Norton74 Posted May 8, 2015 Posted May 8, 2015 Hello mates, today I show you probably the last VW transporter of my series, at least for a while... It's a sandblasted T2 bodywork ready to be painted. Below, the bodywork in the workshop... Side by side with my VW T2 pick-up The back... ItLUG (Italian LEGO Users Group) has recently published the complete story of my VWs and of my VW garage. Here you can read the complete story: Volks…heaven: tutti i Bulli di Norton74 Complete gallery: Norton @ flickr All the best! Quote

rm8 Posted May 8, 2015 Posted May 8, 2015 (edited) Amazing idea) May be i should build sandblasted toyota? but, why did you leave front lights? are they fake metal? you should make a signboard "T2 restoring garage" Edited May 8, 2015 by rm8 Quote
MSc Shobaki Posted May 8, 2015 Posted May 8, 2015 Amazing idea) May be i should build sandblasted toyota? but, why did you leave front lights? are they fake metal? you should make a signboard "T2 restoring garage" They are masked in order not to sandblast the glass ;) Quote
Pat-Ard Posted May 8, 2015 Posted May 8, 2015 They are masked in order not to sandblast the glass ;) If so, I'd take some white or tan boat studs... Quote
Edwin Korstanje Posted May 8, 2015 Posted May 8, 2015 (edited) Again a great idea, and fits so good in your garage display . I think your imported the body from California(USA), because their are not find any holes in it . Edited May 8, 2015 by VFracingteam Quote
deraven Posted May 8, 2015 Posted May 8, 2015 The workshop is incredible! Love all the details there. I had the same thought about the lights- I assumed they were meant to be masked, but my first thought was also that they should be tan. Beautiful build! Quote
Norton74 Posted May 11, 2015 Author Posted May 11, 2015 Hello mates, many many thanks for your positive feedback and suggestions. About the front lights, I left them gray for a better aesthetic result... but your suggestion about a tan cover is right and it's a cool idea. Sure I'm going to test it  Quote
darsedz Posted May 13, 2015 Posted May 13, 2015 very nice diorama, both T2 are awesome... T2 prepared for paint will look better with Flat round 2x2... paper masking of glasses will not survive sandblasting Quote
