JINZONINGEN73 Posted June 29, 2008 Posted June 29, 2008 not really one goes to petes world I'd love to see him go about meeting the "dead" Doctor's Tardis for the first time. Anyone else wonder why it's so damn easy to jump online and know what's what for each episode of the next season? Is there reason to letting all this info out so early? Was it not possible for the BBC to cover up that the Doctor gets split in two? Anyway, I liked last week's episode (as I'm still dl'ing this week's) reference to him not regenerating because he was killed too suddenly. Strange stuff. Quote
Plural Posted June 29, 2008 Posted June 29, 2008 An awesome episode. Loved how everything from the series fitted together. Now I'm going to avoid this thread for an entire week in case of any enormous spoilers. Quote
Shoc Posted June 29, 2008 Posted June 29, 2008 An awesome episode. Loved how everything from the series fitted together. Now I'm going to avoid this thread for an entire week in case of any enormous spoilers. I loved the links too, and also the inclusion of Cardiff Torchwood and the Hub... The inclusion of Sarah Jane's bad actor 'son'... Meh. :skull: Quote
Brainbox Posted July 2, 2008 Posted July 2, 2008 My God, Davros is fantastic! Exactly the same as the Davros we all love from Genesis. Such a fantastic performance, and the make-up looked superb. The bit where Davros revelaed the true nature of the new Daleks made me put my hand over my mouth. Seriously. The 'message to the earth' bit sent a shiver down my spine, and I guess I was right about the missing planets wasn't I? It's great how stuff from the past four years is being tied up. On thing though. Why does Davros continue to work with the Daleks, when at the end of each of his stories they've tried to kill him?! Can't wait for next week. "Welcome... to my new empire Doctor." "The children of time are moving against us, but everything is falling into place." "Each one grown from a single cell of my own body. New Daleks. True Daleks." Quote
JINZONINGEN73 Posted July 5, 2008 Posted July 5, 2008 I think he said at some point that he made Gallifrey burn, and that the Daleks burned with it. So maybe the Daleks attacked Gallifrey directly, and he was forced to destroy the planet to prevent the Daleks from taking control of the Eye of Harmony, the Matrix and the Rod of Rassilon. Well yeah, the Daleks were about to overtake... ...eh... uh... I want to say "the crucible", but I might be messing up there lol. Anyway, he said he was the one who ended the time war. Remember the Master getting off on feeling what it must have been like for the Doctor to do that to all of them? Yeah, so damn... is Sarah Jane dead? The crazy Dalek tells the truth, and he said the most faithful companion would die? Hell, Sarah Jane's carried on her own crusade, run around with 2 Doctors and met more. As for Torchwood, I'm guessing those two will poop out some crazy, megablocks-saving plot device in the knick of time... or maybe Jack's boyfriend will show up. Quote
???theriddler??? Posted July 5, 2008 Posted July 5, 2008 Sarah Jane can't go die, she will do another series of the sarah jane adventures, i think rose will die! Quote
Plural Posted July 5, 2008 Posted July 5, 2008 Wow. Just wow. There's not much I can say after that episode. Quote

Shoc Posted July 5, 2008 Posted July 5, 2008 (edited) That was amazingly epic, and very confusing! Wow. Just wow. There's not much I can say after that episode. Except that we won't get another series for two years! But we will get christmas specials... And the next one has Cybermen again :skull: Edited July 5, 2008 by Shoc Quote
Plural Posted July 5, 2008 Posted July 5, 2008 Not a full series no, but a few specials spread out throughout 2009 as well as the Christmas one. Quote

