The Kid Posted June 21, 2008 Author Posted June 21, 2008 So, Turn Left. A good episode, I thought - one of the best of the series. Although the thing on her back was just a giant beetle? Kinda crappy. Trailer for next week looks good. Did anyone hear Davros laugh? Although to be honest, it could be just a big re-union party TK Quote
Andrex Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 I loved that episode so much! And yes, the beetle was tacky and plastic, but I liked it that way. Back to the good old times of artificial giant bugs and paper maché aliens! -- Andrex Quote
The Rancor Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 This episode was much, much, much, better than Midnight! So I see The Doctor and Donna will be joined by Rose, Martha, Sarah Jane (maybe with those idiotic teens), Captain Jack and the remainder of the Torchwood team (what was left after the final episode of Torchwood). I dont know about you guys but I saw the Confidential and Davros was STILL in the shadows for a preview. I guess we wont properly see him until the right Episode. BAD WOLF Quote
Professor Flitwick Posted June 22, 2008 Posted June 22, 2008 I didn't catch the begining, I saw it from the part of the flying saucer shaped like a christmas decoration. I liked the look of next weeks episode, I liked those Rhino like aliens that took the hospitol and put it on the moon. I can't wait! Quote

BAD WOLF Oh those idiotic teens are in it I'm very sure, look at the later faces in the trailer. And so two weeks of Who fans pissing themselves with excitement begins. DAVROS!!!!!! Quote
JINZONINGEN73 Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 Sarah Jane (maybe with those idiotic teens) Not impossible, but doubt they'll be there much. They'd have been plastered all over promo pics by now if they were. EDIT: (Did see Luke there for a quick second). Quote
Pencoin Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 yes luke is defiantley in the episode but i think your being to hard on him, in my belief h is the 'doctor' of the human race Quote
Brainbox Posted June 24, 2008 Posted June 24, 2008 (edited) 'Turn Left' was good. I've always been a fan of 'what ifs' so it was nice to see one in Doctor Who. It was inevitable really, seeing as how the show deals with time travel. So the Time Beetle appears to be one of the Trickster's Brigade. As in, the Trickster from Sarah Jane. And it's always nice to hear the Cloister Bell. Davros sounds great, just right. We may not have seen him properly, but he seems to look fantastic too. The Red Dalek Supreme also looks rather nice. If you look very closely in some of the trailers, you can see UNIT logos behind Daleks. Do they invade UNIT as well as Torchwood? I would say so. Right, speculation time. 'The Stolen Earth' implies that something (Davros?) has taken Earth somewhere, especially as he mentions his "new empire". Now, there have been various references to lost or missing planets throughout the four modern series. Let's say that all these planets have been taken somewhere. Now, what if Skaro and/or Gallifrey aren't lost in the sense of being destroyed, but lost in a literal sense- missing. I know the Doctor said that Gallifrey burned, but still... it's a possibility. Over this series we've had reference to breeeding and new life- the clone race Sontarans, the seeding to create the Adipose, Jenny. First of all, this suggests that these Daleks are being (re)grown from somewhere, perhaps Dalek Caan. Secondly, I wonder if "new life" could reach a certain species from Gallifrey... "The bees are disappearing", "the Medusa Cascade" and "the Shadow Proclamation" are obviously important. It's also been a theme this series of not having all the details about the monsters. What was the creature on Midnight? The Time Beetle was only identified as one of the Trickster's Brigade by behind-the-scenes information from the BBC. We didn't technically see the Vashta Nerada. The Sontarans used duplicitous clones and it's unclear as to who the monsters are in Planet of the Ood. Perhaps there's mpre to the series finale than we know? Perhaps there's one final surprise to reveal? Oh, I can't wait. EDIT: Exclusive preview of The Stolen Earth from the BBC: Edited June 25, 2008 by Brainbox Quote
Pencoin Posted June 25, 2008 Posted June 25, 2008 i was thinking that the doctor lied abotu gallifrey buring the beast said 'killer of your own kind' guilt = lies? Quote
Brainbox Posted June 25, 2008 Posted June 25, 2008 i was thinking that the doctor lied abotu gallifrey buringthe beast said 'killer of your own kind' I think he said at some point that he made Gallifrey burn, and that the Daleks burned with it. So maybe the Daleks attacked Gallifrey directly, and he was forced to destroy the planet to prevent the Daleks from taking control of the Eye of Harmony, the Matrix and the Rod of Rassilon. Quote
Pencoin Posted June 28, 2008 Posted June 28, 2008 this is a bit off topic but i was wondering has anyone read the doctorwho novels based on the new series, there a good read even if they are aimed at kids Quote
