zouave Posted August 25, 2007 Posted August 25, 2007 Yesterday I made a little fire. I threw in a few peacons thinking they would burn. Later one exploded. It sent embers everywhere. One even hit me in the head. But I was okay. I discovered the explosion was caused by heated moisture in the peacon. What have you thrown in the fire that exploded? Quote
xwingyoda Posted August 25, 2007 Posted August 25, 2007 What have you thrown in the fire that exploded? Good to see you're alright !! As a kid I did loads of crazy stuff that backfired :-P Yeay I was a tad crazy hehe !! * I thew a huge firecracker in a metal bin where a fire was and it exploded really hard !! I lost the use of my right hear for several hourse lool That got me scared :-D Those firecrackers are called mamouth and basically, put 4 together and you have dynamite !! Its that powerfull (not sure if they are legal anymore) * I threw some batteries in the fire to see what happened and since there was jice left in them, that left a small hole on the ground loool Plus other crazy stuff with firecrackers !! So now I'm real carefull and when I'm in the countryside at my uncle or cousin's house, I let them light the fire !! Safety On !! *yoda* Quote

Corvus Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 I remember a few years back in Alaska. Some megablock had thrown in the entire camp's pile of dead aersol cans in the fire pit. They all exploded when my cousin was standing with his back to the fire; the entire fire, fire ring and all, flew three feet in the air. Needless to say, my cousin has never ran faster. :-| Quote
Timento Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 Well I haven't really burnt anything yet... But my crazy friend burnt a telephone inside a house once. The fumes of the burnt telephone were everywhere, we had to get out. Yup he's crazy X-D Quote
Aredhel Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 I haven't really burned sth special, but I was working in a chemistral laboratory and there were several accidents... Well, I think you all know the reaction of Natrium and Water for example ?!? While we were cleaning the laboratory on the last day (as usual) we just tried to neutralize the Natrium with Isopropanol; we thought it was gone and then started to neutralize some other things which were in there with water... And suddenlty the laboratory hoot was a bit at flames! But there did not happen anything more. Our assistant caught up the fire-sand and got it under control. At the other times there were looots of thing where something could happen, but just went well normally... Some other story: When my brother and I were young we built caves in our rooms... E.g.under the desk etc. Once we had our bedside lamp a little bit too near at the rug, and it starts to smell, but we checked immediately so that no fire could begin! -Aredhel Quote
zouave Posted August 27, 2007 Author Posted August 27, 2007 I just saw a mythbusters episode about fire. They threw in some bullets and then a beer keg. It was funny. Quote
Lord Admiral Helden Ravensdorn Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 If ever you find yourself throwing a can of AXE bodyspray into the fire, retreat to at least 20 feet away until it explodes. Furthermore, never drop your sunglasses into a bonfire. They melt. Quote
ZeekyBoogeyDoog Posted August 28, 2007 Posted August 28, 2007 I knew a guy who poured AXE into his hand and then set the AXE on fire. Quote
Shadows Posted August 28, 2007 Posted August 28, 2007 I knew a guy who poured AXE into his hand and then set the AXE on fire. Just how much had he been drinking? 8- Quote
