The Undo Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 So much colours, and lovely details. An overall bautiful & amazing MOC! Quote
Loves Houses Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 Wonderful! I love every detail of it. Actually, it reminds me very much of my first evening in Barcelona's old town - ahhhh dreams... the live it runs through it - amazing. The interiors are gorgeous too. Quote
ArchitectureFan Posted May 25, 2015 Posted May 25, 2015 Extremely beautiful. Another "I want to have this myself" MOC! Very well done. Quote
Sir Stig Posted May 25, 2015 Posted May 25, 2015 (edited) This is the first I've seen that I would buy 4 or more. I have to step up my game, If my mocs should remotely hold up. The old city area of my future town will be inspired by this. Actually, Snaillad, can I ask if you would be willing to sell instrutions for this MOC of yours, and a bricklist? Just the buildings is enough. I see it may be a lot more work with the market. Edit: Studied the market more. I like the solution with the base. It opens up for scenes with roadwork etc. I decided right now that I will make my city on plates like this instead of the regular baseplates. So what if It gives me less flexibility, but It looks so much more alive like a real city. I want this, and I want it now*. I love it. I love it so baaaad!* (*song references). snaillad Posted May 26, 2015 Author Posted May 26, 2015 This transported me back to rome or florence, way cool! A burano inspired build from you would be interesting I had never heard of this style before now, perhaps I'm ignorant here, I can see its very bright and charming, it would lend itself very well to Lego. I hope to make something with water in the near future with water so maybe I'll take inspiration from this! Snaillad, your creations are absolutely wonderful! This square is brilliant. The colours, the architecture, the buzzling street scene, everything! I especially like the colour scheme of the nougat coloured building. It looks very authentic. The alley is also my favourite. Would you be able to take a picture of the alley between the cool yellow and medium blue houses? Btw, what do you do with the creations when they are completed? I hope you don't pull them apart! Thanks! I wish I had more nougat I definitely could have used more in this model, it's a very appropriate colour for southern Europe build. To be honest the pics I took of the alleyway were perhaps a little dark and didn't really show it in any great detail, photographing it from the back of the buildings would show a number or sins and general building laziness which was another reason for not including them. In most cases my buildings are only taken apart when I REALLY need the pieces for something else, but I don't have a massive collection of bricks so I'll probably only get a couple of buildings on the shelf before something has to come apart. This is the first I've seen that I would buy 4 or more. I have to step up my game, If my mocs should remotely hold up. The old city area of my future town will be inspired by this. Hi, thank you very much. I don't design using design software unfortunately so I couldn't provide you with any instructions. What I would say is that I did make this in 3 sections which are attached by technic pins. The two buildings at the back are two joined 16x32 baseplates. The blue building is on two baseplates (16x32 + 16x8 joined together). The piazza is made up of a mixture of other plates a bit difficult to describe. I would say that most of this scene is normal stacked bricks and not sideways building of anything particularly unstable. If you look at the 2x2 dark bley tiles you should be able to work out the measurements of everything. The windows are offset in between a two-brick thick wall in every building. I did think about doing interiors and prepped for them but it wasn't really worth it in the end due to a lack of space. Maybe this will be of some help! Thanks so much to everyone for so fantastic comments, I read them all! I am always happy to answer any questions of the construction. Cheers! Quote
Pix Posted May 28, 2015 Posted May 28, 2015 I'm Italian, I found this MOC is beautiful! Do you have a photos from back? (Sorry for my english ) Quote
paostmo Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 I love all of your work. It has inspired me to switch my building style to having an open back, rather than full modular. It makes so much more sense to me. Great colors in this build. Quote
eliza Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 Wonderful scene! Wish I could shrink down and take a vacation there. Quote
Wout Posted May 31, 2015 Posted May 31, 2015 This is a very good Moc, I like it very much. I love the roof terrace, the ice cream restaurant and the little details on the market also very much. You have also a very nice Flikr stream. Quote
guandul Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Amazing work. I love the floor textures. I'd like to see how it look beside a modular model, the french restaurant, perhaps. Quote
Uk_lego_fan Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 Absolutely outstanding! This MOC is the reason I joined up to EB!! Quote
crossmr Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 Great job, what I would do if I had piles of extra bricks laying around! Quote
