Posted April 15, 20159 yr Lego Elefant heavy tank destroyer (RC) by Tommy Styrvoky, on Flickr I present my latest model, a 1/18 Elefant Heavy tank destroyer build on the chassis of my Tiger Porsche. I am quite proud of how this model turned out, as this is my second time building an Elefant, my first version build over a year ago, and it was oversized, and suffered from mechanical problems. This version retains all of the functions of the original, but with even more detail, and added functions. This model features suspended bogies on torsion bars for suspension, dual V6 engines with generators and running fans ( this layout is entirely different from the Tiger Porsche's), Led lights, gun traverse, gun elevation/depression, and gun recoil with a servo motor. if anyone is interested in the internals of the casemate and how they function, this video shows them in operation. https://flic.kr/p/s3zNpc old version Lego Elefant 1/15 (RC) by Tommy Styrvoky, on Flickr Lego Elefant heavy tank destroyer (RC) by Tommy Styrvoky, on Flickr as you can see from this photo most of the weight is distributed over the last torsion bar, so this causes the suspension to sink. April 15, 20159 yr Great shape, although it looks a little bit heavy on the rear. Would it be possible to see a picture of the suspension?
April 15, 20159 yr Awesome looking tank, as always. I just love the recoil effect, great idea. Still waiting for a compact firing mechanism, I know you can pull this off :)
April 15, 20159 yr Great work as usual. Lovely cat. A large pictures intensive warning for those of us with slow Internet connections would have been nice.
April 15, 20159 yr Author Here's a better photo of my cat and the Elefant, the other photo was slightly blurry. Lego Elefant und Teddy by Tommy Styrvoky, on Flickr
April 15, 20159 yr Very nice accurate looking model. Impressive amount of features overall, especially like the gun recoil and aiming.
April 15, 20159 yr Cool! I've never seen anyone before who have made a gun recoil function in a lego tank. Impressing!
April 15, 20159 yr Very well done again. Are those 6x6 disks for the road wheels? They look to be a little deeper than that part.

April 17, 20159 yr Author Great shape, although it looks a little bit heavy on the rear. Would it be possible to see a picture of the suspension? For those who were wondering what the internals looked like, here's some photos that were taken during the disassembly process, as I have another model that i am working on that will have instructions for it. April 18, 20159 yr Ok, that was one of the more fascinating build presentations I've seen in a while. You are using a ton of great building techniques, on par with the top builders out there. I also love the combination of studded bricks and modern PF and how well they flow together in this MOC. Thanks for providing the extra information and showing the internals in such detail.
April 18, 20159 yr Absolutely love your wip pics. I really like your building style, and the dual v6 setup is really gorgeous.
