JDL1967 Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 No,no thats just the fun of it. To make it so, that you can hardley see it. I have seen one with the motor vertical in the front seat. That is the easy way. I am so far the the motor is placed and the front and rear backseat are placed back. Now i am waiting for a vieuw parts i Orderd to finish the vw t1 fully rc.. And than the next project lucio's crashtender.. Quote
tripletschiee Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 Lucio, is the drivetrain a permanent 8x8? How many center-diffs did you use? And where did you place them? Quote
Lucio Switch Posted January 3, 2016 Author Posted January 3, 2016 Lucio, is the drivetrain a permanent 8x8? How many center-diffs did you use? And where did you place them? Yes it is. The prototype has a diff between the 1-2 and 3-4 axles, but the high torque gives problems. So there are diffs only on the axles. Quote
JDL1967 Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 Hello Lucio, do you no when the instructions fot the frashtender will be ready, and what the cost will be for the instructions? Quote
leinaud Posted January 17, 2016 Posted January 17, 2016 Hi Lucio, As an airport firefighter myself, I wanted to say that your model is just about the best MOC of an operational Crash-Fire Rescue truck I have seen. Great job! In the military we use Oshkosh trucks but we will be getting a Rosenbauer structural truck soon too. Keep up the good work! -Dan Quote
Kumar Posted January 22, 2016 Posted January 22, 2016 I cant wait for these instructions. This is one amazing build. Quote
Lucio Switch Posted January 23, 2016 Author Posted January 23, 2016 The Instructions are already tested almost half. I can't say when they will be released, but we are progressing well! Quote
JDL1967 Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 Ok thats great news. I am now building the tracktor truck. Great moc also. I am looking forward to the Crashtender instructions. I dont think the costs will be about €. 10,- like the tracktor truck. But evenso i am not an LDD creator, i still understand the amount of time it will take to make them. That told, i will pay the price it takes to buy the instructions for the Crashtender. Just because its a great MOC..!! Quote
Theo van Vroenhoven Posted February 17, 2016 Posted February 17, 2016 The Airport Crash Tender has moved all the way from Italy to The Netherlands! For this journey it had to be disassembled in more than 7000 pieces and rebuilt! Great news is coming! Quote
JDL1967 Posted February 17, 2016 Posted February 17, 2016 Great job!!! Do you build it with only use pictures? If so, thats is an amazing task to do so. Over 7000 pieces, i have to save to build it. Quote

JDL1967 Posted February 17, 2016 Posted February 17, 2016 (edited) Ok a new way to build. But i will wait for the instructions. In the mean time i am working on the Tracktor truck with a new feature, witch will be the first in any technic MOC. And when i have the instructions for the crashtender i will aply that new item also on that MOC. And maybe just maybe TLG will pick it up, and we will see it in there future technic models. WvG_853 Posted February 17, 2016 Posted February 17, 2016 Great! I had not counted on instructions for this MOC, so I am really glad to read that they are in the pipeline. :-) Quote

JDL1967 Posted February 17, 2016 Posted February 17, 2016 Great! I had not counted on instructions for this MOC, so I am really glad to read that they are in the pipeline. :-) Lucio Switch and some members ( sorry dont no exactly who ) are working on the instructions, not me!! I wish i could build instructions for the amazing crashtender MOC. At the moment i am building the Tracktor Truck designd by Lucio, also a great MOC. Quote
Blakbird Posted February 17, 2016 Posted February 17, 2016 Lucio Switch and some members ( sorry dont no exactly who ) are working on the instructions, not me!! Whoever it is must be super awesome. Quote
Lucio Switch Posted February 18, 2016 Author Posted February 18, 2016 Finally the instructions are done! First of all I have to thanks Blakbird for the immense knowledge that helped me to find some solutions to various problems. Philo for the digital version of the non lego parts (air and water tanks). And last but not least, Theo van Vroenhoven, who, with a lot of patience, has tested the instructions! I was really busy this last year, I used most of the time that was normally dedicated to Lego to buying and restructure home . So sorry if it took me some time to do these BI! Anyway that's the link: http://rebrickable.com/mocs/Lucioswitch81/airport-crash-tender I hope you enjoy! Quote
Theo van Vroenhoven Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 For me it was a real honor and pleasure to work with Lucio Switch! I started the build around Christmas and finished it last week. My estimate is that the build will take somewhere between 20 and 40 hours. There are 15 (!) booklets and each booklet takes around 2 hours to finish. With a model that contains over 7000 (!) parts you have to face some new challenges! Like how to fit the parts + the model + the laptop on the same table! I encourage everybody to take the challenge as I did! It would be nice if tens of ACTs would be created around the world! ;-) Follow the link below for some more pictures of my journey to ACT! https://picasaweb.google.com/105613139724773367616/AirportCrashTender?authuser=0&feat=directlink Quote
brunojj1 Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 This is very impressive! Now just a plane (around 30.000 parts) has to be put next to it ... While other people don´t dare even to dream about such a big vehicle with all the functions, especially the water cannons (!), you just went ahead and built it! More than 7.000 parts put together in one Technic model is incredible and although I won´t build it, I want have the instructions, 15€ is nothing. Thanks for sharing and for all the amazing priceless work! Quote
JDL1967 Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 Awsome job. if i finishd the Tracktor Truck, The Crastender wil be the next build. Quote
legolijntje Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 Very nice work Lucio and everyone who helped! To my surprise I already have 97% of the parts (altough with such a huge number of parts, I'm still missing a few hundered including some more expensive ones). Normally I'd skip these huge models because I'd have to spend a ridiculous amount of money, but this time I might consider it. Sounds like an interesting challenge: over 7000 parts Quote
Duky Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 I will also consider building this model. But it will take some time. Maybe in autumn. Can i use non rechargeable battery boxes or is there "easy" access to them? Quote

Thanks for sharing and for all the amazing priceless work! Thanks for the kind words! The bad thing is that the airplane should be on fire! To be fair, it's 12€, even cheaper than you thought! Very nice work Lucio and everyone who helped! Normally I'd skip these huge models because I'd have to spend a ridiculous amount of money, but this time I might consider it. Sounds like an interesting challenge: over 7000 parts Thanks! I'm not a good Bricklink customer. I build with what I have in my boxes trying to reduce to a minimum the purchase of other parts. Practically, if you have a good collections of official SET; you could have easely most of the parts needed. I will also consider building this model. But it will take some time. Maybe in autumn. Can i use non rechargeable battery boxes or is there "easy" access to them? The Lipo batteries are easy accessible, but they are a bit harder to remove. There should be enough room for standard Battery boxes. But I can't be sure, unfortunately my ACT doesn't exist anymore! For sure you have to rebuild "some" things. Quote
