Robert8 Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 My dear lord.... that giant guy is really something Looks awesome Quote
Colossus Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 Giant Man looks fantastic! This is exactly what the Sentinel in the X-Men set should have been. You couldn't be more correct. Quote
Dr.Cogg Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 TLG did an A+ job on Giant Man, but everything else is C+ at best, they just aren't that exciting. Quote
BlueberryWaffles Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 Dang. Lego really keeps upping their game. Every Marvel set has been impressive. Mighty Micros: these are adorable! I love the chibi minifigs. And Cap's little tank is so cute. That set with the Panther jet: Not a huge fan of yet another truck, but sweet minifigs in this one. The main focus of this set, the Panther jet, looks great as well. Crossbones vs. Falcon and Black Widow: Usually I when I see the typical barrage of trucks in Super Heroes set I am disappointed. But this is a great looking truck. Falcon is obviously a must have, and I'm sure I will want Crossbones after seeing Civil War. Nice to have another of the great AoU Widow and Avengers bike too. Airport: Giant. Man. I've wanted Lego to make a giant brick built minifig for so long, so I'm very excited about him. Also tiny Antman which is amazing. Scarlet Witch finally gets the hair that looks like it was made for her, and we finally get black War Machine. (Going to replace that arm cannon though. And is he fighting Giant Man with a stick? ) I don't know who Agent 13 is, but she looks accurate to that concept art from a while back. Iron Man looks the same from this year, maybe there's a slight difference I didn't realize. Airport tower and cart look good. But another Quinjet? Really? I don't have room to store all these large Marvel aircraft! That got a little long. Quote
N_Cat Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 I wanna say it's two of the curved 1x4 slopes with a sticker over both of them. Hmm...that's an intriguing possibility, though hasn't it been many years since LEGO put stickers over multiple pieces? Oh my goodness just realised. Bucky was flying that (unnecessary) Quinjet. Not Agent 13 or Scarlet Witch. Breaking the chain of female only pilots :D Yay, they put one of the people who knows how to fly a plane in the pilot seat. Nice! I think if Giant Man is all stickers it'll kill my interest in the set. I hate stickers with every fiber of my being and refuse to put them on my sets. Hey, cool, I'm the same way, I almost never apply stickers either, though I did make an exception for Ant-Man Final Battle- the Lego logo stickers were too cute to leave off. Given the parts they chose for Giant-Man, I think we're both going to be disappointed. The part I think has the best chance to be printed is the goggles piece, though that's only because I can't tell exactly how it's built. The 2x4 & 2x2 tiles and 2x2 slope pieces are probably stickers. If the face is printed, I think the rest of the design can be done reasonably well using brick building techniques: replace the upper 2x4 with red, use a silver jumper and a trans-blue 1x1 round plate for the belt, etc. If the face is a sticker, then that's a disappointment, and I don't know what can be done. YellowCorvette Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 Wow, the Giant Ant Man is genius! I might get the Black Panther Jet since I'm always a sucker of fighter jets, but I might also get the others if my budget is enough. Quote
Amazing Bricks Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 (edited) It looks like war machine's stick in the set is based off of this: http://i.imgur.com/wNj0W1X.jpg http://i.imgur.com/XJQjIl5.jpg http://i.imgur.com/xi6nV43.jpg http://i.imgur.com/pVPntL4.jpg All of these pictures are from hot toys. That black stick needed to be a new piece. Edited December 18, 2015 by amazingbricks Quote

Curious as to what that wand thingy is, guess we'll find out soon enough... Quote
The Lego Nolan Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 Nice find! Curious as to what that wand thingy is, guess we'll find out soon enough... Im guessing it's just one of those things the people on runways at airports have. Quote
