May 15, 20159 yr This looks truly beautiful and captures perfectly the essence of real-life temple sites.
May 16, 20159 yr Brilliant. Those roof tops must have been very difficult to build. Well done, it's a great build inside and out.
May 18, 20159 yr Lovely build, especially in the construction of the rooves and the criss-crossing wooden beams. It kind of reminds me of the castles in the Kurosawa movie Throne of Blood, but maybe that shows how much I know about Japanese architecture... I always think of Tibetan or Cambodian Buddhist temples, so it's interesting to see a Japanese one! it took me a second to realize that the real life comparison photographs weren't part of your model too. Same here - the attention to detail is impeccable. How sturdy is the curved roof, by the way? It looks great, but looking at the process of how you built it I feel like it could be quite brittle (maybe not)? Edited May 18, 20159 yr by The Indivisible Woman
May 23, 20159 yr Author Thanks for everyone)! How sturdy is the curved roof, by the way? It looks great, but looking at the process of how you built it I feel like it could be quite brittle (maybe not)? It's sturdy enough, actually).
