Lego4366 Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 What makes you say so? A month or so ago I would've agreed, but that was because of Disney Infinity, which was surely always the major obstacle to Disney-owned characters appearing in this game. Now that it's being shut down, though, I can't help but think it opens up worlds of possibilities. Note also that Disney has been open to videogames that mix its characters with ones from other companies before - after all, the whole Kingdom Hearts series is based around that. Because Disney shut down DI and said they think toys to life isn't profitable, and didn't list Lego or WB as a company the would lease their rights too. Quote
Venkefedo Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 Because Disney shut down DI and said they think toys to life isn't profitable, and didn't list Lego or WB as a company the would lease their rights too. They didn't think toys-to-life is profitable for themselves, creating the content internally. That's why all future Disney games will be developed by 3rd parties like EA. WB Interactive/Traveller's Tales could easily become a partner later on, allowing for Disney & Marvel content to appear in Dimensions. Doesn't matter that no such deal was in place when they announced the shutdown of Infinity, nor that we've heard nothing hinting at it since. It's still a possibility, and they might be discussing it right now, with the public not learning of it until documents are signed & trailers/toys are ready to be revealed. Quote
Blondie-Wan Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 Indeed. In fact, I just went back the other day and began looking at various news articles on Disney Infinity's termination. Lots of them talked about Disney being interested in moving away from internal development of their own properties to a licensing model, which if anything sounds like a huge opportunity for LEGO Dimensions to add a bunch of previously off-limits Disney properties. There's certainly still no guarantee, of course, but right now I think the likelihood of Disney properties coming to LEGO Dimensions, starting sometime in a year or two, is better than 50%. Quote
Shishalzafrazz Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 I would love to see Star Wars and Marvel pop up eventually because I love the licenses, but I most want Pirates of the Caribbean and Indiana Jones out of the Disney camp because they seem like the most fun and unique possible Adventure Worlds. Quote
Fives Posted June 19, 2016 Posted June 19, 2016 I simply can't believe all of the new properties being introduced into the game. It makes sense since the game is essentially an epic Warner Bros mash up. ET and Gizmo and Stripe are the standout newcomers simply because the detail on the figures is awesome. When should these be available in stores? I still don't own the game but I need those Minifigures. Quote
CommishGordon Posted June 19, 2016 Posted June 19, 2016 No release dates yet for E.T. and Gremlins. Ghostbusters story pack; Adventure Time level and team pack; Harry Potter team pack; A-Team fun pack; and Mission: Impossible level pack are all due out on September 27! Looking forward to them! Quote
Fives Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 Unfortunate that there is no release date for the Gremlins and ET packs as they are the only ones I'm really interested in. Hopefully they won't make us wait till 2017. Quote
cehnot Posted June 24, 2016 Posted June 24, 2016 (edited) I am not sure if this is the right place to ask, but has anybody began a thread building the various creations found throughout the game so far? Examples: lamp posts, chairs, desks, tables, cars, etc? My fiancee asked me about this the other day and as we begin our expensive hobby creating a town we thought this may be an awesome place to start. Edited June 25, 2016 by cehnot Quote

MarvinM Posted July 3, 2016 Posted July 3, 2016 So I was looking at the new pictures for the Sonic Figure, the one where he is besides Superman. There is an extra figure on the ground, I am like 100% sure she might be Porpentina Goldstein from Fantastic Beasts & Where to FInd Them (Coat & Hat, plus wand fits the look)... could this be a hint to a possible fun pack with her? (considering Newt will probably come solo on his story pack) Quote
Agent Kallus Posted July 3, 2016 Posted July 3, 2016 Thats what they said in the dimension thread in multimedia. Quote
AnnaBuildsLego Posted July 3, 2016 Posted July 3, 2016 (edited) LEGO Dimensions is slowly dragging me in. I'm only interested in the physical pieces and minifigs, so they've always been WAY too absurdly expensive to justify buying anything just for that. However, I finally bought the Portal games in the Steam summer sale, and now I'm addicted enough to those games to consider buying the Portal pack... I'm flirting with a very, very dangerous path here. Also, the new Dimensions Wave 2 packs look superb. I'm very, very tempted by the Goonies and Sonic. Anyway, I have a competition running in my family where whoever picks the team that'll get the furthest in Euro 2016 will win €25, and the only ones left that people chose are Germany (my team) and France (my brother's), so everyone cheer for France to lose tonight so I can get my LEGO Chell. Anonknee Muss Posted July 6, 2016 Posted July 6, 2016 (edited) According to brickset.com, there is two Harry Potter packs set (pun unintended) to appear within Lego dimensions. One is a team pack as you've probably seen and the other is unspecified to what pack type it is and what it contains. http://brickset.com/sets/year-2016/theme-Dimensions Edited July 6, 2016 by J4ck Quote

Anonknee Muss Posted July 6, 2016 Posted July 6, 2016 The other one is supposed to be Hermione, if I'm remembering correctly. Ahh nice! Fun pack by any chance? Also what are these lego dimensions connectables? According to brickset.com there are 5 in total and I have no idea at all what they are. I've done a quick look and I think they are just more packs with no name at all. Quote
deskp Posted July 6, 2016 Posted July 6, 2016 well its not a level pack or a story pack. so that leaves team pack and fun pack, considering there's already one team pack one i'd think it would be a Fun pack yea. cheaper sell- in to the HP dimension. Quote

I'm working entirely from memory here so don't quote me on anything exactly, but I think it is a Fun Pack with Hermione. Odd not to have Ron, if that's the case! Whichever character it is, it's a Fun Pack I believe. I have no idea what those are. Perhaps just more upcoming sets that we know will exist but don't know the titles/content of yet. Quote
