LieutenantBluecoat Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 Dedication can make you an excellent MOC maker. This is the outpost you've all been waiting for/the one I kept mentioning. Ladies and Gentlemen, Martinet Outpost. Additional Images: Included is a dinghy, which is not too different from my Imperial Dinghy MOC, only that it lacks a lantern and a turntable sail, and has an Imperial Soldiers Flag. Also included is a Sailor, two Imperial Soldiers, and Leutinant de Martinet. I've decided from now on I'll use brick-patterned bricks in my wall designs, so it looks much more detailed than my other MOCs. The first floor has a chest (with 3 red, blue, and green gems.) and a barrel, the second floor has a barrel (Sheesh, why do I always spam barrels?) and finally, the third floor has an Imperial Soldiers flag. The walls now use a design similar to that of the Soldier's Fort's breakable wall, and I'm also using the same Door design as Soldier's Fort. I also used the SNOT technique on the crenellations, and added half of a bridge (I'm going to make another set with the other half, so that you can connect the two sets. Special Thanks To: 1999bug/AnonymousBug for Lt. De Martinet w/ Pupils decal. lomis for Imperial Soldier Torso decals and Backpack-On-Epaulets technique. Captain Braunsfeld, Captain Dee, and again lomis for motivating me to make more MOCs. Enjoy! Quote
Legocity2713 Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 Not very big yet detailed with the masonry bricks and little additions here and there. I'd love this if it were a set as well. Excellent work. Quote
Masta' Blasta' Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 (edited) Awesome MOC! I'm glad that you like the Lt. De Martinet decal. Edited May 2, 2015 by Masta' Blasta' Quote
Captain Dee Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 This would indeed make a very nice official set. It's slightly more detailed than the current fort or outpost but otherwise it would fit right in. TLG probably would only include 3 minifigs in a set this size but that's not a concern. It has enough to be a playable stand-alone set without being too big and expensive. Whether you meant to build something that could be official or not, good job! Quote

Excellent work. Thanks, I still wonder why i didn't use the masonry bricks before... Awesome MOC! I'm glad that you like the Lt. De Martinet decal. Well, I had to use it for something eventually. At least Martinet finally gets his own "Fort", if i should call it that. This would indeed make a very nice official set. Maybe that soldier near Martinet was a bit much, but i felt it was too barren. Also, my aim is to have my sets feel official-ish, and seem like it would be a real set, which is kind of like a goldilocks zone. Not too detailed, not too simple, just like official sets. I'd guess this would be about 10 or 15 dollars, considering its size compared to the twenty-dollar Soldier's Fort. Thanks for the feedback guys! Quote
Captain Braunsfeld Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 Fine creation - LDD gives you the possibility to use white masonry bricks. It would be good to have them in real life lego as well. Brick on! Quote
Rotaser Posted May 3, 2015 Posted May 3, 2015 It is a wonderful nice outpost. One advice though: Add technic bricks on the side with the tower (or even both) to get the option to expand this outpost with several equally sized MOCs to a fort, harbour or something like this. And I am excited to see more of it especially the second half of the brigde ;) Quote
