Bricky Dee Williams Posted August 7, 2015 Posted August 7, 2015 (edited) After almost all of us were proclaiming "Coulson better be in the Helicarrier" for the 4 months before the release date of that set, and he was notably absent from it, makes me think Lego has something up there sleve in the future... Coulson wasn't included in the Helicarrier because 76042 was (SPOILER!!!!!!!!!!!) based on the final battle of Avengers: Age of Ultron. Nick Fury had the original #64 Helicarrier from the Avengers" in storage" after the HYDRA subversion, and uses it to rescue civilians. Hence the inclusion of the new design Balack Widow, Hawkeye, Nick Fury, and Captain America (who lost his helmet in the battle). Maria Hill also donned her SHIELD outfit in that scene. That explains the inclusion of all the minifigures and the lack of a Couslon. Edited August 7, 2015 by Aegis2000 Quote
wesker Posted August 7, 2015 Posted August 7, 2015 Not Coulson again! I'm so tired of his character that I'm in no rush to see a minifigure of him anytime soon. Bring on Peggy Carter instead. Quote
Bricky Dee Williams Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 Bring on Peggy Carter instead. Yes! In Red Skull's car from Captain America: The First Avenger! Although I think Tommy Lee Jones drove that, she just rode Shotgun. Nonetheless, bring it on! Personally, I would LOVE a Deadpool in his Chimichanga truck, but that's just me.........and many, many other people who didn't want to fork over $90 for 6866. Plus (Lego, are you listening?) its just in time for the February release of Deadpool next year! Quote

Marvel doesn't make as much money from X-Men merchandising as they do with their other characters so they kind of stopped all toy production from the team and its characters, so a Deadpool centric set is a huge no no. I actually think the only reason we got the Sentinel set last year was because of how far ahead Lego plans. Sorry to burst your bubble. Quote

As much as I love Peggy, I don't think she's as likely. She's dated and also falls victim to Lego's gender bias. Plus, she doesn't have a vehicle that's so attached to her as Coulson does with Lola. They may not get all of the profits from Deadpool merch, but they make and sell plenty of it and still make a killing. I'm sure there is much more to it to that. And no matter how much they could possibly sell you have to think that it amounts to very little as opposed to what they could be making. (Especially when they pay off Lego, Fox, and other service providers.) Quote

Legocity2713 Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 Just wishful thinking. But where there's a will and a huge market for demand, there's a way! However, not always....ahem *Coulson!* Hey man all we can do is keep on dreaming right? One day in the perfect world all the characters will live together in harmony in the form of Lego sets. Jeez...A lot of Coulson haters here... Lol. I don't think everyone hates him rather than they are just tired of hearing about him. I prefer when he was only part of the movies, he was in a way, something to look forward to. The TV show made him a little too popular. I still like him though. But don't worry, we'll see how quickly everyone jumps on the bandwagon again if / when we get him one day Quote
Ashnflash Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 Absolutely what I've been thinking. People just want something "official." Unfortunately, there is no way they will create a LEGO that looks anything like Coulson. I'm betting the hair will be completely off. As for the body, it's not like he wears a cool SHIELD outfit like Maria Hill. He'll just be wearing a suit. If he's included, it needs to be a bonus -- like the 5th or 6th figure in a set -- because it will never be my main reason for buying any set. It's really not that hard for them to make... just take the game design... Not Coulson again! I'm so tired of his character that I'm in no rush to see a minifigure of him anytime soon. Bring on Peggy Carter instead. Why Peggy? I really don't get the appeal of the show or the character and kids I'm sure don't know her over Coulson Jeez...A lot of Coulson haters here... I know eh so sad... They don't understand Quote
Legocity2713 Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 (edited) Why Peggy? I really don't get the appeal of the show or the character and kids I'm sure don't know her over Coulson The show is actually very well done, really exciting, and well written. Peggy and Coulson would be great candidates to be immortalized in Lego. That said, how many kids who aren't die hard Marvel fans in the making know Coulson of the top of their head? At most its much like Peggy Carter where they saw him and her in the respective movies they appeared in and then see the Marvel branding for their television shows. I still think Peggy is easier to make in a purist fashion as she doesn't have anything really distinct like Coulson's cheeky personality and laniard / badge. The parts to make her already exist, take a look: Edited August 8, 2015 by Legocity2713 Quote
dmarvin Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 For the record, I'm not a Coulson hater. He's a likable dude. I just think it would be a rather boring minfig compared to lots of other currently unrepresented Marvel characters. Also, it would have been more meaningful if he had stayed dead, but I digress! And Peggy Carter isn't the answer either. Give me someone like Deathlok, Adam Warlock, Ghost Rider...then we'd be in business! Quote
Borex Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 So one AA set is in space? With likely bigfig Thanos or a Watcher? (I dont see them do a watcher, although they made Modok too) And one is under water. So with probably atlanteans as villains (attuma comes to mind). I never watched the show, so is Namor also an avenger in this show? Who were/are the avengers in AA. I like to know if we can expect other heroes instead of thor/cap/falcon/hulk in comic gear. Quote
kevkipo Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 (edited) Okay, i can kinda understand the want for Coulson now. He wouldn't be written out. Yes i've seen the sub marine episode, looks like this: And on a completely different note, Has any of you noticed (SPOILER) that in the battle of Sokovia Hawkeye goes from his jacket and sweater to his regular outfit? Is that an error? Edited August 8, 2015 by kevkipo Quote

