Endgame Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 Terry takes the guano with some... reluctance. "Y'know, Kelilim, I was thinkin' that moving off the farm would mean my new job didn;t entail picking up animal dung..." Quote
Cryos Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 "Might as well git used to it," The dwarf remarked as he began removing his armor and replaced it with his Chiton Breastplate. Quote
Asphalt Posted May 19, 2015 Author Posted May 19, 2015 (edited) That was that, nay challange at all" Then he goes over to the chest and checks it out. It may be the imagination of the heroes, but the entire parlor seemed to grow a little more dim with Keliim's final statement. The big man moves to the corner of the now emptied room. He nudges the dead body aside and attempts to open the chest. Unlike the last time the lid seems to be stuck. It is not locked as that has been smashed, but something is holding it shut. The man hears muffled sounds coming from inside the chest. Edited May 19, 2015 by Asphalt Quote
Scubacarrot Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 "Bugs and bats are all this land this land has, huh." Calamity inspects the body. Specifically the apparent difference in state between head and hands. "Y'know, Kelilim, I was thinkin' that moving off the farm would mean my new job didn;t entail picking up animal dung..." "At least when you used to do it, it was farmwork, now it's a heroic deed." Quote
Asphalt Posted May 20, 2015 Author Posted May 20, 2015 Calamity finds, with some relief, that the reason the dead mans hands are scaley and yellow looking is because he is wearing yellow leather gloves with tiny scales stamped into them. They are obviously part of the Falcon Brotherhood uniform. They might just take the animal symbolism a little too seriously. As she is kneeling beside the body she also hears a muffled noise, coming from inside the chest. Gloves of the Falcon Brotherhood (worth 15 gold to the right fashion forward collector.) Quote
Endgame Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 "So part of our mission was to figure out what was happening to the Falcon folk, right?" Terry says, crinkling his nose at the corpse's rotten sight and smell. "I-I think we know what happened to at least two of 'em... Poor souls. Uh, team? Think there's anyone alive in here, besides the monsters and us?" Quote
Mencot Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 "Damn chest, it be stuck!" Keliim gets up and gives it a kick in the side. "Y'know, Kelilim, I was thinkin' that moving off the farm would mean my new job didn;t entail picking up animal dung..." "Thou know Terry, sometimes this job is also to getting thee hands dirty." Keliim says with a smile. "So part of our mission was to figure out what was happening to the Falcon folk, right?" Terry says, crinkling his nose at the corpse's rotten sight and smell. "I-I think we know what happened to at least two of 'em... Poor souls. Uh, team? Think there's anyone alive in here, besides the monsters and us?" "Yes agreed, this figures out something. The Falcon brothers wern´t killed by the things dwelling in this place and by the look of it the attackers seems powerful, brutal and sloppy. We will hopefuly be seeing them around here, so we can put an end to it." Keliim looks at the chest and the at the mages. "Does anyone of thou two hast a spell to open that thing?" Quote
Asphalt Posted May 20, 2015 Author Posted May 20, 2015 "Damn chest, it be stuck!" Keliim gets up and gives it a kick in the side. From inside the chest the party hears something like. "Hoof Grout Tare." Quote
Mencot Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 "Hoof Grout Tare." Keliim listens to the sound, "Hoof grout what?. There is definitely something in that chest, we ne'd to get it open." The big man says with a grin Quote
Asphalt Posted May 20, 2015 Author Posted May 20, 2015 More muffled noises come from the chest. Now that they are concentrating on the sound they can tell it is speech, just hard to understand. hoof grout tear ell ee hoof oo aah Quote
Mencot Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 (edited) The big man goes more closely to the chest, to try to listen if he can make some sence of the sound. "What that small couldst fit in that chest, what doth thou others think?" he says Edited May 20, 2015 by Mencot Quote
Mencot Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 (edited) Keliim looks at Calamity and laughs "Nay, nay that was not what I meant" Edited May 20, 2015 by Mencot Quote
Cryos Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 "Pah," The dwarf grumbled, lowering his brow at Calamity. Unamused. "I actually 'av an idea," Muradin said as he waddled toward the chest, adjacent to Kelim. "this box jist needs some 'dwarven ingenuity'." Quote
Rconn0 Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 The were-eagle chuckles"You mean a smack with a hammer." Quote
Endgame Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 Terry listens carefully... "I have an idea. Box guy, repeat after me: "the quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog."" Quote

He turns back to the chest and says with a clear and friendly tone "aye we art friends, who art thou and what doeth thou doeth in this chest?" Edited May 21, 2015 by Mencot Quote
Asphalt Posted May 21, 2015 Author Posted May 21, 2015 A few moments after Keliim pronounces their non-hostility to the voice in the chest the lid shifts slightly and opens. Quote
Mencot Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 Keliim moves a bit back when the lid suddenly opens but then he again moves closer to see what actually is in the chest. Quote
Asphalt Posted May 21, 2015 Author Posted May 21, 2015 Keliim edges his face closer and peers over the lip of the chest. Inside he sees A very uncomfortable looking man. If you are indeed the friends you claim to be, and not under the control of that creature, would you mind getting helping me out of this thrice cursed box!? Quote
Mencot Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 "what the bloody..." Keliim thinks. "How does he fit in there?" "Ofcourse we'll help thee. How did thou get in there in the first place and what is this creature thou speak 'bout?" The big man asks, as he at the same time lifts the man out of the chest and puts him carefuly on to the floor. Quote
Asphalt Posted May 21, 2015 Author Posted May 21, 2015 I am called Aristune, but before I answer any of your question I need to know who YOU are and how you came to be here. You are not of the brotherhood, nor of the initiates. How do I know you can be trusted? Quote
Mencot Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 Keliim looks at the man and wonders "how did he fit inside the chest, guess we will find out soon." "I am Keliim, leader of this party. They may introduce themselves." the big man makes a movement with his hand towards the other heros and continues talking "Thou be right, we aint the falcon guard nor any initiates. we are here to solve the mystery of what has happened to the missing initiates. Personally sent by the Caliph. SO my question his who be thee and why be in that chest?" Quote