hewkii9 Posted July 5, 2008 Posted July 5, 2008 DONNA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well at least she's pre-Runaway Bride, when the Doctor said 'completely' I was worried that Donna'd be some sort of blank person. Quote
The Kid Posted July 5, 2008 Author Posted July 5, 2008 Why oh why do people only die metaphorically in these damn shows?? TK Quote
JINZONINGEN73 Posted July 5, 2008 Posted July 5, 2008 Why oh why do people only die metaphorically in these damn shows?? TK Unless your name is Adric, Astrid, Harriet Jones... ...eh... Harriet IS dead, right? I heard a rumor she was seen as a Davros-like torso in a Dalek skirt. (Still dl'ing this episode, curse you lucky Brits!) EDIT: Hahaha, still haven't got it! I've never seen anything like this before... 2,400 people are seeding it while 10,000 are trying to download it! Luckily though, my wife just found a place which has a direct link. : p Quote
Lord Thrawn Posted July 6, 2008 Posted July 6, 2008 OK so what do giant spherical battle stations with guns of kill everything suggest to you? How about the prosthetic old man sitting in a chair firing lightning at the protagonist saying 'excelent'? Star Wars is what I thought throughout. And then Return of The King when they had about 6 endings. Needless to say it was disappointing. Quote
JINZONINGEN73 Posted July 6, 2008 Posted July 6, 2008 Yeah, I didn't "mind" the episode, but there was the thick stench of fanboy fanfic silliness in it's writing. Well, here's my takes: --Saw the hand thing/second Doctor coming a mile away. Reason being, they kept chucking that hand into the face of the viewers and the ultimate fanboy excitement (they think) is at least giving Rose a Real Doll version of him to bang silly. --Davros appears to still be around. Wow, what a shock. Emergency temporal shift, I'm sure. --Thought it really silly that Sarah Jane and Micky just walked away from a million Daleks during the most important experiment ever in existence. --Liked the fact that they finally de-cornballed the whole "hidden messages" thing that were here and there in this series and PLAGUED the others. A Dalek who saw they were pretty crappy beings was responsible. I like. --Liked Davros yelling at the Doctor, that he officially blames him for everything. You'd think, "Who gives a flying crap? It's Davros, the evil bastard". But think about it... the clone Doctor went and committed GENOCIDE. Unless he covers his megablocks, the remaining Doctor might have problems with the Shadow Proclamation, based on Davros' civil complaint. (lol) --Didn't mind that Donna didn't "really" die. Getting set back to being a yenta whose biggest joy in life is a new flavor Pringle is satisfactory. --For a stupid moment of retardation, my brain messed up and thought they might show Adric from the old series during the "people you got killed lol" montage. --Thought it funny Pete stayed home to watch the baby while Jackie goes to be a soldier. --Didn't understand why K-9 or Sarah Jane weren't killed instead of Donna... Khan said "his most faithful companion would die"... Donna? What? lol --Thought his screwy regeneration trick probably counted AS a regeneration, and may yet turn out to be so in the future. And imagine, he'll be there on his last one, possibly suprised to be dying or knowingly apologetic to his companion for being so. IT'S OK! The writers still have: -A HALF TIMELORD DAUGHTER WHO DOESN'T DIE -A CAPTAIN DUDE WHO DOESN'T DIE -A GUY BLOWN INTO ATOMS WHO DOESN'T DIE -A HUMAN WALKING AROUND WITH THE POTENTIAL FOR TIMELORDINESS -A BRAINCHILD EARTHLING BOY (who could be the receiver to Donna's pitch, as HIS head could probably deal with the amount of data), Etc, etc, etc... I fear for the new episodes. Every peril's been so titanic since the show returned, that I think all that might be left is even more soap opera stuff like "Will real doctor and Rose hook up?, Ooh, ooh, let's see that daughter again!, Hey, can't wait to see the Doctor fall in love with his DOOMED WIFE." Also, I hear: --Astrid is coming back, locking on to an unused Tardis. --The Daughter will be back, finding frozen Timelords and hunting down an unused Tardis. --Sarah Jane Adventures will return, but probably not with K-9, as DISNEY grabbed his rights for a super lame Sony Aibo version of him for a wretched Disney-type show. --Martha is the new Owen. Micky is the new Toshiko. Quote

In fact when it was first mentioned about there being something being at the centre of all the planets in The Stolen Earth, I said to my dad "That's no moon, it's a space station!" It even has a big laser thingy too! -A GUY BLOWN INTO ATOMS WHO DOESN'T DIE Would that be Owen of Torchwood? -A HUMAN WALKING AROUND WITH THE POTENTIAL FOR TIMELORDINESS And also the potential for older David Tennant to return to the show even when the Doctor has regenerated, as the other guy ages and stays the same! --Astrid is coming back, locking on to an unused Tardis. --The Daughter will be back, finding frozen Timelords and hunting down an unused Tardis. Svelte Posted July 7, 2008 Posted July 7, 2008 I loved it. So many threads wrapped up and I'd avoided spoilers, so a few surprises as well. I loved the three different versions of the Doctor, I was hoping each of them would have a special in 09 and then maybe they'd tie them together at the end of the year before Series 5. Catherine Tate was excellent and her Tennant imitation was spot on. Captain Jack had something substantial to do (unlike last year's finale) and everyone else had at least one moment to shine. I know a lot of fans have complained about it, but it was fun, brash, exciting and it was good to see so many references from the start of the new series carried through. I even loved the DS type spacestation as it least we weren't on Earth again and for once it looked like they threw some money at the show. The Daleks were a bit disappointing though - one shot and the Supreme Dalek blasted! Not cool. They're back to their cannon fodder days. Quote

Lol, and their, "Help, my body's going CRAZY!!!" days. I imagine it'll be less than a week when someone cuts those scenes out, puts them to Techno, then uploads to Youtube "Daleks at a Rave". Whaaaaaaaaaaat???!! Nope, disgustingly serious. It's a "futuristic comedy". >__< http://www.sylvestermccoy.com/k9adventures/ Feel free to vomit. I won't think any less of you. Quote
