G1700 Cargo

Hello everyone,

after the project of the Vossloh G2000 (http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=93308) this time I've reproduced the Vossloh G1700 with the Swiss Cargo logo!

Influenced by the presence of the nearby Switzerland I wanted to reproduce this wonderful livery since the lego produced the dark blue windscreens that perfectly fit this model.

As my usual this diesel shunter is equipped with lights, and I planned this locomotive to pull the crane wagon on my layout, enjoy the pictures! :classic:

nice design

Thanks elicend

What light system did you use?

Standard leds 3mm and 5mm diameter, from an electronic shop

I think those grille tiles should be Dark Bley or Black. But that's just me.

I have also tried dark red but there is to much contrast

AWESOME engine 'LT12V'

You're always welcom Tiger!

That's a lovely looking MOC and a great addition to any layout!

Thanks Eurotrash, your opinion is very important to me! :classic:

Really nice 12volt. I made a model of this locomotive in the CARGO liverie more than 5 years ago now. Yours ofcourse is a vast improvement. I like the idea using the old windows for the lights too.

Very nice work building around the PF parts to give the final model such a sleek appearance. It is a ringer for the Swiss locomotive.

Kudos.

I think to know your model ...is it in red and standard blue, with the side windows in black?

Your locomotive is amazing!

You're right, with this model 40% of the work is done by stickers :classic:

This looks pretty slick, but I can't help but think that the model should use the normal blue rather than the dark blue, based on the photo of the prototype you included...

I agree but the Lego hasn't yet produced a blue windscreen ...moreover I love my "dark-knight" version!

Yes this is the one from a long time ago now

I knew this MOC, and for having been built so many years ago is a fantastic model ...but is a push along locomotive?

Lego Train 12 Volts: I really am amazed every time I see a model of yours, and this time it's not an exception! Your models always look so realistic because of the correct proportions (and I'm also a fan of 7-wide  ) and great detail.

Although I probably wouldn't do it myself I like how you always cover the battery box and receiver with stickers, as there wouldn't be a better solution to this problem on such small space.

The only thing I have to criticize is, that the bogies on the prototype look abnormally tall, whereas the bogies of your model are much tinier. I think the bogies on this engine are such a distinctive feature that you should give it a shot to make them taller.

Anyway I'm interested what you'll show us next :classic::thumbup:

Very nice model, you did well.

murican engins look much more masculine than the euros. Im still trying to get used to the fact that we are not the only ones with trains.

But back to your mode. It looks great

What a pity: I've done the impossibile to keep my model the lowest I could :sceptic::wink:

American engins look much more masculine than the euros.

You're right but my knowledge about non-Europeans locomoitves is limited :classic:

Your model looks great, I agree with ScotNick about the bogies

I'll watch more models to convince me :sweet:

A pity you needed such large stickers.

I agree with you but this livery was too cool to limit me by the lack of a battery box with right color

Hey, what an honour ...the home page is too much for me, I can't handle this!

There are many amazing builders here, and see a train on the first page after a long time is an award for all!

Thanks again! :classic:
