"Wait!" Ellaria shouted as the others left for the depot. "I desperately need to restock my items. I'll catch up with you as soon as possible."

Ellaria left in search of a store where she could purchase potions.

Ellaria hurridly hoofs it back to Brumpknob and quickly finds the Brumpknob Dry Goods. Entering the alchemist is greeted by a friendly dwarf.

"Greetings! I'm in a bit of a rush, but would you accept these Gold Bars in exchange for your items?" Ellaria traded the four Gold Bars for 200 gold. (113+200=313 gold)

She then bought 5 Greater Potions, 2 Phoenix Essences and the sole Bright Polish, leaving her with measly 13 gold. (313-(20x5+50x2+100=300)=13)

"Thank you so much!" She applied the Bright Polish on her Spider Helmet as she ran back to the depot. "Alright, what's the plan?"

With Dumora and the others around, it would be quite difficult for En Sabah Nur to complete his side quest. Especially with Dumora who had just begun to trust the Party again. How could Nur hope to get Odmin's order moved to the top of the list without the mage employing his normal shady guile. A ruse of any kind would most likely be blown by the righteous vindicator. Nur shrugged. "I'm open to suggestions."

"So nobody has a plan? Great..." Ellaria rolled her eyes. Then she stepped forward, holding the High Chief's document, and showed it to the dwarf. "We are on official governmental business. Please state your name and position."

The Dwarf gave a quizzical look and inspected the paper quickly, before standing straight.

"Xor Bixbeard, Eastern Depot supervisor. This is Dixon, station worker." He indicated the dwarf to his right.

"Have you met with any recent delays with your shipments, Mr. Bixbeard? Might I examine your shipping manifest." Nur extended a hand without waiting for an answer. He'd hoped Fodmin's order would appear on it somewhere.

Posted

En Sabah Nur attempted to rely on his diplomatic demeanor. "Mmhm...Yes...No, this is unacceptable. Why are Fodmin's orders not being serviced first? They are of the highest priority. As agents of the High Chief, we need his orders delivered first from now on until you are told otherwise."

Posted

Nur wavers slightly but attempts to maintain his diplomatic posturing. "Ah, but we are hired specialists who travel in the company of dwarves." He pointed to Dumora and her Guard. "The document may indeed only require assistance in searching and seizing but we would appreciate it if you would cooperate with us in this other matter. What would it take for you to move Fodmin's orders to the top of the list?"

"These 'mine carts' are pretty squeaky, I don't know maybe you could 'grease' them up a little."

Posted

"MasterBixbeard, we strongly suspect that you have been collaborating with dark dwarves to steal mythril from the mines. What do you have to say for yourself?"

Posted

What's that curse word Skrall was always using...Sod! "Tesni, provide the 'grease' for this man's 'mine carts' if you please."

"This ain't the time to be squeezin' coin outta this bastard, Nur. He has much bigger problems on his hands right now." Atramor shuffled his Decamon deck idly. "You're at the heart at quite a bit of our evidence, mate."

"Have you fallen off of the mine cart? What's the meaning of this? I don't have any idea what you're talking about."

Dumora pipes up.

"I am curious as well, what sorts of evidence have you found? You mean the shortage isn't from the mines?"

Tesni stood on guard. Investigation wasn't her strong suit, in fact it had been her team-mates with their ears to the ground. "I have heard rumours." She allowed. "But the others have the better evidence."

Ellaria looked at the others hesitantly. Apparently their suspicions weren't as strong as she had thought, but it was too late to back down now. "We have many witnesses testifying for your involvement with the dark dwarves, Master Brixbeard, but the investigation is still going so we cannot disclose any more information. But if you are innocent as you claim, you do not mind us looking around, do you?"

Ellaria attempted to move inside the building behind Xor, desperately hoping they were on the right track.

OoC: Honestly, the pace of this quest has been so slow that many details elude me. If this lead turns out to be a red herring, then I have no idea what to do next. :sceptic:

QM Note: I can see we're all getting worn down by this quest, so I'll see what I can do to liven it up and give you guys some hope, you're actually almost to the solution, but it lies in Frumpknob.

"I don't mind at all."

The heroes begin searching around the depot including inside the depot office. After a good couple of minutes the only odd observation is the cart numbers seem out of order.

17398261021_45a59416fc_t.jpg

"Look we haven't found a thing and I don't know what sort of hunches you folks are going after, but it looks like this one's a bust. If your looking into the mythril shortage, I'd imagine you've been talking to all the dock-workers, the shop-keepers, the miners, right?"

"Curious..." Ellaria muttered, noting the misarranged carts. She pointed this out to Xor. "Doesn't this imply that the shipments are being tampered with? Any insight you want to share?"

"Too many to count, Dumora. Too many to count..." Ellaria sighed. "Unless you have someone specific in mind?"

"It implies that those filling them up at the mines don't care what cart they fill up, looks like they've even got a few missing." Xor shrugs. Ellaria sees that not only are the numbers of the carts random, they don't even seem to be all accounted for ranging from Cart 2 all the way to Cart 78.

"Well it would make sense to me that any shortage would start at the source, so the mines."

"Unusually sloppy for dwarves, from what I've seen. You people sure love your law and order..."

"I take it that the mines are locatedin the last of the three cities, Frumpknob?"

"Some times the carts never arrive at all...There could be dangers along the route to Frumpknob in the form of thieves and fauna. We should prepare ourselves." Nur looks in his satchel and grimaces at its lack of content. "The girl has grown impatient, let us proceed to Frumpknob. According to Dumora's map, we can investigate Fevlin's Trench as well."

"Xor, perhaps we can revisit the arrangement of your shipments at a later time?"
