kevkipo Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 The sets look good although I'm not convinced on agent 13, she looks quite plain in all honesty. That's because she is bland! Her whole character is! the only spy is Black Widow Quote
Quicksilver Posted January 14, 2016 Author Posted January 14, 2016 (edited) Has anyone been able to find the Iron Man vs Loki Juniors set in stores yet? Edited January 14, 2016 by Quicksilver Quote
Numbuh1Nerd Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 As much as I would've liked a new face, I don't think I mind the Star-Lord one all that much. It works fine, and I think he's gonna be a bit more smirky in Civil War. There's a lot of new prints and stuff going into these figures, I can live with this. Cap's hair on the other hand... The 2012 Robin hair IS his hair. Why is it so hard for them to just give him that hair? Why? Quote
Butterfingers27 Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 Cap's hair on the other hand... The 2012 Robin hair IS his hair. Why is it so hard for them to just give him that hair? Why? Yep. Just flip the part to the other side, and it's perfect. Quote
IMBATMAN Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 Actually the Superman hair piece does suit Cap quite well. It's just that the hair is too high for cap. Quote
N_Cat Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 Just watched J2G's video. Scarlet Witch 100% has a cloth piece at her waist. You can see it stick off of her in the box image. Oh, yes, you are completely right. Sorry to have suggested otherwise. Quote
Ultron Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 I must be one of the only ones to like the hairpiece for cap. At least it's an exclusive and rare one if you don't like it Quote

Completely disagree, his hair isn't combed to the side, (Picture by Payton aka Nexus) Also take a look at Giant-Man's hips, am i the only one seeing a gap there? Is it so the legs can move? Marvelous Spidey Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 I noticed that as well. I imagine it is for leg movement, but I still don't like it. They could have at least made the gap smaller. I take that back, it is there but I'm not sure they could make it any smaller without affecting the ability to move his leg. I wish they would have covered it from the side though. Quote

Winter Soldier, his hair is really short, so the combover doesn't happen. Edited January 14, 2016 by Captain Nemo Don't Quote Pictures Quote

adotnamedstud Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 Completely disagree, his hair isn't combed to the side, (Picture by Payton aka Nexus) Yeah, I love using that hair for Cap. It's really quite fitting and it's such a common mould. I don't know why LEGO refused to use it on Cap, I really want to know what their process is on this. It's pretty clear that Cap's hair can stay the same color in the films, blond. The style can change but it's just funny to see that they're so keen on using an inaccurate hairpiece. Oh well, thanks for using my picture too. That kinda freaked me out looking at the forums and seeing some of my work, haha! Quote

Indeed, and good work must be shown I will use this Hairpiece as soon as i require it, You are one of those people who come up with great Purist customs for when i need a little extra on my figure But, he has had it in the past. tafkatb Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 LEGO submits all licensed minifig designs to the licensor for approval before they go into production. So, they're keen on using that part because Marvel is keen on using that part. Quote

JaseTJ Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 (edited) Is it only me or did the new Airport battle set's images just deliver a MASSIVE spoiler for the movie? (no pun intended) Honestly, I'd expect Giant Man to show up in a trailer somewhere in here (assuming they release a second one. Which I just realized... there's only been one Civil War trailer, hasn't there? o_O ) Yeah, I love using that hair for Cap. It's really quite fitting and it's such a common mould. The style can change but it's just funny to see that they're so keen on using an inaccurate hairpiece. While I prefer tan or dark tan, Chris Evan's hair really is slightly reddish blonde (depending on the camera angles), so I can understand the use of nougat. I don't like the design of the new hairpiece for Cap anyways, so I'm fine with continuing to give him dark tan Mutt's hair (It's so unfortunate they only made that piece in tan in a single CMF... Which I picked up, and that ended up being the one I gave to my friend <_<) Then how come Vision has a blue stone?? Would Marvel really approve that?!? Prelim art is clearly all Lego has ever had to go off of. They have to design the sets too far in advance to worry about the characters being that degree of accurate, as evidenced by Hawkeye and Scarlet Witch. Both had hairpiece issues that were fixed for their second Minifig appearance. If we get another Vision, which I'm sure we will eventually--even if we have to wait for Infinity War--I'm sure the stone color will be fixed. Edited January 14, 2016 by JaseTJ Quote
Marvelous Spidey Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 Ok, I can't post the link for some reason, but Merchoid have said the Spider-man hoodie is a design provided by Marvel, but Marvel didn't say it was Spidey's official CW look. They've also released a full look at it a day early. Comicbook.com has a story up about it. Quote
Sir Gareth Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 (edited) In comparison with the source material, the medium dark flesh color and slicked-back hairstyle are both accurate, at least in my opinion: Possible first look at Spider-Man's Civil War costume design: http://comicbook.com/2016/01/14/new-spider-man-hoodie-officially-revealed-is-this-his-captain-am/ Edited January 14, 2016 by Sir Gareth Quote
tafkatb Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 Yeah, I don't think most people here really grasp just how far in advance this stuff is planned out, and just how much can change in that time. Quote
NXS7 Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 On the subject of the Spider Man hoodie, not at all keen on how the webs are. Hope both LEGO and Civil War won't include that. Wouldn't mind the costume is only the prototype costume, then Spidey changes into a more comic accurate suit Quote
Butterfingers27 Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 Does anyone know what Cap's dual face looks like? He needs to have a stern look, and hopefully that's the other side. Quote

Yeah, I don't think Marvel micromanages quite that much- heck, I doubt they even know Lego's part inventory that well. At this point, they know what Lego does and how they do it. I'm sure that for the most part they just give Lego concept art and say, "Make characters x, y and z doing activities a, b and c. We want to merchandise them heavily, and then we'll sign off on it in a month once you have your prototypes." I presume Vision's redesign happened late in the game, after certain toys were designed and signed off on; even in some of the behind-the-scenes footage, Paul Bettany is in makeup with a blue stone.
