Asphalt Posted June 13, 2015 Author Posted June 13, 2015 The party stands around the ice pillar discussing their theories on how to remove the staff. Will any of them act on their thoughts? Quote
Mencot Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 (edited) "Aye, maybe that can be tested" Keliim touches the keystaff and the icearound it. He says, "hmm" and looks at Rethinal. "I think thou have something else we could try to use here!" He points at the pickaxe. OoC: Just waiting on Rcon0 to come online, Keliim is not gonna pull the pickaxe out of the Birdmans backpack, if it even can be used here to break the ice. He have to give some kind of action for it. Rconn0 Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 "Ah, I see ye'r train of thought." RETHINAL HITS THE ICE WITH THE PICKAXE. Quote
Mencot Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 "Aye!" Keliim responces and he watches as Rethinal goes over to break the ice. Hoping that pickaxe actually will be as powerful and sturdy to break the challange. Quote
Asphalt Posted June 13, 2015 Author Posted June 13, 2015 (edited) Ice chips fly as the cleric hammers away at the pillar of ice. The grip on the staff dimities with each swing until finally Rethinal reaches the core of the structure, dislodging an ice colored gem. With its heart broken loose the rest of the ice crumbles away, leaving the Key lying in the center of the floor in a puddle of cold water. LOOT Opal Key Staff (1wp,Ice Elemental, Staff) Opal With four of the 5 Keys in hand, where will the party go next? Edited June 13, 2015 by Asphalt Quote
Mencot Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 (edited) "Ya, great work Rethinal. I guess thou can hold on to the staff and borrow the gem. I habt a feeling we shall be needin them in our quest here, maybe in the last challange! Keliim gives both to Rethinal for the time being. "Lets go south from here, shall we!" He goes to the door leading south. Edited June 13, 2015 by Mencot Quote
Asphalt Posted June 14, 2015 Author Posted June 14, 2015 (edited) Keliim enters an empty room. There are faint signs of battle. Scuffs on the floor, chips of shell and scale, but other than that nothing of note to be seen. Edited June 14, 2015 by Asphalt Quote
Mencot Posted June 14, 2015 Posted June 14, 2015 Keliim enters an empty room. OoC: I am alone now As the part enters the room, there seems that there isn´t much to see. But Keliim decides that the party searches the room before continuing going south again. Quote

Mencot Posted June 14, 2015 Posted June 14, 2015 (edited) Qm note: You are one room to the right (east) of room B on his map. Ooc: I updated the map and included it in post #435 Seeing that nothing happens Keliim thinks that the party will just rest here then. He sits down on his knees, puts his axe in front of him and closes his eyes and says "Whenever we're ready, we'll move". Waiting, meditating... Keliim drifts away again to a dark place. He is again surrounded by the darkness, magic and flickering lights. He is no on a red path walk towards a wooden door... keliim opens it... Edited June 16, 2015 by Mencot Quote

Asphalt Posted June 15, 2015 Author Posted June 15, 2015 Keliim and the party move south to the next room. It appears as all of the others have, save one minor difference. There is an enormous, white eyed spider crouched in the far corner. Which one of you asked for a larger challenge? That is a Cave Spider, a juvenile by the looks of it. The adults have longer legs. Quote
Mencot Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 Keliim looks at the spider and smiles. "This be a real challenge, it looks exactly as the mountainspiders we had back home... Vicious creatures but not as dangerous as the Dread spider." "Aristune, What kind of tactic do thou propose? Try speaking with it, to see if this creature also has something to say?" Quote
Endgame Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 "Well, if it's just a juvenile, I can't imagine it'll be too much of a hassle. Let's take it on... After all, it's just it, right...?" Quote
Asphalt Posted June 15, 2015 Author Posted June 15, 2015 (edited) Now you want me to try the talk first approach. ok umm. Aristune clears his throat, massages his neck, and begins to make some strange clicking clattering noises. Your forest speak is unnecessary Ranger, I speak your tongue. Besides, your accent is terribly. "Well, if it's just a juvenile, I can't imagine it'll be too much of a hassle. Let's take it on... After all, it's just it, right...?" Tell the Child, this one also wishes to taste of its flesh, But I hold it back. Caution him, that if he attacks, I will do so no longer. Hold your hand Terry. It says it is holding itself back. No that isn't right. Something says that it is holding the Spider Back, but if we attack it will not any more. This spider feels like the Bore beetles did. What is going on here? Asphalt Posted June 15, 2015 Author Posted June 15, 2015 Silly one, I know not what you know as common. But such barriers are of little consequence to me. Quote
Endgame Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 "Uhhh... Explain like I'm still in grammar school, please?" Quote
Mencot Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 (edited) Now you want me to try the talk first approach. "Oh well, "Learn from thee mistakes and try to not do them again", is something I try to live by" keliim whispers to Aristune. To spider, "SO, this one speaks. That is something the ones back home didn´t, answer the lads question?" Edited June 15, 2015 by Mencot Quote
Asphalt Posted June 15, 2015 Author Posted June 15, 2015 The giant spider sighs, and you can almost believe that you saw it roll its eyes. It means that when I speak, your mind hears what it chooses to hear. If you are typical of what mages have become in this land, it is no wonder that their bungling has trapped me here. Please complete your task, claim the final key. I wish to be gone from this place. Quote
