-Tilius- Posted December 27, 2009 Posted December 27, 2009 Those green guys though, waste of time, no need for them, it's just an excuse for more aliens. How can you tell if they're a waste of time or not, when you haven't seen Part Two? - Tilius Quote
The Crazy One Posted December 27, 2009 Posted December 27, 2009 How can you tell if they're a waste of time or not, when you haven't seen Part Two?- Tilius I mean that the story would be better if it was just Time Lords. No freaky green dudes. Quote

The Crazy One Posted December 27, 2009 Posted December 27, 2009 But you can't know that when you haven't seen Part Two...- Tilius What? The story would be better if it was just the Time Lords. It's too confusing, they are unnecessary. Quote
-Tilius- Posted December 27, 2009 Posted December 27, 2009 You can't tell if they're unnecccessary because you haven't seen the second part yet. And they hardly make it much more complicated. - Tilius Quote
hewkii9 Posted December 29, 2009 Posted December 29, 2009 There wasn't nearly enough actual plot in End of Time part one for it to be confusing. That said, I really enjoyed it. And I quite liked the cacti aliens, they'll probably play a fair part in Part Two - The Doctor can't fend off six billion Masters and the Time Lords with only Wilf and a possibly dead Donna on his side. You're misunderstanding what I am saying. I am not saying I know that they are uneeded in the plot, I am saying that the story doesn't need them. Before for you say the same as you have said in the last few posts, I know what happens next, and I believe they are uneeded. It's my opinion. Edited December 29, 2009 by The crazy one Quote

Ben Kenobi Mini mod! I am sure KimT has copyright on those lines. I am a huge fan too, I just couldn't remember the spelling! @ Tilius: Don't be so aggressive in your posting. It makes you sound like an arrogant young man. So please don't make this sour, it's such a trivial argument. I know what happens in the next episode because my friends brother is on the production team of DW. Quote

Ben Kenobi Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 I'm not judging the episode. I am saying that in my opinion the Vinvocci were uneeded. This is why I said we should probably discuss something else, because otherwise we'll have a page about whether the VinVocci were necessary or not and increasingly snarky comments. Since this is a discussion topic about Doctor Who, and we're talking about Doctor Who, we are 'on target'. And they're called the Vinvocci. It also doesn't take a 'huge fan' to listen to the dialogue in the episode, anyway. I'll shut up now. Ben Kenobi Quote

The Crazy One Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 Crazy One, is the minifig in your avatar the Eleventh Doctor? No, it's based on me, but now you mention it..... Quote
simonjedi Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 I'm not judging the episode. I am saying that in my opinion the Vinvocci were unneeded. We'll have to see tomorrow (For Uk members), Remember only Donna, Wilf, the doctor and the Vinvocci are the only non master life form on the planet. No. She isn't. I know, i made the post before karen wotsit was announced. I'd still like her to reappear. I'm looking forward to TEOT2 tomorrow (i don't like Doc10) and the specials have been disappointing so far. hewkii9 Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 No, it's based on me, but now you mention it..... Well, from here, the next question would be 'Are you Matt Smith?' I agree about the specials - they've been a bit fun, with some very good moments, but they feel like a wasted opportunity. I remember reading rumors at the beginning of the year about everything - Sea Devils, Ice Warriors, old-school Cybermen, the Eighth Doctor reappearing, and I can't help but think that any of that would have been better than Planet of the Dead. simonjedi Posted January 1, 2010 Posted January 1, 2010 (edited) "GREAT SHOT WILF THAT WAS ONE IN A MILLION " The Vinvocci were useful, Naismith wasn't. Wasn't a fan of the MONTAGE, but it was really good. It was pretty much the longest preregeneration ever. Edited January 1, 2010 by simonjedi Quote

Disturbia Posted January 1, 2010 Posted January 1, 2010 That was quite an awesome episode. Rassilon returns! There was even a Star Wars-esque battle with the spaceship versus the missiles (it reminded me of the Millennium Falcon blowing up TIE Fighters). The ending was surprising too, and who knew it would be Wilf knocking four times (asking the Doctor to let him out ). I also thought that the scene in the alien bar was like the Mos Eisley Cantina, and I at the drunken Adipose. There's also an allusion that Russell Tovey's joining the next season of Torchwood. All in all, it was far better than I expected, and what a great way to go, David. Quote
The Crazy One Posted January 1, 2010 Posted January 1, 2010 (edited) So the Vinvocci were integral to the plot, then...- Tilius Good grief! You can't let anything go. I said I believed that they weren't needed and the story could have done without them. It's my opinion, get over it, okay? Sorry for the tone of that but you really need to accept my opinion. I don't know about you but I fealt slightly underwelmed by the Time Lord's return. Too short lived. I think it could have been a three part episode. I still loved it though, can't wait for my turn.......Matt Smith's turn as the Doctor! Edited January 1, 2010 by The crazy one Quote

Ofcourse it is! I personally think it would have been better if it was just the Master, Doctor and the Time Lords. It is an opinion, so it is a matter of opinion. I said I was underwelmed because I expected slightly more after what I had heard, but I still enjoyed it. I have never had such a pointless argument in my life. Just accept it and please don't bother replying anymore, I am tired of this, and I really have more important things to do But please do tell if I am being unclear. I will try to explain it too you in a clearer fashion. Edited January 2, 2010 by The crazy one Quote
