Zusammengebaut Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 (edited) Hello, when I have seen the new LEGO City Town Square (60097) first in Nuremberg at the international toy fair, the Tram of this set was really the highlight. Since then, I thought about, how to motorize this train - and if it is possible. The good answer is: It isn't a big deal - and looks really cool. Now, the tram is a kind of 9V highspeed-train - if you want. This is my video - lets start the journey: What do you think? Best wishes Andres Edited May 19, 2015 by Zusammengebaut Quote
davidmull Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 Nice job well done. I wonder if it could be done using power functions. Quote
Zusammengebaut Posted May 19, 2015 Author Posted May 19, 2015 Thank you for your feedback. Some folks asked me, which changes I have made. So I have uploaded a kind of tutorial with a lot of images - to show, which bricks I have used. It is very simple with a 9V engine. And could be more complicated with the power functions. Quote
dr_spock Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 Nice videos and purple thumb bandage in your other video. How did you get the Town Square set so soon? Nice job well done. I wonder if it could be done using power functions. Looks like there is room for the PF train motor, IR receiver and battery box. You'll probably lose the seating arrangement in at least one of the cars. Quote
marook Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 Great! Maybe a double-set with the battery box in the bike-area... ;-) Quote
Nacho Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 That looks great, when does this set get released in the UK? Quote
THERIZE Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 That is nor REALY fast. The trains that are driving in my home town are called 'sneltrams' and it basically means fast trams. Don't know why, they are just normal EMU's. Sorry i need to stay on topic:) Quote
