It had been some time since he had been on the ocean, and longer yet since he had left Avalonia. He had never been to Kaliphlin and felt nervous about it, which irritated him more than he cared to admit. He was glad Christine would travel with him for a while, though he did not want to say goodbye to her. Perhaps it was for the best, however. When told she’d be brought to Kaliphlin, she actually seemed relieved. Osric only hoped the reports coming from Kaliphlin had been exaggerated, and that she would be safe there. Meanwhile, deep in the forest near the Mitgardian border… Erik made his way north towards Mitgardia. He had heard tell that a forest giant had been killed near the Mitgardian border, and the body was just left for the wolves. Giant’s teeth sell at a decent price, if you can find an alchemist to buy them. Seemed like a waste not to go get them. Finding the tracks for the beast was easy enough. However, after following the tracks a short ways, Erik heard someone talking, and he sounded very angry. Hiding behind a tree, he watched and waiting until he saw a man walk by. The man looked like no man he had ever seen before. He wore majestic robes, and wore what looked to be the skull of a basilisk over his head as a helmet of sorts. The man carried a gruesome war hammer, which had to have been the largest he had ever seen. Seeing the man sent a very icy chill down his spine, and suddenly Erik had long forgotten the forest giant, and all his thoughts were focused on how to escape without being seen. I really wanted some kind of water underneath this build. I just couldn't build enough water under the entire build. I tried to "photoshop" some in, but it didn't turn out very well! The ship was thrown together fairly quickly for this part of the story. I really liked the idea of using the eagle for a figurehead, but most of my ship-building bricks are over seas. Whenever I am able to get them back, I'll revisit this ship. Maybe it'll be used in the Brethren of the Brick Seas when that gets going. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed. The story was at least not so long this time! C&C welcome as always. Edited November 13, 20159 yr by MiloNelsiano
April 22, 20159 yr Excellent ship! I really like the eagle at the front and all the boxes on the dock are a great detail
April 22, 20159 yr Great builds MN, very nice job on the ship, excellent figurehead and use of the shields! Awesome figs in the second build as well, hilarious posing and face choices!
April 22, 20159 yr A very nice boat! Great use of those eagle and horse shields! The dock looks really good as well!
April 22, 20159 yr Iclike the smooth look of the ship. And especially the use of the eagle and the shields, but it may could use a more defined railing.
April 24, 20159 yr Nice builds and interesting story! I like the ship, the shields integrated into the sides look very nice!
April 26, 20159 yr Author Thanks for the kind comments. The next chapter is taking longer than expected. Trying to build in someone else's style isn't very easy for me!
April 26, 20159 yr For something that was "thrown together" the ship turned out pretty good. Those colors go together nicely and the pirate ship sails really look good like this. The figurehead is huge but obviously that couldn't be helped considering what it is. I don't think I've seen the bow/stern element elevated at the helm like that before and I'd like to see it from behind. It certainly works from the side. The shields are a nice touch too. I really like your dock/pier. We don't see enough of them and all the boxes and minifigs really liven it up. Water would be nice but we understand. I read the story but the second scene is self-explanatory; good job with the build and the photography. The facial expressions are great. Keep it up!
