Disco86 Posted May 14, 2015 Posted May 14, 2015 This was built for a contest at our local star wars LUG, we had to builds something coming up in Episode VII. I have choosen a concept picture of a rotten AT-AT at a desert planet. The sand technique was my first try on studless sand, I mostly used parts of the actual Wookie Gunship. So please enjoy the pictures: Greets Disco Quote
Graham Gidman Posted May 14, 2015 Posted May 14, 2015 Terrific work, Paul! Was this inspired by Markus' current project? Quote
Kodan Black Posted May 14, 2015 Posted May 14, 2015 Nice work on the sand, very reminiscent of the scene from the trailer. Quote
GuyDudeMan27 Posted May 14, 2015 Posted May 14, 2015 Looks great! I love the size of the AT-AT. How would it look standing upright and undamaged? It would make a really good midi size model. The sand also worked out really well for a first attempt. Quote
Balthazar Posted May 15, 2015 Posted May 15, 2015 Great job! I like landscape and AT-AT, which is very realistic. Quote
Rishab N Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 Great work. The AT AT looks like it would look good as a standalone model Quote
Disco86 Posted May 16, 2015 Author Posted May 16, 2015 Thanks for your great and motivating feedback. I also thought about building a stand alone model without rust, because the body looked really accurate when it was standing alone. But making a solid construction with these tiny legs may be hard to impossible. Was this inspired by Markus' current project? Yes indeed, maybe we are going to display both together, when he has finished his version. Quote
