Chewybricks Posted May 6, 2015 Posted May 6, 2015 A review on the dreaded Mega Bloks line. Always a topic of much controversy. The hate towards Mega Bloks is understood cause they use to have a less superior bricking system. However, they've really upped their game recently with bricks being just as good as Lego. And their figures are quite superb. Ultra detail and poseability. If only Lego would update their figures. Chewy wants super poseable Lego Star Wars figures. Not those new brick built ones, but ones like Mega has. In the meanwhile will have to go to Mega for the better figures. Check out the review and make your decision if you still hate them. jodawill Posted May 6, 2015 Posted May 6, 2015 I'm very glad TLG hasn't changed their minifigures. Quote
Chewybricks Posted May 7, 2015 Author Posted May 7, 2015 Thanks Warhawk! Jodawill - You'd rather have a minifigure with limited articulation, less realism and less attention to detail? Quote
Robianco Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 (edited) Thanks Warhawk! Jodawill - You'd rather have a minifigure with limited articulation, less realism and less attention to detail? I'm with Jodawill. I think the Lego minifigure is basically perfect in it's design and it's simplicity. I think on figures of this scale the articulation can take away from the aesthetic. That's not to say mini action figures... which is more of what I think the articulation makes them... don't have a place... I just prefer Lego minifigures as they are. If I want that kind of articulation then I'd start to look at 3 3/4" and 6" action figures. I also don't think there's less attention to detail. I wouldn't want Lego to start adding the kind of detail I have from the Star Wars Black Series figures I have... or even trying to... it's just a different design philosophy. Chewybricks Posted May 7, 2015 Author Posted May 7, 2015 Robianco - Chewy respects your view. Lego figures have much diversification across different themes providing an abundant range of characters giving it an edge on the competition. However, Chewy feels the figures are outdated. Lack of articulation reduces play-ability with children and stance posability with collectors. Chewy is a big fan of Lego, but have got to say MB's new figures are top notch. Understandably, it will be difficult for some to look at other lines figures due to the Lego figures being nostaligic and a staple for decades. Quote
