I forgot to say it a while ago, but if my memory serves correct, 75822, 75823, 75824, 75825, 75826 are the Angry Birds sets.

Awesome, thanks for the news! Looks like I didn't go back far enough when doing that URL search...

Is that "2" at the beginning of "25822" a typo?

Crazy idea here, but bear with me: how about only buying the sets you like, and letting other people buy the sets they like? If you don't like these sets, don't buy them.

That is just silent approval for something that shouldn´t exist. This kind of attitude just let´s the problems grow bigger. The problem I see is that all Angry Birds figures are just big lumps made out of new moulds with normal arms. Lego only thinks that this is an ok design because people gave silent approval towards superhero big figs like Hulk that should at least have had functional legs but nobody boycotted those so we are here now.

At this rate Lego will probably include more and more inarticulate statues with movable heads and legs like Megabloks has in its Spongebob theme. Is this something you want to happen?

But I'm sure other people will like them, and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that.

Some opinions are factually, logically, figuratively and literally wrong and those need to be pointed out.

Angry Birds sets being made doesn't have any effect on other themes, so if you don't like these, I'm sure you can find something else to spend your money on instead.

Yes it does, we are getting fewer non-licensed themes because Lego can´t produce an infinite number of different sets and themes per year. Having too many different good themes was also a reason why Lego went under during the late 90s/early00s.

Trying to organize a boycott of a theme, based solely on disliking the set design or source material, sounds like one of the pettiest things I've ever seen an AFOL propose.

Well, those are the only reasons anybody could boycott a Lego theme for, so it´s kind of inevitable.

I also wouldn´t call this petty since this is what people here did for over a decade. Bionicle, Exo-Force, 4Juniors, Jack Stone, Speed Racer, Galidor, Ben10 and many others endured the same negative comments.

If anything I would call a boycott for this useless since the members of forums like this just make up 5 or 10% of Legos profits, the only way to even have a chance at success would force us to get the five year old children in on this which might be actually happening, seeing how the Hasbro Angry Birds Star Wars toys are still shelf-warming with 50% discounts worldwide but maybe children will be more attracted to these movie toys because a movie resonates more with them than a senseless, soulless franchise mash-up so it could go either way.

There's nothing about Angry Birds that should make it any less appropriate for Lego than Star Wars, or the Simpsons, or DC Comics.

Simpsons was extremely inappropriate already, being at least 15 years too late, not using normal heads with new hair parts and consisting solely of 200$ kits.

This attitude of "I don't personally like this, so it shouldn't exist" in the community needs to go away.

This attitude of not allowing any criticism whatsoever, so everything just waddles slowly towards worse visual designs for adults and worse play features for kids needs to go away.

I also don´t get all these Egg-lovers in here. It doesn´t have any studs, bars or bar holes and it´s far too big for minifigures. It´s just another example of juniorization and would fit better with Duplo figures aesthetically. You would be better off with eggs from dollhouses when you can´t even appreciate 1x1 studs or Barraki Eyes.

I hope people finally get the parody and sarcasm in this post

I do hope that all your responses are the sarcasm/parody, as every single one of your responses are very easily refutable.

Lyichir hit the nail on the head.

Wow, the sets are far more expensive than what I think. Hope the new molds and parts are worth the expensive price tag of the sets.

I say it'll be like Jurassic World, overpriced because they think they'll sell :(

What?!!!!! A $90-$100 Angry Birds set? How in the world do they think that'll work? Unless they've come up with some great new innovative piece that launches birds, these things probably won't be too exciting. I could see some Angry Birds Go! things, but otherwise they'd be "Hulk Smash" builds that break apart too easily. I just don't see why they're making them, personally.

I assume LEGO did their homework before deciding to produce this theme. There is always some risk in releasing a new movie based product to the market. I think the sets will sell well if the movie does well. If the movie doesn't do well, then we'll have a clearance SALE. Either way the AB sets will sell (at a profit or at a loss).

These don't look like conventional minifigs. Only the arms can move.

And really, the only actual sets they can make are like a hut, a ship, or a cave, since that's basically it for set ideas.

Lego is also most likely going to try a few gimmicks like a slingshot feature.

I've only seen a lego poster of a ship set with five pigs. It's a ship and looks pretty good. One of the pigs has a huge pirate hat. The four main birds are seen in the bottom, the red one, the yellow one, the big black one who doesn't like a lego figure at all, and a pink female bird. It gives us a better look at the new egg piece. I'm liking it and need to see the other sets for a final judgement.

"The big black one who doesn't look like a lego figure at all"

So, wait, do the others look like lego figures at all? Because we've been getti some weird things lately classified as Lego figures" :sceptic: But that does sound interesting, a pirate ship! Ye filthy ole pigs!

The pigs look awful. The ship is a little boxy and plain but it's alright.

Yikes, I take that back!

The big set being a giant tree/jungle/forest thing would be pretty cool. I have 0 idea as to what it actually is, though.

All the birds have new body molds, they're just like the Red bird.

The birds have accurate moldings to the movie. The black one just looks like the movie animation pictures we've seen, but was just thrown in there. You can tell the others birds have actual printing on their mold. Really liking that egg piece. The ship is blocky, but I really like those new curved flag pieces.

Kind of hard to see the body molds in the promo poster we got a while back, so I'm not entirely sure what you're thinking. :sceptic:

EDIT: 500th post!
