xwingyoda Posted April 16, 2005 Posted April 16, 2005 OK, as promised are the pics of tha tank, ENJOY ;) Lets start by the front: Quote
xwingyoda Posted April 16, 2005 Posted April 16, 2005 Finally, here is a close-up of the area that definitly need to be modified: Quote
The Middleman Posted April 16, 2005 Posted April 16, 2005 Don't see why, it doesn't detract from the set, really. Quote
xwingyoda Posted April 16, 2005 Posted April 16, 2005 Don't see why, it doesn't detract from the set, really. Sure it does not but it looks really bare with a unfinished touch. Its just a matter of putting several pieces all around to have it more complete. Just like the Catamaran, I guess I'm a purist on those details Quote

Quote
The Middleman Posted April 16, 2005 Posted April 16, 2005 Well, it's in the top 20 at Brickset for a number of reasons. The platework is great, the guns are great, and the suspension rules. It's also very sturdy. Quote
snefroe Posted April 16, 2005 Posted April 16, 2005 Master Yoda, what's the resolution you're using? I can't seem to upload photos because they're too large... Bloody Jay, you're right about the tank's strong points, but i think a good set needs to be at least good on all major elements, including cockpit design,... i've never understood why the first X-wing scored so well in the community, even though the landing gear was really a joke, there was no ladder to get the pilot on board,... Sometimes, the community is too easily satisfied :P Quote
xwingyoda Posted April 16, 2005 Posted April 16, 2005 snefroe1, I use the smallest possible: 640 X 480 (around 40Kos). Try to set your camera at a lower one and this should work just fine ;) I had the same problem at the beginning. Quote
The Middleman Posted April 16, 2005 Posted April 16, 2005 snefroe, if you look it up, the first x-wing scored very low on Brickset. ;) Quote
xwingyoda Posted April 16, 2005 Posted April 16, 2005 It scored very low at its re-release in 2002 (because people expected more from it) but got a 9.05 when it was released in 1999 ;) Here's the SW ratings: http://www.brickset.com/search.aspx?Query=star+wars Quote
The Middleman Posted April 17, 2005 Posted April 17, 2005 Well, our standards of quality were raised. ;) Quote

xwingyoda Posted April 17, 2005 Posted April 17, 2005 Its definitly not accurate but still provides a usefull indication of AFOLs taste Quote
snefroe Posted April 17, 2005 Posted April 17, 2005 Its definitly not accurate but still provides a usefull indication of AFOLs taste sure... Quote
Wolf04 Posted April 17, 2005 Posted April 17, 2005 Its definitly not accurate but still provides a usefull indication of AFOLs taste AFOLs? Ha, most of the "reviews" are useless and are posted by little dweebs who have nothing better to do. I used to write "small review" like Disgusting or Horrible to Bionicle sets and not give a rating...so it was 0/10. :D I don't do that anymore, just don't have the time. Quote

Until they stopped reviews for BIONICLE because of people like you. ;) And Wolf, let's not throw insults here. I know plenty of cool people that review on Brickset. Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted April 17, 2005 Posted April 17, 2005 I both enjoy reading the reviews as well as posting them on Brickset, esp. when contemplating if I should buy a set or not. I don't waste time reviewing sets I don't like (ie. Bionicle and other newer themes). I rate sets I own and after I build them. I think the majority of reviews are of quality and done by enthusiasts. One gets out of Brickset what he/she contributes. The one thing I never understood; however, is the rating/scoring. They never average if you add up the scores (even when you drop the low and high)? Quote
The Middleman Posted April 17, 2005 Posted April 17, 2005 I think there's already a preset vote of like 5 or 6 or something, so one vote can't make a set go to 0 or 10. Quote
