Lady K Posted June 1, 2015 Posted June 1, 2015 C03-Torresta M.A.N.T.I.S. HQ Lady Kianna slowed her breathing and focused on the movement of the rivers of lava around her. Here in the Realm of Truth, as the lava garden just outside the HQ of M.A.N.T.I.S. is called, one is expected to focus on the upcoming mission. Maxx (Maxxenne) had insisted that she come here to ready herself mentally for all that was to come. As she watched the lava flow Lady Kianna remembered how she came to this moment in her life. Born in space to a military family, she grew up with all the daily discipline and ritual the lifestyle demanded. Her father was a leader and military tactician aboard the spaceship the Black Star where she and her family lived and worked. He knew both Maxxenne and Maxximus Corvus personally as he reported directly to both of them. Lady Kianna excelled at all her studies, showing great promise as someone who was willing take charge in the most hostile of situations remaining calm and focused, to be the first in volunteering for dangerous situation, and loved a good challenge. At the end of her formal schooling years, she was required to do a three year tour aboard the spaceship Obsidian. It was there that she learned much about mining and covert military operations. After settling on the planet Torresta and as the HQ began to take shape, Maxx (Maxximus) came directly to her father and recruited her to the engineering team. Having completed the first series of mission to planet B03 - Linopeia III she was now preparing for the next series of missions. With several choices to choose from Lady Kianna contemplated the challenges of each different environment for the engineering skills she would need to best support her team. Enjoy! C&C Welcome. Quote
Ninja Nin Posted June 1, 2015 Posted June 1, 2015 Welcome home my Lady ! Hope you have a pleasant journey .... We're ready for our next move .... !! I really like your zen garden, especially the bridge over the lava ! Quote
NuckElBerg Posted June 1, 2015 Posted June 1, 2015 Simply beautiful. Great combination of colours (the black against the orange, the green against both the black and orange, etc), great looking stone landscape and a nice frame to finish it off. Beautiful. Quote
CMP Posted June 1, 2015 Posted June 1, 2015 Awesome build. It's almost shrine-like: appropriate for a garden, but still very sci-fi. Quote
Dannylonglegs Posted June 1, 2015 Posted June 1, 2015 (edited) Gorgeous build Lady K! Very aesthetically pleasing! I love the "gazebo" and the black rocks in the sea of trans-neon-orange studded Lava! Great work there! I love the colour-work on this! The trans-neon-yellowish green lanterns lining the pathway are excellent contrast to the other colours present, but I think my favorite colour in the build has to be the dark red (or is that Trans red?) tile lining the path! Excellent all round! ~Insectoid Aristocrat Edited June 1, 2015 by Dannylonglegs Quote
Zepher Posted June 1, 2015 Posted June 1, 2015 A really nice build - I'm a big fan of all your builds so far, though this is my first time commenting! I like the story - I think it will be a lot of fun to see how the characters slowly become fleshed out over the course of the game. The one thing I think the build is missing, which I really loved about your previous build, is a clear focal point, or even just a clear contrast. The line down the center (is it a walkway [i think it is], or somewhere you really shouldn't walk, always hard to tell with lava ) is a nice way to break up the spires and the lava flows, but I think what is missing is something big. A particularly tall rock spire might do it. You have them a bit on the far side of the MOC, opposite the walkway, which makes me feel that you feel the same way. Or, maybe some other hints of some other color scattered throughout? A little hovering droid on the far side harvesting lava, to pull the MANTIS colors through more? I don't know, all just minor suggestions that I think might make a difference, but like I always say, if we're down to nit-picking it means the rest of it is pretty damn good. Quote
pombe Posted June 1, 2015 Posted June 1, 2015 A great and beautiful build. I love the lava and the rock work. Despite the violent roiling lava, the scene is very serene. Quote
Big Sal Posted June 1, 2015 Posted June 1, 2015 Beautiful build Lady K! I'm not sure I could relax there next to all that lava, but it looks peaceful somehow all the same. Quote
narbilu Posted June 1, 2015 Posted June 1, 2015 Stunning balance between the black rock and the lava streams. Excellent build my Lady Quote
Boxerlego Posted June 1, 2015 Posted June 1, 2015 Wow, that is both an excellent scene and story! Great work on everything. Quote
Kai NRG Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 Very nice build, the contrast between the black rocks and the lava is great and the walkway is really nice too! Quote
