to retire for the evening and after a restful night of sleep all awaken to the sounds of the bustling streets in the morning. Dumora is no where to be seen and the tavern is mostly bare though the cyclops barmaid is busy sweeping the floor.
Sandy Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 Ellaria woke up, refreshed by the good night's sleep. She went to the others. "I am ready to depart for the Temple of Orrik to see the High Chief. Are you still coming with me, Atramor?"
Peppermint_M Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 Tesni looked around. "Wherever has our friend got to?"
CMP Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 Tesni looked around. "Wherever has our friend got to?" "Think she said was only gonna stay us while deliverin' those ashes. Now that that's done, she's probably out." Ellaria woke up, refreshed by the good night's sleep. She went to the others. "I am ready to depart for the Temple of Orrik to see the High Chief. Are you still coming with me, Atramor?" "Aye. I wanna be able to ask around as to where their basalt mines are..."
Jebediahs Posted July 25, 2015 Posted July 25, 2015 Nur looked at his party then shrugged. He headed for the Eastern Depot.
Waterbrick Down Posted July 25, 2015 Author Posted July 25, 2015 (edited) Atramor and Ellaria head for the Temple of Orrik. Upon arriving, the pair are ushered into a small antechamber by an attendant and minutes later are greeted by the high priest of Orrik. "My assistant has informed me that you wish to speak to me on the matter of conversion. Let me be the first to say that Orrik passes no judgement on your race nor your background and welcomes all unto himself. Speak plainly of your needs my children." Leaving Tesni by herself in the tavern, Nur makes his way outside of town to the East Depot. The mage can see the large operation from afar, but is stopped by a familiar Dwarven vindicator chasing after him. "So, thought you and your villainous friends could make a quick escape out of town did you?" Edited July 26, 2015 by Waterbrick Down
Sandy Posted July 26, 2015 Posted July 26, 2015 "My assistant has informed me that you wish to speak to me on the matter of conversion. Let me be the first to say that Orrik passes no judgement on your race nor your background and welcomes all unto himself. Speak plainly of your needs my children." "Here goes nothing..." Ellaria muttered, deciding to come out with the truth. "Greetings from Eubric, High Chief. I am alchemist Ellaria Arbour from the Guild of Invision, but I am also a member of Heroica, like my partner Atramor Gibbin here. Surely you have heard of our organization? Now what I am going to telly you might sound alarming to you, but trust me; we are not the bad guys here. The reputation of the three dwarven cities is at stake here, so please hear me out. We came here under the pretense of merchants, but in truth we were hired to investigate the curious case of your low supply of mythril, despite eyewitnesses saying you have plenty to go around. During our research, we have encountered hostile golems, scarlet worms trained to dig tunnels, and thieving dark dwarves. So far they have stolen a map of the underground and a mythril drill. The trail leads to a fellow named Xor, who we believe might be behind this conspiracy, working together with the dark dwarves. Somebody is stealing your precious mythril from right under your nose, High Chief, and we can help you find out who, if only you help us. Please, is there anything you might add to help us out?" Ellaria knew her move was risky, but she was tired of the pretense. Surely the dwarven leader realized they were here to help.
CMP Posted July 26, 2015 Posted July 26, 2015 Atramor glanced between Ellaria and the High Chief, uncertain that the leader of the dwarven clans would be cooperative, but unsure of how to proceed without his direction. "Help us help you help us all out, mate. Heroica's saved your cities before, they could be at risk again."
Peppermint_M Posted July 26, 2015 Posted July 26, 2015 Left at the quiet inn, Tesni decided to look at the town again. She knew some of her friends were off to the temple, but she decided to return to Fodmins. To be under the ground with stone enemies a risk, she needed some earth elemental power at her side. Another nice axe to put her emerald into would go some way to helping.
