Governor Mister Phes Posted May 3, 2005 Author Governor Posted May 3, 2005 I agree also. More mini-figures, especially the generic ones. Just how many Captain Rogers and King Kahukas were there in the Pirate theme. However, there's also the option of mixing up mini-figure components to create diversity. But for that to happen there needs to be more mini-figures in the first place! Quote
eDeevo Posted May 3, 2005 Posted May 3, 2005 Ed Dot Com hits the nail on the head! Well I agree 100% with him at least... Thank you, thank you *takes a bow* HEY TLC, YOU LISTENING?! Return to the Classics, please... Its only what made you a respectable company in the first place... Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted May 3, 2005 Author Governor Posted May 3, 2005 Weren't other things responsible for making LEGO successful? However, it was the themes in the 80's and early 90's that made it the most fun. In my opinion - which is the only opinion that matters. Quote

True, it was the basic themes from back then that made LEGO successful & fun (as well as addictive ;) )... In my opinion - which is the only opinion that matters. Yes, I am a challenger of authority but that comment has nothing to do with this message board. Its all to do with my ingnorance and belief that LEGO should do what I want, rather than what the majority wants. Quote

Well, I can imagine that you would like a return of the Classic Pirate theme as well, so you are not alone in your 'ignorance and belief' that LEGO should listen to you... Life is Good. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted May 3, 2005 Author Governor Posted May 3, 2005 My belief extends as far as to Classic Castle, Space and Town as well... Though Pirates are my favourites I do hold some interest for these themes as well. Besides, in classical LEGO times many elements were cross compatible with other themes anyway, even some of the more specialised pieces. Pirates was closest to Castle, while Town was closer to space in terms on cross comptability. Quote

Governor Mister Phes Posted May 3, 2005 Author Governor Posted May 3, 2005 That's another issue of mine with all these colours, it also reduces the cross compatibility to a degree. Quote
eDeevo Posted May 3, 2005 Posted May 3, 2005 That's another issue of mine with all these colours, it also reduces the cross compatibility to a degree. Don't be so modest (TLC ain't readin' here ;) or maybe they are, I don't know... 8-| ), it absolutely reduces the cross-compatibility. It makes a real difference to me, because aside from the fact that the newer sets are multi-colored abominations with horribly low piece counts, it is the main reason I buy all of my LEGO off of the secondary market now... except for the occasional super-clearanced set... Governor Mister Phes Posted May 3, 2005 Author Governor Posted May 3, 2005 Modest? I'm not modest for anyone! Especially not TLC. I've sent them many complaints Emails and overloaded their cruddy messageboards with my opinions. However a lot of those didn't get past the modators censorship. I said that because there are many out there that love all the difference colours for some reason or another. Quote

Governor Mister Phes Posted May 4, 2005 Author Governor Posted May 4, 2005 I'm with ya Ed! I certainly don't need a dosen shades of everything. I could get by quite easily on about 8 solid colours plus a couple of transparent ones. Quote
