Actionfigure Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 Hello, I was a little bit confused about the right place for this topic. Should it be in the Historic Themes forum, the Special Themes forum or here. This is not especially pirate stuff (Although Sir Francis Drake, for example, certainly had some of these!) You always needed a dagger for the italien way of fencing. Quote
Kolonialbeamter Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 Well, they don't not fit here, so leave them with us, they'll be safeguarded by swashbuckling pirates and worse scum... so no better place than this! Wow, great idea and even better execution. Simply stunning. I instantly want to build and carry them around all day. One thing though, next time better post MOCs in the Pirate MOCs subforum. Are you planning on building firearms as well? Best regards Quote
Guybrick Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 Looks really nice! How stable are they? I tried something similar in the past, but I wasn't able to "use it" as intended. I couldn't even lift it without the risk, that it falls apart. And I'm no fan of glue. Quote

Are you planning on building firearms as well? Best regards Thank you very much! Unforunately, I can´t switch the forum! If someone could fix it please. Well, I did not try to build an ancient pistol, yet. But I give thought to it! Looks really nice! How stable are they? I tried something similar in the past, but I wasn't able to "use it" as intended. I couldn't even lift it without the risk, that it falls apart. And I'm no fan of glue. Thank you very much! Unfortunatly it is not that stable. You can hold it, you can make some fencing moves, but you can´t swing it and stop suddenly. The blade appears flexible but the bricks loosen with time. It is just too long. You doesen´t have these problems with the dagger! Quote
Captain Dee Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 Excellent work! Both the dagger and rapier look incredibly realistic. I can imagine that they might be somewhat fragile... but they could be reasonably strong depending on how they're built. I've never really been a fan of large life-size creations (like pirate statues) but smaller items like this always look great. Nice job! Quote
legoguy1984 Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 These are great. Really detailed. Thanks for sharing them with us. Quote
Eggyslav Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 That is one beautiful set of swept-hilt rapier and Main Gauche (that's the traditional name for parrying dagger) you got there, I love it! Quote
Actionfigure Posted May 27, 2015 Author Posted May 27, 2015 Thank you very much for your compliments! Quote
Captain Braunsfeld Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 Excellent work - I also would not know where to put this Quote
Capn Frank Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 I was a little bit confused about the right place for this topic. In MOCs that could be in multiple forums, we usually let the creator chose. And I'm really glad you chose our forum. Train stations are a perfect example. Town or Train? We must have a bunch of new staff or something that they didn't know where this MOC belongs. Since it is a MOC, I moved it into the MOC forum. Great looking swords. These beauties look very real. Quote
dr_spock Posted May 28, 2015 Posted May 28, 2015 Nicely done. Did you use the travis bricks inside? Quote

Thank you for your compliment and for adjusting the forum. Excellent work - I also would not know where to put this Thanks Nicely done. Did you use the travis bricks inside? Thank you! Yes I did. Maybe not the most stable solution, but I tried to simulate profile of the blade. Quote
Horsecreek Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 Vers impressive builds. You could put them on the wall like a Real sword. Quote

Capt. Stabbin Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Very realistic! I feel like I could actually run somebody through with these. Quote
Garmadon Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Superb detailing, the rapier and sword look very real! The handle on the rapier in particular is excellent! Congrats on the frontpage! Quote
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Wow, very impressive work! Beautiful sword! Quote
Kai NRG Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Great shaping on both of these, especially on the handles! Got to love the use of technic bricks on the rapier too! Quote

Staslegomaster Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 You seem to be a great fan of history, just as I am. Your rapier and dagger are well designed. I advise you to creat a gunblade, too - it's a hybrid of a cutlass and a pistol used when there were no bullets available. Quote
