Scouty Posted October 30, 2007 Posted October 30, 2007 That looks awsome! Good luck at that auction Saturday :-) !! Quote
Lt. Col. Thok Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 Very nice! Where is the auction being held? Quote
SirNadroj Posted October 31, 2007 Author Posted October 31, 2007 Woohoohoo! They're great, but surely Bricklink is cheaper than Lego.com 'cos you can buy them at $1 for 100 1x1's (grr! I hate dollars. *Clasps Breast* Rule Britannia, Britannia Rules The Waves! Britons Never Ever Shall Be Slaves!) Where does a 15-year old get $200 to give away, just like that? Good cause though. You must be uber-mega rich or something, not like me *sad* :-$ - I've seen pictures of your collection and it's HUGE! Nothing like mine. Regarding the MOC (Jack, that be) I think the left eye needs a little more shading beneath it...did you glue the plates down? If you did...>:-( A slightly depressed Slazza Actually, I bought 90 1 x 1's for .83 cents on S@H, so I actually got a pretty good deal, but the black peices I had to buy off BL, so the black peices all together cost more than the three shades of gray put together! :-X Well, my family contributed to my cause because I donated the one, but I got enough peices to make another 10 or so, so I'll sell those off (for a profit! ;-) ) I've sold 2 already, and made a considerable amount of money compared to what was spent, so hopefully at the auction, someone will want to commission me. Or that's what I'm hoping! :-P 'Toy Mosaic Artist,' eh? ;-) Well, LEGO is copywritten, isn't it? Besides, I think people can infer by the colours and font, which looks pretty close to the real thing! And for the ignorant people, they'll just be curious, and eventually email me! :-D Very nice! Where is the auction being held? I'm not sure exactly, somewhere nice, I assume! :-$ (In RI, I think.) Col. Whipstick Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 Hot Tomali... What a lot of work! I'm sure they'll fetch a fair price and if you've mapped the tiles you could always try manufacture them again for the next event. *y* Quote
SirNadroj Posted November 3, 2007 Author Posted November 3, 2007 .......and if you've mapped the tiles you could always try manufacture them again for the next event. *y* Well, I never make two of the same mosaics! ;-) I'm about to leave for the auction, so I'll probably let you guys know how it did tonight or tomorrow. ;-) BTW Col. Whipstick: I love your avatar! :-D Quote
SirNadroj Posted November 4, 2007 Author Posted November 4, 2007 I just got back from the auction. I had a great time ~ it was really fun! There were a lot of important people there, including the governor, but it was still great to meet everyone ~ they were super nice! I also had a chance to bid on some things, and I won tickets to the Late Night with Conan O'Brien Show, so I'll be headed to New York sometime next year. But on to the main thing. I may have mentioned my brother made a chess set from polymer clay. That started $500 USD and went for $1500 USD. And the mosaic also started at $500 USD and sold for $1750 USD! I'm really happy for the Tomorrow Fund! They realy made a lot of money tonight! And a lot of people took my card, so I may be getting some commissions (hopefully! ;-) ) Quote
