Posted April 6, 20159 yr Hola dear AFOLs! I've been working on a new small town this year, which shares a lot of buildings from my former larger town, Soltown. It's still under construction and will probably never be finished since I like to rebuild it from time to time. Anyways, I wanted to share it with you guys and gals. This is how it looks today. I've got some ideas for coming updates, that I'll post here when I've implemented them.
April 6, 20159 yr Such a charming, interesting and busy place there.....neat combo of MOC's, classic town and other misc. themes together......Brick On 'mikaelsol' !
April 6, 20159 yr Is that purple train a MOC of the Pågatågen from the Scania region of south Sweden? I like it just like the rest of your town.
April 6, 20159 yr Author Thanks guys! I love mixing up sets, themes and MOC:s. The pirate ship is used as a tourist attraction, for example. The train is a MOC. A Pågatåg version of the classic 7725-set http://brickset.com/sets/7725-1/Electric-Passenger-Train-Set The train station might be replaced by this summers tram from LEGO ...
April 6, 20159 yr I love seeing the classic sets and styles mixed in with the newer stuff! This is very well done. The MOC train is lovely.
April 6, 20159 yr Awesome! I love that it is a mix of all the different themes and styles, yet it works somehow to create a little town that feels alive.
April 6, 20159 yr Looks great! I really like all the classic sets in the harbor (and everywhere else) mixed in with a lot of great Mocs (cool ice cream stand near the water and shallow buildings along the wall) and nice landscaping (great pedestrian bridge), very nice town!
April 7, 20159 yr Love your harbour side, Dutch inspired housing. Plus a classic fire-station should be the corner stone of any city plan
April 7, 20159 yr Interesting town, you have got there, mikaelsol. I like the mix of old and new buildings as well as your MOCs. Of your MOCs, I especially like the Dutch-inspired buildings at the harbour. I also like the alternative use of of buildings, like the butcher's and the grocery store. Brilliant ideas. Only thing that hurts my eyes a little is the black and white pavement. But that's a detail. I look forward to see the development of your towns and cities.
April 7, 20159 yr Author The black and white pavement is my signum that I've been doing for like 10 years or something so it's not going anywhere :)
April 8, 20159 yr The black and white pavement is my signum that I've been doing for like 10 years or something so it's not going anywhere :) Hehehe... Good idea I can understand why you won't let it go.
April 8, 20159 yr This is great!! I like the wide range of buildings you've used (nice to spot a few of the "classics" in there!!) Your MOCs are excellent too and I like the way you've used a raised section so everything is easy to see. Excellent work!!
April 9, 20159 yr Author Guten Heute alle Leute! Here are some updates that I've made. Some work in the harbor. A lemonade kiosk, and a new station house for the train station. All are based on old sets that I've modified this time. Also got a shipment (with a ship) that I'm going to go and get from the post office today.
April 18, 20159 yr Author Here's the restaurant "Blå Porten" (The Blue door) that I'm currently working on. Especially the kitchen needs improvement, so I'm going to look at how the kitchen looks in the Parisian Restaurant. [/url]
April 18, 20159 yr Do you have any interior in the hotel, mikaelsol? - It looks good with the floors, so the sign is not taller than the building itself.
April 26, 20159 yr Author No major updates, because I'm basically out of space ... I replaces my moc ice cream shop with the old hamburger joint. Put in the electric thingy at the repair shop And now people can see Solville from the sky! (The tree in the background always fall over when I during the day cover the town with blankets, so the balloon is there as a pillar to stop that from happening)
April 26, 20159 yr Yeah, I find that a problem as I build and rebuild.....space. Keep going and Brick On 'mikaelsol' !
