How many parts damaged after driving?

After offoroad drive I damaged holes and wheel axles. They was not damaged by friction and heat but with small dust and sand pieces. I knew it will happen, so I did not used Wheel hubs for this model, too expensive for one race.

Another part but was damaged a lot - front skid plate. This lifatarms have big scratches...I am wondering "where?" Ground glearance was enough even while high jumps... :sceptic:

I have tested 2xLiPo with 1 Sbrick - I saw difference in acceleration comparing to 2x Sbricks.

About LiPo: I have two LiPo's with shunted thermo resistor and 2 regular stock Lipo's. I found that in this truck it doent matter which one I used (I changed them during filming). Difference is only when starting with highly loaded wheels: uphill, hard offroad terrain or continous drifting... At flat asphalt and even easy offroad both Lipos (shunted and stock) work the same way and reach the same speed. You shoud know that the highest consumption is at accelearting or when something hold the wheels...High speed is not that situatuion.

Yes, there is little difference in weight:

Double Trouble with 2xSbricks and 2xLIPOs

2xLIPOs = 148 gr

Servo = 45 gr

2xSbrick with LEGO 20 cm wire = 38 gr

TOTAL = 231 gr

BJ Baldwin's truck with RC RADIO UNIT

Radio unit = 171 gr

6x 2050 mAh NiMh batteries (as example) = 172 gr

TOTAL = 343 gr

But on the other hand, controlling such truck with sensor screen is like driving with closed eyes. You can't feel levers/sliders/buttons and can't watch your fingers while driving 10+ km/h. Controlling accelerator is not that hard, but steering is almost unreal: small delays that you can feel only at high speeds, car that easily reach the the border of signal rang. In some footages you can see me running with tablet. I think RC-guys saw this thought am crazy... Sad, but actual versions of SBrick app doesnt support gyroscope controlling (comparing to early beta apps), only touch screen...may be this can help with steering...

I will try some more fast cars with SBrick, but my own conclusion: SBrick at current stage is better for construction machines, Trial trucks, middle scale and supercars with relatively LOW speeds. And thats not a problem at all: most of creations with LEGO Technic is complex and slow. Those who want speed - welcome to the RC shop. So, my truck is look like exeriment/challenge. This is not playable MOC at all and I am going to disassemle it as soon as possible.

Anyways, Smart Brick is very useful and revolutionary product, "must have" for every Technic builder.

Totally with you on that SBrick is not for fast vehicles, I've had enough pain with mine to start considering getting a complete Lego RC buggy, in the hope that steering has much less latency.

I think another good use case for SBricks is when IR receivers are too big or will make the model look odd.

I've read your opinion about s-brick in fast models and now I like my RC-units more and more. :)

You just dont know how to cook them :sweet:

I did not say this was my last fast Sbrick model. I will try to reach 20+ km/h :devil:

Driving this beast is very difficult and funny (max speed reached - 15 km/h)

As I said before, if you want to just to play - RC Trophy Truck will be cheaper, faster, better controllable and stronger. No need top build this one...
