Hammerhand Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 (edited) EDIT: Added story The fight for Queenscross eventually spills over into the more elite part of the city, where the famed public baths lie. One of Kaliphlin's upper-class citizens, who had been enjoying a nice bath with his wife, is horrified when Desert King and High Council soldiers burst into the bath area, fighting ferociously. The Desert King's forces eventually overwhelm the small force of High Council soldiers, carrying them one step closer to securing the strategic city of Queenscross for the great Desert King. Not even the pristine waters of the baths, fed by a pure, underground hot spring, can escape the slaughter that rages through Kaliphlin. Two High Council soldiers charge at the unprotected archers, thinking they've found an easy target. They never saw it coming - one of the Desert King's elite Nin-ja, sliding silently down the roof Torgonius, veteran of the Battle of the Wither Woods, has allied with the Desert King. He leads a cohort of men sent to secure the baths. A few extra shots If I win, I nominate O17 as the next war zone. Edited April 27, 2015 by Hammerhand Quote
LittleJohn Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 Fantastic work! I really like that roof and the white accents on top of the wall look great Quote
robuko Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 This is a brilliant build, one of your best so far. First class finishing and posing, and beautiful detailing. Quote
Captain Dee Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 Beautiful! The columns, arches, crenelations, roof, and doors are very good. And of course the pool is splendid, although sadly it's now polluted... I like the gold plates/platters over the doors and the minifig posing is very good. Excellent concept and execution! (no pun intended) Quote
Kai NRG Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 A very nice take on this Warzone, the architecture is superb - to mention one thing, I really like the white covering the top of the wall! I agree with robuko, this is one of your best yet! Quote
Jacob Nion Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 This is your greatest entry so far! There are so many aspects about it I love. At first I find it a great choice of location for the warzone. He wall is wonderful, also the roof. And I like the water with the flowers. Everything is perfectly executed and composed. Really stunning work. Quote
Blufiji Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 You don't even need a story the photos say it all. Outstanding work! Quote
MassEditor Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 Wow, this warzone has produced some amazing entries, and this is definitely amongst the top! Lovely architecture, you really executed the bathhouse look perfectly here. The arches, white tiles on the parapets and multi-level design are all wonderful details. That pool is awesome too, especially with the floating petals and then the blood running into the water. Amazing work, like Blufiji said, this doesn't need words! Quote
Garmadon Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 Fantastic build Hammerhand, excellent job on the roof, wall, baths, doors, pillars, and everything else! Some of my favorite things here are the minifig posing and the white outline on the crenelations! Quote
Hammerhand Posted April 27, 2015 Author Posted April 27, 2015 Thanks so much for the great comments guys, I really appreciate it! I had a lot of fun with this build, even if I was a bit rushed to get it in. Also, I added the 'story' to the first post. Quote
Umbra-Manis Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 Sweet build! I really like the guy sliding down the roof. Quote
Yzalirk Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 I really like how you used those technic cog pieces on the pillars! I also really like the posing here as well. Quote
Balbo Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 Wow, that looks great I like how you made the wall and the roof. The water looks very nice, too. Quote
Lord Vladivus Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 My favourite of your builds! Fantastic work! Quote
mrcp6d Posted April 28, 2015 Posted April 28, 2015 Don't think I can really add anything to the above comments, so I'll just say "good job!" Quote
Gideon Posted April 28, 2015 Posted April 28, 2015 Excellent architecture! I will remember that pillar design Public baths fit very well in the Kaliphlin society in my opinion. A tad too much gray for my taste, but the colorful details make up very well for that Quote
Captain Braunsfeld Posted April 28, 2015 Posted April 28, 2015 I always knew that this "bathing" was something dangerous Great MOC, both scenery and action! Quote
Adair Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 Wait a minute, why is that Ninja wearing a High Council Guerrilla Uniform? Great build! Quote
Hammerhand Posted May 2, 2015 Author Posted May 2, 2015 (edited) Thanks guys! Excellent architecture! A tad too much gray for my taste, but the colorful details make up very well for that Thanks for the advice/criticism Gideon. It's always welcome, especially from one of my favorite builders! Wait a minute, why is that Ninja wearing a High Council Guerrilla Uniform? Great build! Haha, it's also my light cavalry uniform - the Nin-ja of the Desert King are a bit different than the classic ninja… Edited May 2, 2015 by Hammerhand Quote
soccerkid6 Posted May 3, 2015 Posted May 3, 2015 Lovely architecture and detailing The gear use, roof, and white accents are my favorite parts Quote
LordDan Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 How did I never end up commenting on this? I must have looked at it a dozen times. Oh well better late than never... This is an absolutely fantastic build! I realy love the roof, and the white outline on the crenellations is an awesome detail! The fig posing is also awesome! Quote
Hobbythom Posted May 8, 2015 Posted May 8, 2015 Catching up after a short holiday, so many great builds but this ranks among the best of them. Excellent presentation, nicely cut out of a seemingly much larger area. Awesome! Quote
