2016 Action Figure Wishlist

I want to see another Kardas-style combiner. All that would be needed are a three $20 sets (and maybe a $25 one featuring some parts that add to the stability of the combiner) with fairly simple color schemes, with a neutral base and with the distinguishing colors being ones that work together well. I'd suggest black, green and blue. Especially if they are non-humanoid, making combiners with CCBS sets should be easier than it was with the old, piecemeal system. Considering the fact that all of the recolors and new molds would already have been featured in the sets it would be composed of (unless they decide to include a special mask or something), a $60 pricepoint (for $20+$20+$25, or a $55 pricepoint if it's three $20 sets) should be attainable, which would be within the range of christmas gifts.

I'm continuing from the discussion from the 2015 thread to discuss the rumours around that latest set release. People are saying Ekimu could be the Mask Hunter, but wasn't it said that Makuta was the Mask Hoarder? and to hoard masks first you need to hunt them down and get them...

It could honestly be any character at this stage, just due to the names matching with the prior leaks we have a vague idea of what we might be getting. This information included a large toa-sized Ekimu figure and given Ekimu has been called the Mask Maker before he could be given a new title if released in a new form.

Also judging by the names and likely release dates, i'm not seeing any other name that could fit the Ekimu toa-sized title other than Mask Hunter;

So, internet, got any of them... 2016 pictures? Anyways I was kind of hoping for winter villains, and what if the 'C' in the smaller sets stands for Crawler? Could be small horde villains and if so I can live with that. :P

Given the 'Hunter' title of one of them this matches up with some of the ghost name leaks and stuff from February/May. Those included this drawing with the poster mentioning the idea of it being turned into a couple of sets - this may be what we are getting in replacement of the protectors if this most recent name leak is real. So we may have an idea of what those 6 sets would look like.

Though yeah, no pictures yet from what i can find.Guess they are coming soon though. Probably within the next two weeks or so at this rate.

No need to be rude about other people, especially when they are being conscious that there is a different place.

Anyway, with the set list, here's my hopes:

Toa: Based on the playtesting rumors, the Toa use the SW lego armor with kneepad and torso. I think this could go pretty well. I would like to see the introduction of new alternate colors- instead of transparent, make them other accent colors such as tan (including parts from Grevious) for Pohatu and medium azure (the one used before for CCBS) for Gali. I think that the new 'spike w/ vent' armor will look very good in practice.

'C': I am hoping that there are small villain sets in the vein of what the playtesting leaks described as 'walking shooters'. I am also hoping that they either bring new colors to the table or bring plenty of variations to their builds ala the Protectors.

Hunter: Although there are rumors that this is a 'Toa Ekimu', I really hope this isn't the case. I would like for this to be a villain with a similar role as LOSS, the main antagonist of the wave who controls the smaller beasts.

Yep, Grinder wasn't even a 20 worth titan because Ekimu pretty much would had sported to somewhat 13 bucks category due to his gearbox and left Grinder in a 17 price range. Which is still a lot better than LoSS but the price still eats some off him. Would had preferred Grinder with his combiner legs build or something.

I still think "Mask Hunter" could be Makuta or another villain. (I would certainly prefer Makuta, though) For one, "hunters" aren't typically a heroic moniker in brands with this age range. Heroes can hunt for things, but they're rarely called "hunters." It brings to mind a skilled predator stalking it's weaker prey. I know it doesn't have to mean that, but there's clearly little below the surface of G2 Bionicle's naming conventions. If it were a hero I'd imagine something like "Mask Seeker." Plus there was that old rumour that Makuta was searching for all the most powerful masks.

I want Mask Hunter to be Makuta, if not a villain that works alone. I'd like a rival for the Toa that doesn't work with another "major" villain.

A bounty hunter-like character, maybe?

Dunno if this should go here or in the 2016 sets thread, I feel it's more wishful thinking than real speculation. But up to VBBN to decide my fate.

So we're getting the same "special" mask (Mask of Creation) two years in a row...

that never happened in G1 :/ (inb4 silver/gold Avohkii in 2003, silver/gold ignika in 2008/09) especially never happened with the same colours, as most probably it's going to happen this time.

I think it's fair to assume that Ekimu (if Hunter is Ekimu that is) is going to get a treatment akin to that of the other 2016 Toa sets in terms of mask colours. One way could be: mask in its primary colour (gold MoCr in his case) + special recolour (transparent version?). Or, looking at it from another point of view, maybe each Toa gets their mask in their primary colour + a gold recolour, while Ekimu gets the opposite (gold MoCr + tr. light blue MoCr?).

Hopefully everything I wrote makes sense to the average speaker, I'm tired and I had some trouble writing this. Sorry.

Lego has already released five exclusive masks for the G2. So for 2016, I'd really love to see masks packs to come back. They would definitely sell like hot cakes.

Also, a Bingzak polybag could be fun.

This isn't as much a wish as it is an idea; Cardboard scenery.

Seeing the new polybag with the cardboard pedestal sort of gave me this idea. And seeing as how a kid would probably be more interested in playing with a set then collecting the boxes why not give the boxes a function of the sorts?

And yes, mask packs.
