That Thanos grin... Anyways I like the avenjet set. Interesting they gave Hyperion the new BvS superman face with the cocky grin. I really like Mrs marvel, iron man, and Hyperion. Quite disappointed about cap and thanos. No infinity gauntlet equals no threat at all.

I hope Thanos face looks decent because all I see is a smiley face from those angles.

Also, not to get too comic booky but Thanos can hold his own even without the gauntlet.

He definitely can, but he's only a galactic threat when he has the Gauntlet. Otherwise he's just an intelligent and strong titan. And not to toot my own horn, but Ultron is more of a threat than gauntlet-less Thanos.

I like the Thanos set even if it feels like a rehash of last years DC Darkseid Invasion set build wise. I like the idea of collecting the gems throughout the sets. Though it will end up with the last one in a expensive set and me with a

incompleted gauntlet

Hmm... Thanos why you always smiling

Well, he is the Mad Titan after all...

The Avenjet set is very similar in concept to this year's Darkseid set as many have noted, but what I find funny about it is the fact that those sets originally would have been released at the same time since the BvS sets were swapped with the JL ones because of the delay of the movie

Whoohooohh, clear pics! :excited:

Thanks, mediumsnowman! :sweet::thumbup:

Gotta love those Iron Man armors  I love how that chest/neck piece makes the Hammerhead armor bulkier, making it resemble the movie version perfectly if you ask me :cry_happy:

The Gemini armor looks amazing too

I'm usually not a fan of bigfigs (other than the Hulk that is, but for example Darkseid looked afwul to me), but Thanos does it well. I'll be sure to add him to my collection!

Those breathing apparatuses on Cap and in both sets and the HYDRA soldier in the Submarine Attack look great too, and very usable for other outside the Marvel theme :purrr:

Not sure what to think of Hyperion and Captain Marvel, really.. I'm not too familiar with them, so..

Regards,

Mitch

Cap and Iron Man. Would have liked an other avenger instead of cap twice.

I wouldn't have minded getting Cap x2 if it had included a new Cowl and / or an updated design or leg / arm printing....

The Avenjet looks...pretty bad, actually. Which is strange because it appears to have lots of good parts; I thought it would have turned out better. The sub looks better to me despite fewer interesting parts.

I'm still kind of meh on the figs. They look good and all but I don't really feel any impulse to collect them. :sceptic:

Is there really no Infinity Gauntlet in that set? Seriously? :hmpf_bad:

Lego is just plain stupid with their Superhero choices sometimes. Giving us half a character--Thanos and the IG are inseparable; you cannot say one without thinking of the other. Even a mediocre print on the hand would have worked. Wonder how many years we have to wait to get that one now. :hmpf:

My guess is they don't do it to get a little in sync with the movies, Thanos doesn't have the gems thus he wouldn't wear the glove here either, to prevent confusion with the kids.

Nonetheless it is indeed sad, No gauntlet :sadnew: . I have more hope for CW based on what we heard so far!

I expect LEGO news in a LEGO rumors and discussion thread, not movie pictures and movie news. Thank you.

Honestly? I'm quite impressed by the upcoming sets myself. I tend to end up enjoying most superhero sets in hand, even if the promotional images aren't the best. And to get a good range of characters in the first few months of the year only serves to impress more.

.i really like the figs in both sets. The sub is cool but the jet is terrible. I like my vehicles sleek and high tech-looking. That jet looks like sets that were designed in the 90's. It just doesn't appeal to me at all. I do like Thanos' rocket boots, it's a neat idea although I would have much rather had the Infinity Gauntlet of course.

Does anyone have information about if / how / when the new Hulk polybag will show up in Germany? Did not find anything regarding this. Another super-expensive Hulk poly would not be good :sceptic:

As always, if anyone's post seems out of line please use the 'Report' button instead of telling someone what is or is not the wrong thread. In this case, we do know that we're getting Black Panther and this is one of the best looks at the movie-version to date, so it's ok.

I'm mixed on whether or not I'd like a cowl for Black Panther. The helmet is just so skin-tight, a big helmet piece would look off. Two heads, like Captain Marvel, would probably be best.

The new Avengers Assemble sets are pretty underwhelming. I've seen a lot of comparison between the Avenjet and the Darkseid Invasion, but one key difference to me is that the Javelin was actually a nice looking model. As for the Avenjet, I feel like people will only be in it for the minifigures (of course I don't fault them for that).

The Iron Skull sub looks better to me. Not a wonderful model, but still a cool vibe. It's sad that Captain America is exactly the same in both sets, though.

The Sub Attack feels obligatory, like it's just there to provide Hyrda/Red Skull to be in the current line-up. Cap A is disappointing in design.

The Avenjet is only good for the minifigures and even then, they aren't great. Thanos' smile is just enough on the goofy side that I'll wait for the next version of him (I'm betting Lego will get lots of mileage from that mold, like with Hulk).
