Oops. Well both Mighty Eagle and Hal aren't considered recurring members in the cartoon series, which is why they're not in the introduction page. As said, not sure if the movie canon would keep the same flock roster.

Ah, well I don't watch the cartoon (I just play the classic Angry Birds games) so I wouldn't have known that, that makes sense why they're not there though

But yes, if LEGO does things based on the app or cartoon, then I see a CMF style series being more likely (as I said, I find it hard to imagine a full wave of sets since, well, there's not too much to it! No real iconic locations so to say and I don't think a set with just a slingshot would work), these could contain a bird or pig and a few "blocks" of wood, glass or stone, and maybe have a Minecraft Crafting Box type set, like a starter pack if you will. Sure, LEGO have never really done this type of release but I think that would be best for the theme.

I maintain though that if the sets are based on the movie (which I think is more likely given there will be scenes in that movie to base proper sets on), we almost certainly will get minifigures of the movie form birds :look:

otherwise, CMF series is considered the best aid of introducing new molds.

That's a good point and I can understand where people are coming from looking at it from that perspective. It just seems weird to do a CMF for Angry Birds considering they aren't really minifigure-like at all. I mean they are basically just shapes like circles, triangles, etc. with some distinguishing features and done in different colors. Angry Birds figures seems more suited to other toy companies like Mega Bloks or K'nex who excel in offering tons of different molded figures, while the levels seem more suited to Lego with solid building? Who knows with the movie though.

Hmm, judging by the poster for the movie, they have legs.......so maybe they'll be minifig scale figures like Chima ones ?

My son loves playing Angry Birds and he is going to flip when I tell him !

^ ninja'd by just2good, can anyone beat that man. Not sure I like it, thought they might not be just one part. But I will pick up at least one set for my carton/computer game collection.

The problem is you cant tell its even Lego just by looking at it, at the very least it should have been in two parts.

Incredible, really. On one end you have one of the most magnificent Technic sets ever done and a swoon-worthy Ferrari F40. On the other, you have this. You wouldn't believe those came from the same company, but then, we can vote with our wallets. If you really hate this theme, don't buy it. It's beating a dead horse, I admit, but it's true. Decide between which is more worth buying and building, then act on that.

Oh dear...

My fears were right... they're going to be based on the movie. I would have preferred them to be regular minifigures (I was thinking "sandwich-board" design like what they did with the Ewoks), but nah, they had to be completely specialised minifigures. The egg definitely appears to be a separate piece (and one I am going to want to accumulate hundreds of - they seem perfect for dinosaur eggs). The bird design actually reminds me of the Power Miners rock monsters more than anything, and overall it isn't an absolutely terrible figure (the pigs you can see though really don't look good  ) - I just think it's bad as I would have 100% preferred classic Angry Birds

The fact it's movie-based has really reduced me to "might buy a set out of curiosity" - unless the sets are top-notch (I don't hold my breath though), I probably won't be buying.

That's how I see it. They look very well-moulded, and basically the best LEGO could do with this version of the property, but since it's attached to the movie and not the game, it looks odd in general.
