Hello, I was not alive in the Fabuland era, but I like the figures. They are funny. Anyways, do Fabuland figures have a name besides "Fabuland figs" or "Creepy Animal-Headed Things"?

Also, are the heads of Fabulanders (New word?) removable? Are they supposed to come off or they just...pop off on accident?

Lastly, What colour are the Fabuland Monkey heads? I can't find any colour info on Bricklink.

Thanks,

The heads are removable, but you'd want to do it with care or else you might break the neck or body. I don't think it's like minifig heads, which are specifically designed to be easily removable without breaking anything.

Fabuland characters do have names like Bonnie Bunny.

I think the question was more to do with the collective name rather than individual names for each. And the answer is probably no.

Fabuland heads are absolutely removable, but they are not intended to be removed, so do so with care. I have swapped around some heads on my own figs, it's not very hard. The arms can also be removed and replaced with regular minifig arms if you want to give them arms with rotatable hands :sweet:.

Check out my Fabuland avatar for example, it's not a standard torso/head combination, and the arms are minifig arms.

Legs can also be swapped out by pushing out the pin, but that is more difficult, as those can be stuck really tight in there.

"Cute" is the word you're looking for.

He could be referring to the freaky-eyed second generation Fabuland figs, those are sort of creepy. As for moving the heads around I'd say it's a necessity, all the figs with good torsos have bad heads, and vice versa.

Congratulations on being alive now.

I never knew Fabuland existed until after I had 're-awakened', and I'm glad I discovered said, because that "creepiness" that you refer to, I think, is exactly why Fabuland fans are lifers, afterwards.

And I'm glad I got into collecting certain Fabuland figs and parts while it was relatively an obscure thing to other, non-European, Lego fans. I think, also, that most American Fabuland fans have bought their items from European sellers, (Right?) Not to say that Fabuland is a popular place now, but because Lego collecting in general is experiencing a resurgence that seems to correlate with a trend in the collecting of anything that is of vintage and of value all-around, it too has gained some exposure, and thus interest.

Everything has a very "1940's" feeling to it, doesn't it? That's a large part of the charm - it's mid-century feel.

This is my favorite set. Sadly, I haven't yet searched for one. But I know, now that I do, I'll be paying much more than I would have had I searched for it then, when I initially returned to Lego-ing:

Thank you all for your replies. I feel much more knowledgeable about Fabulandian inhabitants now. I think they're heads are cute, but any animal head on a human body will look a bit freaky. :classic:
