That Orange Thing Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 Really like it. Add the black boots legs from batman and he's almost there. Why not use the Tarkin torso from deathstar though? He'd have the correct insignia then. Quote
La Chupacabra Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 (edited) New torso of Imperial Officer is better. It has more details. Edited June 15, 2016 by La Chupacabra Quote
That Orange Thing Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 (edited) I see. I know it has no back printing but I'm not sure how Tarkin is going to maintain the respect of the men dressed as a captain IMG_0815 by That Orange Thing, on Flickr Edited June 15, 2016 by That Orange Thing Quote
Fenom Posted June 21, 2016 Posted June 21, 2016 Back again with a few more updates for Dengar, Mon Mothma, and Padme (Clone Wars outfit) Quote
wesker Posted June 21, 2016 Posted June 21, 2016 Love the updated Mon Mothma. And Padme is a MASSIVE improvement over the original CW figure! Quote
atlas Posted June 21, 2016 Posted June 21, 2016 Cool stuff, what head is that for mon mothma? I've also go padme's head, body, and legs, ready to swap out for a proper looking head. The clone wars prints are just awful, the updated version looks great. Quote
jhaelego Posted June 21, 2016 Posted June 21, 2016 I'm still not quite sold on the dr. who hairpiece for Tarkin. I don't have any pictures to show, but I think the 3L lightsaber blade in trans bright green would be great for Yoda's lightsaber to indicate the length difference between his and other, taller jedi. Quote
wesker Posted June 21, 2016 Posted June 21, 2016 I think the hairpiece itself is fine for Tarkin, just not the colour. Light grey would look better on him instead of dark grey. Quote

Thanks, this is the head I used: http://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=3626bpb0590&idColor=90#T=C&C=90 I think the hairpiece itself is fine for Tarkin, just not the colour. Light grey would look better on him instead of dark grey. I actually tried the light grey, but because of his black eye brows, it looked off, so dark grey fit better imo. I'll try to get a pic later. Most definitely. It's also a good choice for Ahsoka's shoto... trans neon green would be much better for her shoto, but they don't make a 3L bar in that yet. Quote

La Chupacabra Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 (edited) Thanks! In my opinion he looks quite good. In the movie his hairs was more LBG than DBG. Edited June 24, 2016 by La Chupacabra Quote
Ephseb Posted July 8, 2016 Posted July 8, 2016 (edited) Hey guys, I seem to be late to the party, but this thread is a great opportunity to exchange ideas. I really like all the different updates that all of you presented. You can check out some updated and some (purist) custom minifigures I made on Flickr: Here's my version of Mon Mothma: https://www.flickr.c...57662218575634/ I would appreciate it immensely if anyone has suggestions on what heads to use for Wedge (http://vignette1.wik...=20100125190438) and Tycho (http://vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/starwars/images/c/c2/Tycho_Endor.JPG/revision/latest?cb=20150616033024) when they're not in the cockpit. Venkefedo Posted July 8, 2016 Posted July 8, 2016 For my non-pilot Wedge right now, I think I've got this very basic head on him (I don't have a pic handy, but he's made from Han's ANH torso with black arms, ROTJ Han's reddish-brown legs & gunbelt, and normal short tousled black hair). Other options I like are Philip's head from POTC...his brows are dark brown rather than black, but I still think they'd work, and he's got two expressions as well. Another option that seems reasonable and has black brows is the smirking 'clone' head found in a few BPs, Prototype Fett, etc. It's terrible as a clone, naturally, but could work for a serious but friendlier Wedge. For Tycho... it's tough. There are many decent options if you don't mind his brows being reddish brown or darker. His comic appearance fluctuated a lot, so his hair color changes quite a bit and Hasbro's own figure of him (as an A-wing pilot) gave him bright light blond hair, which I'm not too keen on... for something more middle of the road, the Luke head from the Death Star Final Duel could work nicely. Quote
Ephseb Posted July 12, 2016 Posted July 12, 2016 Thanks for the suggestions! The Luke head looks really good, although I initially planned to get it and use it for Mid-40s-Luke (NJO). Now I don't know which head to use for either version of Luke (OT/NJO). I accidentally linked to a picture of Hobbie instead of Tycho, since I wanted to ask about both of them. Anyway, I'm always looking around for new minifig pieces to expand my SWEU palette. Quote

Anyway, I'm always looking around for new minifig pieces to expand my SWEU palette. The 'detailed ANH Luke' head (from the Advent Calendar, Sandcrawler, and Cantina set might be good for an older Luke, what with all the extra lines on it... the previous Luke head (Rancor Pit, Desert Skiff, etc) could be useful for Hobbie... the 'smile' head kinda has a "two fighters against a Star Destroyer?" look to the eyebrows That less-detailed Luke head also has the benefit of being in more sets and a lot cheaper on BL... pretty good generic head for many characters! I just ordered a Sheldon Cooper head to use for a Wes Janson... doesn't necessarily fit with any comic depiction of Wes, but the happy face on him looks like it might fit with the joking nature he had with guys like Wedge & Hobbie. Now to find a good torso for him... Quote
Ephseb Posted July 13, 2016 Posted July 13, 2016 I will see what I can do and if I can find a reasonably priced Final Duel Luke head, because I have all of them except that one and the one with many lines. On another note, since I saw the Dr. Strange set pictures a few weeks ago I'm excited that we'll finally get a great head to create Soontir Fel! Quote
La Chupacabra Posted July 15, 2016 Posted July 15, 2016 Imperial Shuttle Crew: (I have them x2) AT-AT Crew: (+ x2 sw581) Quote
Ebkas Posted July 18, 2016 Posted July 18, 2016 They're too pricey now, maybe, because there's only one Combat Driver available... how many BP AT-AT Drivers' legs would you need to replace, anyway? If it's only one or two, that's not too big a deal (or just get whole Combat Drivers and give 'em plain dark bley legs & leave 'em in the rear ranks or stuck in a vehicle where you wouldn't see leg printing anyway! With plain legs, they still fit the Rebels aesthetic where we sometimes get unprinted legs, as seen in both A-wing pilots they've made based on the show) If you want that AT-AT Driver and your snowtroopers to have different printing, tho, here's another option for the Snowtroopers aside from the AT-DP Driver legs: The football player's legs. They're very plain, but have kneepads, which are pretty much the defining characteristic of snowtrooper legs aside from the boots... from what I've seen, snowtroopers don't have pockets on their pants like the AT-DP Driver legs anyway, so it's a viable option IMO. Plus, they're not too pricey! How did I not see this before? These legs would look much better then the AT-DP drivers legs, and much cheaper! I will definitely look into getting some! In regards to the AT-AT drivers leg printing, I think I'll leave then unprinted for now. Just checking my options. Imperial Shuttle Crew: (I have them x2) <snip> AT-AT Crew: (+ x2 sw581) <snip> Nice! Not sure about the clone head though, it's a bit confusing because of that being designed specifically to be a clone head, even though it looks nice as a generic head. Quote

Not sure about the clone head though, it's a bit confusing because of that being designed specifically to be a clone head, even though it looks nice as a generic head. To be fair, not all clones were infantry. It's not really a stretch to imagine a few shuttle pilots being clones. Quote
