Mencot Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 Looking around, waiting but nothing, so quiet in the room that it was getting embarrassing. Finally Keliim speaks up, "Now humor us, oh thou "higher being"!" "What is thither we gonna tell the so call'd "owner of this place" the Caliph, Lord of the Red Court, `bout thee, the being that hath kill'd his personal quard and taken ov'r this place he claims to be his personal grounds? Asphalt Posted June 23, 2015 Author Posted June 23, 2015 (edited) Calamity picks up her staff and looks through the soldier's weapons. Note: The Soldiers only dropped the Party's weapons. Sorry Calamity. Keliim enters the Portal Room at the true center of the Parlor. He strides forward into the light of the chamber and comes face to face with something, beyond what he expected. Though as he looks back through his journey the clues were there. He comes up short and attempts to keep the tremble from his hand as he finally locks eyes upon what he has come to call "the Voice." It speaks directly to him in a voice tripping with the honeyed tones of the dark jungle, and broad Savannah. Welcome Keliim, I have been expecting you. Hidden within the melodic voice is the sound of her fanged mandibles clicking together. If he could not see them doing it he wouldn't even have noticed. The smooth voice continues. Scubacarrot Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 Calamity is content to observe, for a time. The creature is clearly powerful, and she spoke of people that worshipped her. She must be a demon, of sorts. The question now was, how to bind this one to her will? One thing is for sure, you'd have to be incredibly stupid to make a deal with a creature that had a name like Oath Binder. "I assume you picked up my name, lady, and you'll forgive me for not using yours. There's power, in names, and I would hate to fall under your spell and contract the same skin problems as the Falcon Brothers there. Why don't you tell us for what reason you've been toying with us?" These were concepts she was unfamiliar with. The outer realms connect all of the physical planes, they are everywhere and yet nowhere as well. It is through these realms that you children have once again put it upon yourselves to punch holes. How quickly the minds of men forget. Why would you assume these fine men dead. They but serve me, albeit in a limited fashion. I assure you, the dead hold no interest for me, I at least, and no Necrophage. Some of the others in the Realms however have been known to make use of the stray empty vessel. If I were using them, why would I leave them behind. As far as to what I can tel you of your homeland and how you came to be here, what do you offer to me in exchange for this information? You ask for secrets of my home, would you give everyone who asked they key to your back door? I think not. Perhaps at a later date we can discuss the possibility of a trade between us. Clugh fahct muk tah, The woman curses back at Terry for the use of the slur. Do not call me that. Do I refer to you in the terms we used for your mud races at the dawn of your emerging? The manners of the magi have declined as much as their training. The clicking of her mandibles under her speak intensifies as her anger rises. If you must classify me by race in your primitive way, you may call me one of the Lower Ethereals. It was not I that attacked you through the beetles, though I did speak to you after you engaged them. Had you not foolishly charged into their chamber perhaps the encounter would have ended other than you fleeing in cowardice. She takes a deep breath and visibly attempts to calm herself.
