JVM Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 I'm mixed on it. I think fleshy looks better, but I also think yellow is part of the LEGO style charm, and while we've built up a lot of fleshy pieces over years and years, when it was a new introduction you had a very small pool of items to mix pieces from and it still feels a little weak that sometimes parts are incompatible between regular and licensed themes as a result of this. I'm fine with the status quo as it is now, but I have to say that I was unhappy with the change when it initially occured. Quote
Sir Walter Maugham Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 (edited) I initially viewed fleshies as an unnecessary abomination, but nowadays, I think it makes since to have Licensed 'figs be flesh toned. It better captures the likeness of the actor/actress or character. But it does break my heart to see all of those lovely PoTC and LoTR torsos are rendered unusable due to the fleshie stain... You people who are saying that the yellow minifigures are "outdated" or that they "should go" are outright blasphemers though. Death by lethal injection of liquid Mega Bloks for all of you! Peppermint_M Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 The increase in variety of face prints (male anyway) means it is something I can work with now. The original change wasn't good in my mind, but I have got used to it. Sometimes when I want a MOC "grounded" in a media property or actual event then the realism added by fleshtones is useful. Although the abstract of the yellow is best in my mind. Quote
