I always felt Lego misses this, not in a way they should be canon but I wouldn't mind having eastereggs for other themes, for example Knight's Kingdom appearing in an animation as a craving of an eagle shield.

I read the Tumblr, the author doesn't give any hard evidence for his theory, it's more a hypothesis, with no actual facts to back it up. Although, since The Lego Movie, it is confirmed, that all the Lego themes are connected, and co-exist in one universe, perhaps this also include Bionicle, HF, Mixels, or even old Slizers. Hell, in the very exact scene, when Wyldstyle explains it to Emmet, in the slideshow we CAN actually see for a brief moment Bionicle sets, and even dreaded Galidor!

Oh hey, my dumb fan theory! I feel famous \o/

This wasn't meant to be serious or anything, just a source of some fun food for thought :3

I know that, I was just thinking we could come up with our own for fun.

The point is that Lego made this connection afterwards. It's not something like, say the pizzaplanet car on Pixar. So there's no clues to search for. I could say that Ekimu stolea wheel from Cinderella's cart to make a shield and that would make as much sense as the post on tumblr.

Now I want to see someone draw that. :P

However, you must remember that The LEGO Movie handles canon quite differently from how the LEGO Themes used in it might handle their own canon internally; LEGO Movie was a Toy-Story type of film, in which the themes were able to interact only because the Man Upstairs owned said themes, and they were within close enough range to interact with each other.

It's not that I dislike the way themes interacted in The LEGO Movie, it just doesn't work for BIONICLE: the fantasy universe, or Slizers: the fantasy universe, or Hero Factory: the fantasy universe, and any portrayals of those themes LEGO Movie-style would be incompatible with the fantasy universe created for those themes. After all, "millennia-old semi-organic robots powered by magitek" is irreconcilable with the setting of "AFOL's basement full of LEGO kits."

To use another example, you wouldn't say that Gandalf and Superman exist in a shared universe because both of their Minifigures were in The LEGO Movie, would you?