Bricky Dee Williams Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 It looks like war machine's stick in the set is based off of this: http://i.imgur.com/wNj0W1X.jpg http://i.imgur.com/XJQjIl5.jpg http://i.imgur.com/xi6nV43.jpg http://i.imgur.com/pVPntL4.jpg All of these pictures are from hot toys. That black stick needed to be a new piece. Seems they could have reused a silver and trans-red Chima sword piece, or a smaller version as that's too big. It seems to be some kind of electric baton. That black stick needed to be a new piece. Lego epically failed on that one. I find it more amusing to think War Machine is fending off Giant Man with a normal stick. Wait, where are the fire extinguishers in these sets? *oh3* Quote
TheBatstan Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 At least Lego FINALLY gave them ACTUAL gun pieces from the Batman/Indiana Jones lines. Glad to see the Alien Conquest gun phase for the Marvel and DC sets is over now Nice find! Curious as to what that wand thingy is, guess we'll find out soon enough... It's apparently some sort of warhammer/baton thing. Quote
Amazing Bricks Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 (edited) So this is how vision looks in civil war: https://i.imgur.com/aMw1SKa.jpg See a difference compared to how he looked in AoU? Nope, he looks exactly the same. I don't blame Lego for not making vision in any civil war set. Edited December 18, 2015 by amazingbricks Quote
HawkLord Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 Giant Man is the clear winner in terms of excitement in this wave. Otherwise, nothing that I have to have immediately, so at least I can wait for good discount prices. I feel like as quality goes, Lego is definitely trying, it's just alittle bit of a different direction than I'd hoped. Especially after the stellar AoU wave. Quote
namioik Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 Just so we're clear...there IS a fourth civil war set right? Quote
frank_day Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 So, can it be confirmed that the Iron Man in the airport set is MK45 ? Quote
Ultron Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 So, can it be confirmed that the Iron Man in the airport set is MK45 ? No, it's not. For one, the MK 45 had gray on the helmet flap and this one does not. As far as Iron Man goes, that's enough to warrant it a new fig. However, I'm expecting there to be subtle differences on the torso print that we just can't see from this angle/resolution. Quote
N_Cat Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 Kind of funny- the only figure in the entire wave that doesn't have a new or unique part is the Captain America from the Airport. It's his movie, and he's the only reused figure. Quote
Ultron Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 See a difference compared to how he looked in AoU? Nope, he looks exactly the same. I don't blame Lego for not making vision in any civil war set. Well to be fair, the first Lego one is not as accurate as he could be. It would be nice to have a Vision that: 1) Is more red. In AoU, he's not as pink as our minifig version 2) Isn't sand green. He's a deepish gray-green. 3) Has the correct color gem 4) Printing on the cape would be nice. We know Lego is capable of that. Heck, I'll just take a comic inspired Vision instead. Quote

Every single one of those errors were retained from this piece of concept art, which means it's probably the only one LEGO got: The erroneous concept art in question: What Lego produced as a result: What Vision actually looks like: I'm a proud owner of the current figure, but he is desperately in need of an update just for movie accuracy. NotMegalodon Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 Wow these sets look awesome! Is Giant Man a spoiler? I didn't know he'd be in the movie. Quote
kevkipo Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 So everyone is just jumping over the fact that we ARE GETTING FLIPPIN SPIDER-MAN? Tragic Banjo just confirmed with his honest face! Also Hot Toys... Yay Quote
NXS7 Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 Wow these sets look awesome! Is Giant Man a spoiler? I didn't know he'd be in the movie. It was confirmed a few months ago that he would both grow and become Giant Man to fight Iron Mans team, and also shrink down to fire from Hawkeye's arrow in the movie Quote
NXS7 Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 I've just put the Bucky hair on Chris Pratt's face, the angry face looks to actually suit Bucky, but the smiling face just makes me wanna Hulk out Quote
Aethersprite Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 I completely forgot about the Vision! It seems we're missing him, Spidey, Zemo and Hawkeye from the line-up so far. Here's hoping the 4th exclusive set gives us at least a few of these characters. Quote
