Posted April 20, 20159 yr Some time ago I have built this: MAN TGS Tipper Truck by M_longer, on Flickr It wasn't bad, but it could be improved. This 2.0 version has the same amount of PF motors (XL for drive, Servo for steering, and L for elevating the dump bed), but elevates tipper bed to back, not to side. AL mechanics and wires (which are awfull to generate in Lsynth, by the way) are presented on this render made by Blakbird: More renders can be found at my Bricksafe: http://bricksafe.com...GS with trailer It may be not visible on the first look, but whole truck has been redesigned and rebuilt from scratch. It has a lot more details, like full cab interior, spare wheel, and working front lights. When first version was presented, I thought that it could be nice to have something that could work with it. I had two loaders, but nothing to transport them. And I decided to built a trailer for that. It is based on 4 axle drawbar trailer made by Schwarzmuller: It has only one function, lowering/raising the rear ramps. It is achieved by single, manual operated small linear actuator. And a bonus; pictures made by my friend, showing this truck with my Volvo L250G in action: And here you can see how it all works: Both models come with full, step by step instructions. You can find them at MOCPlans.com. Example pages:
April 20, 20159 yr I really like the subtle - and the not so subtle - visual improvements compared to the first version! Truly a great looking truck!
April 20, 20159 yr Author Love the smooth lines! Is there any suspension though? Nope. Maybe in the next truck :)
June 18, 20159 yr I built this model last weekend in a custom color scheme and really enjoyed it. I am amazed at how well it drives on only one motor for such a heavy model. It is very large and looks fantastic. The Model Team detail and studless smoothness really make it special. Parts: Front two axles are steered with a servo motor: Main drive is an XL motor: An L motor is used to drive the linear actuator used to lift the dump bed. In my model, the actuator clutch slips and will not lift the bed until it is up about 10 degrees. The wires are all nicely hidden and pass up through the Technic frame into the cabin. The wire on my L motor was too short to reach the receiver so I had to add an additional extension wire. Dual wheels on the rear axles. The chassis is incredibly rigid and strong, built with all studless Technic parts. After this point, almost all parts are regular System parts. Completed truck.
June 30, 20159 yr Currently building this machine, but having lots of problems to tuck away all the cables in the cabin. There simply is not enough room. Any help here?
June 30, 20159 yr Author Currently building this machine, but having lots of problems to tuck away all the cables in the cabin. There simply is not enough room. Any help here? It takes some patience, but it is possible to place all cables behind seats. Believe me, I have done that several times :)
July 2, 20159 yr Currently building this machine, but having lots of problems to tuck away all the cables in the cabin. There simply is not enough room. Any help here? I had similar problems. I also found that since not all motors have the same length wire, my L motor wire would not reach the receiver. I had to add an extra extension cable. But I eventually got everything to fit.
July 4, 20159 yr Hello Marek, Was looking at the partslist on Rebrickable, but all the brown parts from the deck seem to be missing there.
July 4, 20159 yr Author Hello Marek, Was looking at the partslist on Rebrickable, but all the brown parts from the deck seem to be missing there. Look for REDDISH Brown Tiles. They are right before tan z12 gears :) http://rebrickable.com/mocs/M_longer/drawbar-trailer
July 4, 20159 yr Sorry Marek, Don't see now reddish brown tiles in the list. How many and which lengths are used?
July 5, 20159 yr Author Sorry Marek, Don't see now reddish brown tiles in the list. How many and which lengths are used? 16 1x2 and 192 1x4:
July 5, 20159 yr Hello Marek, Found them, must be getting cross eyed, could not find them earlier. Thanks anyway.
August 21, 20159 yr My build is ready! I've created a small video to show the result: My overall opinion: nice to build, good instructions, very detailed model, but... not sturdy at all. A light touch on the truck is enough to make some small pieces drop off. It's even hard to pick up and move the truck! I had to use glue on some elements to reduce my frustration. Several parts are connected with only one or two studs, that's asking for trouble....
August 21, 20159 yr That's odd, I did not find my copy to be very fragile except for the mud guards. Your model and video look wonderful though!

Several parts are connected with only one or two studs, that's asking for trouble.... Very nice :) It is as sturdy as it can be with this level of details. For example mirrors and first steps under the cab could be built like in technic sets, but it would be far more thicker. Truck can be taken by placing hands under the front and rear bumpers. Some parts in this truck can't be connected to the rest with more than 1-2 studs due to way how they are built. But I will keep your observations in mind while creating another truck :)
August 22, 20159 yr M_longer, you build really nice trucks... I have seen your creations on youtube and I like them... If you had time you could build newest Volvo FH16... one of the best looking truck nowdays... :) Max... Edited August 22, 20159 yr by MaxSupercars

August 22, 20159 yr I didn't mean that it must be the Tractor Truck... :) I meant the truck with the front grill and cabin from the new FH16 series... It could be also crane... :) Max... :) Edited August 22, 20159 yr by MaxSupercars