Well, it's in the name: "Iron Skull's Submarine Attack". Villains will be Hydra or AIM, and in the episode the heroes are Tony Stark and Steve Rogers disguised as villains. On the space note, no clue, but hopefully it's got Thanos in it, and it's not some upcoming episode to tie into the Guardians of the Galaxy cartoon show. (But hey, for $70, who knows?) However, hopefully it's likethe Darkseid Invasion set, and comes with a bigfig (Thanos) and a bunch of Avengers in a team vehicle (the Avenjet). Quote
kevkipo Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 Just so everyone knows, The Space Mission has the Avenjet in it. So a comic Hawkeye is probably as good as confirmed He just ditches the jacket and he had his regular Suit on underneath So he has a jacket, his suit, and a sweater on? Wow must've been hot Quote

Ultron Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 If the Avenjet is in the set, that'll be the bulk of the build. This is what it looks like apparently. I also feel like Hyperion could be a possibility in one of the sets Quote

LegoAddict117 Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 (edited) For the Record, Coulson is my favorite character. Ultron Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 (edited) So far we have: -3 Civil War sets (Although Just2Good said there's more so I'd say 5 or 6 max) -2 Avengers Assemble sets (Could be 3 if 76046 is Marvel) Edit: I guess it might make sense if there are 3 AA sets. Because racers are called 4-6 -3 Racers sets -1 Juniors set Exciting, I guess we'll have to wait till summer for Spider-man stuff. And if we're getting a Doctor Strange set, expect it in September or October. Edited August 8, 2015 by Ultron Quote
EdWebhead Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 I think it's safe to assume that there will be as many Civil War sets as there were Age of Ultron sets, since there are more characters set to appear in Civil War than this year's Avengers movie. 5-6 sets will provide us with all the heroes from the movie (Captain America, Iron Man, Black Widow, Hawkeye, Falcon, Ant-Man, Black Panther, Scarlet Witch, Vision, War Machine, and Spider-Man). And if we're getting a Doctor Strange set, expect it in September or October. I'm really excited for this wave, here are my thoughts. -I'm glad we are getting at least three sets for civil war, looking forward to new characters and new areas for fights. -The Avengers Assemble sets sound good, glad I saw the episode for the space set. Looking forward to the possibility of Thanos, Arsenal, and comics Black Widow and Hawkeye. -The racers sound interesting but I don't think I'll have a practical use for the besides the figures that come with it. -Glad that we are getting a new Loki and hopefully the juniors set has a good price for piece unlike the last spidy set. Then I just have one question, will we be getting two waves with these sets? The juniors set, AA, and racers come out with the release of the lego game. Then the civil war come out a month before the movie. Quote
