Since Nickelodeon sponsored a NASCAR race in Kansas City, I think it wouldn't be as weird if LEGO sponsored either one race, or if they could work out a deal with Ferrari/Mercedes/Porche where for some races the car would have the Octan Logo.

What do you think?

A racing team with the octan logo would be super funny!

Haha, that would be awesome!

If Lego does start a racing team, I would hope they do a design contest for liveries. I would love for them to have an annual contest for something like this and each year the cars are styled by the fans. top 2 or 3 designs actually being used as the primary design for the car/cars.

Oh hells yes. That would be perfect. Give the driver a classic minifig smiley face visor.

I think it most sport prototype series you can have two cars with very different liveries, it would be cool if they sponsored one of the cars from a top LM24H team to be the only (or at least main) sponsor in it. The recently sent some minifigs in Soyuz TMA 18-M with the flight of a Danish astronaut, so they should have money for this kind of activities too.

I think sponsoring a racing team costs more than a few figs.

I'm pretty sure Roscosmos isn't using precious cargo space without a paycheck that makes up for it, especially after the failure of recent resupply vehicles they would probably prefer to put other goods.

I presume that in the case of the Danish astronaut, the figs would have just taken some of the limited space that otherwise would have been allotted to him for selected personal effects. A few figs wouldn't take up much more space or mass than a locket or framed photo would, and it's not inconceivable that the astronaut in question might forego some other material comfort in favor of a small token of his native country.

I would think 26 figures does not fit in the personal space of a Soyuz, but I can't confirm it to you...

Chris Hadfileld had a guitar on the ISS.

They can increase prices to cover it if racing sponsorship doesn't drive more customers and revenues.

I think a racing team is the right kind of promotion to draw more revenue for LEGO, specially prototypes.

Spock, don't want to continue with the OT so I sent you a PM.

Yeah but I meant proper racing not NASCAR... Just kidding, nice find.

I'm curious which motorsports you are classifying as "Proper racing" I ask because the only racing that still feels wild and unpredictable is GT racing (Rally too but stage racing is hard to compare to door to door racing) LMP cars are starting to wake back up but they still feel a bit closed off from the rest of the endurance field. Touring car racing is also pretty good but sadly state side its hard to find any races being shown.
