Amazing Bricks Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 ....because he's transporting hazardous chemicals. Ahh, that makes sense. I still like how he looks comic based. Quote
benderisgreat Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 (edited) Some time have passed since first images of these Captain America Civil War sets images appeared and my opinion on them has changed. All of new sets kinda suck! Crossbones truck- just another bulky jeep, something Lego has done multiple times before! Also initial pictures made me think Black Widow had different outfit , but it's the same as AoU one. Crossbones himself is too comicbook like instead of movie accurate, and his costume is supposed to look bulky and big, they easily could have made it more accurate by using Jurrasic World ACU vest in different color. Panther Jet is ok at best. Panther would really benefit from new mask mold, but Lego choose weird head horns instead, well at least torso printing looks good. Jet kinda looks like one from Ultra Agents theme, and Cap is using another Jeep! Cap has the same AoU torso, and new Superman hairpiece for some reason. Still hard to see Caps new face, I just hope it isn't Obi-Wan's from Ep 1 again. Also doesn't it look like Bucky reuses Star Lords face? Airport Battle set has only one redeeming quality build wise - Giant Man, he looks really great! Other than that sets is really dissapointing: small Quinjet- is it necessary to release it just a year after AoU one? Minifigs in this set are mixed feelings for me. New War Machine- great minifig! New Scarlet Witch, also great one, and even has accurate hairpiece this time. Agent 13 - was she really necessary? They could have used that spot for someone like Vision or Spider-Man! Cap is really dissapointing- same minifig as 2015 one, and has the same skin tone problem ( too tanned). And Iron Man is the biggest disappointment of the set! The Bleeding Edge version is supposed to have blue lights all over the suit, even on arms and legs, and this one is a missed opportunity by Lego! This could have been the best Iron Man they ever made, but turned out as pretty bad . Edited January 2, 2016 by benderisgreat Quote
Ultron Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 No leg printing or even claw pieces for Black Panther? Ughhh. Quote
Tom Jurassic Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 I have to admit, the new images do make me more reluctant than anything. They could've chosen a better hairpiece for Cap, and many of the figures would've benefited from additional printing. I am a bit more disappointed than I was at now, sadly. Quote
Soupperson1 Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 Giant Man looks amazing in low quality, but it will be interesting to see how he looks in person Quote
Ultron Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 (edited) Is Ultron the dark metal or the lighter silver color? It's hard to tell from that pic but I thought he was the dark metal that Ultron Prime and the drones are. Also, what normal-sized legs do you recommend using for him? A drones or are there any plain ones in that color? I don't know what to do. It was nice of them to give us comic Ultron as he was in my top 3 most wanted figs, but it's not cool they don't give us real legs in that color. Edited January 2, 2016 by Ultron Quote

The only legs that would look right with comic ultron are cyborg's. Other than that, it's going to be tough to find legs for him. Quote
TheGeekMeister Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 Will only be getting the smaller sets, which should come to about £50! Quote
Legocity2713 Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 (edited) Why are we not celebrating over the fact green Goblin has a proper Pumpkin Bomb that isn't just a makeshift Harry Potter Jack O Lantern head?! Edited January 2, 2016 by Legocity2713 Quote
Bricky Dee Williams Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 Ugh, those grey legs on crossbones! :blegh: Otherwise they're all pretty cool, except for Black Panther's total lack of claws! Quote
deskp Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 Why would black panther have claws? they are not nearly big enough to warrant anything except normal lego hands. Quote
TheBrickHitHouse Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 (edited) No leg printing or even claw pieces for Black Panther? Ughhh. Doesn't look like printed legs on the majority of the figures - I just can't fathom why. When every Chima and Nexo Knights figure has it I'm left baffled why beloved characters like Black Panther get less love. Edited January 2, 2016 by TheBrickHitHouse Quote

And you can't print hands. I suppose it is more concise this way. Better to have none than have claws and make it look ridiculous. It is upsetting that for the themes they are paid to make, their own are far more detailed. Edited January 2, 2016 by Aegis2000 Quote
TheBrickHitHouse Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 Why would black panther have claws? they are not nearly big enough to warrant anything except normal lego hands. Wolverine-style claw parts would surely have worked. If nothing else, it would add some interest to a character design that Lego have otherwise given little attention too. Quote
Ultron Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 And you can't print hands. I suppose it is more concise this way. Better to have none than have claws and make it look ridiculous. No, better to have the option than to have none at all. Quote
kevkipo Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 Looking really good! that Black Panther set is a must buy, as is the Airport! Quote
Bricky Dee Williams Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 No, better to have the option than to have none at all. You know, you're right, especially given Lego's marketing. They should've included them as playability for children, but also as extra detail for collectors/adults/adult collectors. Quote

When every Chima and Nexo Knights figure has it I'm left baffled why beloved characters like Black Panther get less love. I don't get it either. We all know these sets are all about the minifigs. Is it a strategy? Not giving their best fig, just to up it in the future and we'll have to buy our 33th Quinjet? Anyway, last year ant-man was my favorite marvel set, and i'm really happy to get a micro, mini and giant (ant)-man. I hope giant-man isn't all stickers. Quote
Bricky Dee Williams Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 Just a little tidbit: I was searching for the Avenjet set (76049) on Google, and it turns out "76049 Lego Way" is an address in Enfield, CT. in Lego's offices area. Quote
Khscarymovie4 Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 Really loving these sets. Only thing that is bothering me is that were getting another Quinjet. Besides that really looking forward to getting all 3 sets. (Anyone else find it odd were getting official pictures of Civil War sets that contains spoilers for the movie 2 months before there released. While with the Avengers Assemble sets they are loosely based off a tv show yet we get pictures for those sets only a few weeks before they are released.) Quote

Well, the pictures were not officially released. They were found on a photo storing website. So yes they contain spoilers five months out, but we would've found out sooner or later. The set reveals the inclusion of Giant Man. That's really the only spoiler, which is a big thing, but will surely be marketed anyways. Quote
Aethersprite Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 I'm glad I don't yet own a Quinjet, but I do hope the new one has at least a decently sized interior despite its small size. Quote

Because Winter and Spring sets are released only 3 months apart the info for both of them come out usually around the same time. It's the long gap between the Summer and Winter sets that makes it feel like no pictures are released besides rumors because that's all there is at that time. Quote
Bricky Dee Williams Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 I'm thinking maybe Batman legs would look good. Dual molded black on gray? You know, at could definitely work. Thinking about it, the look would flow, dark grey minitari pants with black boots. Great idea! Quote
