talos Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 I was busy working on a new set the other day, it was a pretty windy and sort of rainy day outside, perfect time to spend building. Well as I am opening up the bags to sort the parts, I realize that I must be statically charged. It was most noticeable with the smaller parts, 1x1's but I would put them on the table and as I got close to the parts, they would move away from me, and even fall over. It was kind of annoying, some parts ended up on the floor. I guess the wind was generating static and was transferring to me, and making the Lego repel! Weird. Has anyone else ever noticed this? dr_spock Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 I don't think I had that happened. You must have the "Force". I've experienced pages in the instruction booklet clinging to each other when it's dry in the house and static charged. Quote
DuckBricks Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 What? That's both scary and awesome! I would want that to happen to me! Quote
torso Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 I've only noticed that new parts will repel each other. It's difficult to make nice stacks while sorting. Quote
MAB Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 I've also found it happen on new sets, when the parts are fresh from the bags. I guess from rubbing inside the bag. Quote
