My table town was lacking a supermarket / convenience store, so I decided to build one. I had some stickers from the Dutch supermarket chain "De Spar" (Door Eendrachtig Samenwerken Profiteren Allen Regelmatig) that I could use, and this is the result:

Upstairs there is an apartment:

Great Dutch Supermarket... "De Spar" .... It's a great building and it looks very good. I wish I could build something like that!

Oh, now that is a very realistic exterior.....neat supermarket and I  the interior of the apartment !

My only suggestion is slightly more realistic supermarket shelving, though I do realise space is an issue.

Still it's wonderful.......totally Brick On 'alois' !

Really nice work, your lego world is coming togther nicely. I like the whole style of your build and the interiors are nice and simple and very effective. Check out lightningtiger's supermarket interiors on his current MOC work for some really cool build techniques etc.

Thanks for all the kind words.

I'm very well aware of all the great buildings Lightning Tiger has made, and his really cool build techniques, but it's just not my style, I'm afraid :classic:

Really great building, Alois. Fits Steenstraat very well. A funny detail is the green sofa, I almost can imagine it in real life, including the green fabric - exactly in that nuance  And you really have bought a lot of white radiator grilles

And I can see that Steenstraat has now actually become two streets with a tram loop. Are you expanding the streets down at the far end of the tram loop?

EDIT: And I just learned something. I thought that SPAR was a German chain, but I see it is actually Dutch.

A lovely building, inside and out. The architecture is interesting and very realistic, I like the olive green/white combination, and you've got some very nice interior details as well, like the sofa and chair. Well built - but that's hardly a surprise, coming from someone with your portfolio :)

I'm afraid the quality of my photo's isn't high enough, because it's dark tan and not olive green... Check the interior photograph of the olive green sofa against the dark tan wall, you'll see the difference. Olive green wouldn't be very realistic for a western European town (that's exactly the reason I haven't bought the Parisian Restaurant yet).

Another brilliant one.

I love the facade in white, dark tan and dark gray.

I expected the grille plates to be off-putting, but they actually work very well as pillar-like structures.

And the fact that it's a "double corner" building is great.

In the store, my favourite parts are the coolers and freezers.

Keep clicking those bricks together!

The building looks very nice both inside and outside. Especially the fireplace room looks very beautiful (armchair, sofa, indian decoration on the wall). Corner bricks on the roof aren't right colour, but everybody is sometimes out of right coloured pieces. :)

Another example that you don't need mayn colors to create a nice looking facade. This one sold me immediately.

My favourite part is the shop interior because to me it's the perfect match between colorful "classic" LEGO and realistic Creator-like modular building style. :)

You caught me. But actually corners of tiled roofs are often clad with lighter coloured lead or zinc.

Oops! I see it now. I guess my mind just saw the same combination as in the PR, as you mentioned...

It's very nice nevertheless :)

Brilliant!! I especially like the interior details! Informative too... There's a SPAR at the end of my road (although it's just a small convenience store) but I never knew SPAR stood for something (or that it was Dutch!).

Nice work!!
