SylvainLS Posted August 18, 2015 Posted August 18, 2015 Looks like your java command was wrong, it couldn't find the main class. Check your classpath parameter on the java command No, the command (and environment) is the same with OpenJRE and OracleJRE and it doesn’t work with the first one but works with the latter. Even if this error message is more often a case of wrong classpath or name, here, it’s a problem with loading the class, not finding it. OpenJRE can’t load it, OracleJRE can. Quote
JopieK Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 I run into an NullPointer Exception with this LXF for part 644 :( more people with the same result on that issue and a solution? LXF Using: Bluerenderer 0.0.0.4beta Quote

LXF Using: Bluerenderer 0.0.0.4beta Tested - the same result here. From what I see in CMD window it is problem with BlueRender part (a.a.a.b.a(Unknown Source)), not SunFlow, therefore only @msx80 can help/explain it here... Edited August 27, 2015 by bublible Quote

LXF Using: Bluerenderer 0.0.0.4beta I tested it, looks like the part triggering the error is a 2412 Grille, which has the strange Color ID 336, which doesn't map to any known color. Maybe it's an obsolete color and an old LXF referencing it? Or maybe i'm missing something about color encoding. Have you done something unusual with that part color ? Quote
Bob De Quatre Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 Yep there is a "white" grille that has an unknown color "336". Quote
___ Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 (edited) Yep there is a "white" grille that has an unknown color "336". Hmm, that being said: are you using LDD mode? Most probably so (there might be some "internal" color of that nr. that actually is not available), my advice is change to LDD EXTENDED mode and change that color to some other color and then try to render it. When I changed it to "normal" white (1 - White) it renders OK> Edited August 27, 2015 by bublible Quote

I might have copied it from another modular (to make sure I used the modular footprint!), thanks! I'll try again :). B.t.w. maybe a better idea to give it a default color when the color is not found instead of referencing it anyway. Quote

Yes, that is a good idea: let's set up some default color (White?) that would be used in case nonexistent color is used in a model. Indeed. What color does it show as in LDD? (i don't have it now) 336 - ???Material336??? BTW: if you see my previous post, guys: I replaced it with normal White and then render was OK. Edited August 27, 2015 by bublible Quote
msx80 Posted August 27, 2015 Author Posted August 27, 2015 Right, see my previous post, guys: I replaced it with normal White and then render was OK. That's not what i asked, what i asked is: what color does it looks when you open it in LDD, so i can choose a similar color. Quote

And that's not the only thing I replayed, look better. To be even more specific: looks like normal white, somewhat more shiny maybe...a tiny bit metallic? Edited August 27, 2015 by bublible Quote
Calabar Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 (edited) Bright Red. But maybe for a rendering another colour could be a better choice, maybe even transparent. EDIT: Oops, I misunderstood. I thought you was asking about the LDD starting colour, in order to replace any unknown colour with the default one. Edited August 27, 2015 by Calabar Quote
___ Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 (edited) Bright Red. But maybe for a rendering another colour could be a better choice, maybe even transparent. BRIGHT RED??? Here in my LDD it is white...? I guess much better would be using such shader that is normaly not used anywhere, so transparent is not the best choice: I would go with CONSTANT SHADER, that is one flat color without any shade that would automatically look alien to the image so one would immediately know there is something wrong. msx80 Posted August 27, 2015 Author Posted August 27, 2015 I have defaulted to regular white, and the program will spit a line of output with a warning. Quote
Umbra-Manis Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 (edited) I Checked my complete color palette file. (Which can be found here) 336 is one of the numbers which corresponds to no color data leaving the colorless white. If you select a part with one of those colors in LDD it becomes invisible until you place it again as well. Edited August 27, 2015 by Umbra-Manis Quote

Well, that seems to be not true at least here on my WinXP machine with the latest LDD version build, where the color mentioned is/looks WHITE - that is: it is not invisible - although I never selected it or anything, just opened up that lxf with such color and right away that material is white...and when I selected it/moved it it still stay white no matter what. iceleftd Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 My color resources say 336 is "Silver Ink" which is one of several similar colors. 331 - Lacquer 332 - Fluorescent Red Ink 333 - Fluorescent Green Ink 334 - Copper Ink 335 - Gold Ink 336 - Silver Ink 337 - Titanium Ink Sadly, I do not know any more details (RGB values, texture, etc.) Quote

Umbra-Manis Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 Then my guess from what I saw in LDD was partly right (white with silver feeling to it) It's not a color. Edit an lxfml of 7 tiles to include the seven colors listed by iceleftd. They will all look the same. Quote

I understand you but it does not change anything from what I said: the "color" I saw for this particular part simply resembled partly the color it suppose to be - that's all I've said there. Quote
TheOneVeyronian Posted August 29, 2015 Posted August 29, 2015 I have a bit of an odd problem when using Bluerender - whenever I have it set to render (which works absolutely fine btw), I've noticed that my Internet browser (Google Chrome) refuses to load any websites. Other programs work just fine when I have Bluerender running in the background though. I wonder why this is, because POV-Ray doesn't affect the running of my Internet browser - and is this problem just me or have other people noticed it as well? It's a problem because I like to browse the Internet while waiting for large renders to finish Using Windows 8.1, latest version of Google Chrome, basically latest version of everything really. Quote

It's a problem because I like to browse the Internet while waiting for large renders to finish I'm going to hazard a guess here. Bluerender will use all the cores in your CPU at full speed while running, using up 100% of CPU and starving other programs (that helps it render faster). Most programs use only one core at a time and intermittently. While Bluerender is running, you can use the Windows Task Manager to find the Bluerender process and change it's priority to Below Normal. Alternatively, you could raise the priority of your browser's process to Above Normal (although Chrome uses multiple processes which makes that more awkward). That will give your browser priority over Bluerender and solve your problem. Quote

That was my original thought, but it's probably not as clear-cut as that, because it's only my browser that pretty much ceases to function while Bluerender is running. I've been able to run LDD, Microsoft Office and even Photoshop (which is extremely CPU consuming, I have it set to use 85% of my PC's power, I think it uses all 4 cores on my PC too) while Bluerender is rendering with no really noticeable problems. But nonetheless, I'll give the priority settings a try and see if it solves the problem. Quote
supertruper1988 Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 Hey Bublible can I add a second light source on the other side of a model? I see many photos that have lights on both sides and I feel that would add a sense of realism to these renders. I read the wiki but I am not sure if I can do this. Quote

Yes, you can add as many lights as you wish, for example you can have 2 Spherical lights like this: light { type spherical color 1 1 1 radiance 10 center 0 50 50 radius 20 samples 64 } light { type spherical color 1 0 0 radiance 10 center 0 50 -50 radius 20 samples 64 } Edited September 2, 2015 by bublible Quote
