teletraanconvoy Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 It does look like a different variation of the classic Doc Ock. Quote
Ezekiel2517 Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 So does Kraven have Superman's new hair? That new fur piece could've been used for Sabertooth. It is absolutely perfect! Quote
Legocity2713 Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 I guess but he is just an old man can't really do much with that. I gave my purist version the Doc Ock set police officer's torso and leg combo with Loki's head and Tony Stark's hair in grey. Stacey was always older but he was never nursing home material. The bridge would be much better without those grooved bricks. The sides should be dark gray with masonry bricks in certain spots and the columns should be a lighter gray. The maroon can stay for some color. I would love to MOC it up but $200 bucks for two (AND $100 FOR ONE!) is a little insane. Quote
Sir Gareth Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 I guess but he is just an old man can't really do much with that. He deserves a properly colored and styled hairpiece, along with a wiser head, not the rehashed Doctor Who hairpiece and whimsical Doc Brown face he received. I'd also prefer a brown suit over the police uniform. Quote

Yeah it is based off this version of him I gave my purist version the Doc Ock set police officer's torso and leg combo with Loki's head and Tony Stark's hair in grey. Stacey was always older but he was never nursing home material. That actually sounds pretty cool I may have to try that someday, do you remember where you got the hair? Quote
8BrickMario Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 Am I crazy for saying I want the bridge set entirely for that wonderful Green Goblin? He's great! I know I'll get the Ghost Rider set, but until I see a good closeup, I'm not totally sold on Hobgoblin. Also, I can see the bridge being a useful setpiece. Use it for DC, Ghostbusters, or, with some tidying up, a regular city. Quote
NXS7 Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 That actually sounds pretty cool I may have to try that someday, do you remember where you got the hair? You can get it from Ultra Agents, cheap $20 euro set, great build Quote
BlueberryWaffles Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 The team who are making the Marvel sets are on a roll this year! These sets look amazing! Ghost Rider set- We finally get a Ghost Rider minifig, and he looks perfect. Love that new flame head piece. And I'm pleasantly surprised by the bike, after initial reports I thought it would be comically over sized. It's a little too big, but I think it really fits. Hobgoblin looks quite good, as well as his little glider. The street corner looks like a bigger version of the one in Karai Bike Chase from TMNT except bigger. Spidey's web piece is wonderful, but I'm disappointed that he doesn't have dual molded legs. I'm going to need to order a ton of those off of Bricks and Pieces when it goes back online. Doc Ock Mech set- I'm a sucker for mech sets. And this is no exception. I love how huge the central section is, along with those tanks on top. The arms are a little small, but they kind of fit Dr. Ock IMO. Speaking of Dr. Ock, I love the classic look he has. Along with those dual molded legs, I'll need to get another pair for Iron Fist. Happy about White Tiger, but I hope she gets ears by the time the set comes out. Likewise, Vulture is perfect except he needs that frilly collar piece. Lucky I accidentally got about three of those minifigs back in Series 8. Love the little cop boat with Captain Stacy. Spidey: love the new web piece, hate that he still has blue legs. Bride Battle: Holy crap this set is good. The bridge itself looks very good. That taxi is cute too. I needed a taxi for the Taxi Ghost from the GB Firehouse. Love love all the webbing. Nets, traditional rope webs, new webbing pieces, and classic spider webs. We get three Spideys as well. Ben Reilly has his signature hood and web shooters printed on his arms! Spider Girl looks accurate as well. Stupid normal Spidey still has blue legs. Kraven and Scorpion are great to finally have and look great too. And classic Green Goblin has finally been perfected. Love that glider too. Quote
Legocity2713 Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 That actually sounds pretty cool I may have to try that someday, do you remember where you got the hair? The Thanksgiving Vignette that just came out in late 2015. I think its one of the cheapest ways to get it. However it is sold out and past its seasonal prime so your best way to get it is... You can get it from Ultra Agents, cheap $20 euro set, great build Yep. Quote

Marvelous Spidey Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 I'm still really hoping/thinking there's another minifig in that taxi. LEGO almost never makes a superhero vehicle with more seats than it has to have, so why make it with two for just Aunt May? (I'm assuming she's 'supposed' to be in there). Unless Kraven has abducted her in the taxi it just doesn't sit right with me. Quote

Thanks. As for anyone else attending the fair: please oh please have a look in the taxi! Gwen, are you in there? Quote
strangely Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 Doesn't look like anyone's in the taxi unfortunately (At least it appears that way in the close-ups). The lack of Gwen is seriously puzzling. I'm hoping she shows up in a polybag or in an exclusive of some sort (Whether it be by set, DVD or book). She's becoming a more and more obvious hole in the Spider-man line-up, especially now that we have her father of all people. Makes me a bit paranoid, it seems like she has to show up sooner or later. I almost want to suggest she's in that fourth Civil War set, maybe she's had a cameo in that movie all along and that's where she's been hiding. Granted that's really unlikely. So I'll just go back to hoping for polybags... Quote

Why is there even a 4x4 on the Brooklyn Bridge? Quote
rob-ot5000 Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 (edited) Neither one would fit overtop the wing piece though (I already tried the ruffle.) Ah. Yes. Makes sense! On an unrelated note, I went to Game Stop this evening and picked up the Avengers video game and the Silver Centurion Iron Man. I gotta say, for as great as he looks, I'm a tad disappointed. The Silver Centurion suit was always one of my favorite comic book suits. In my opinion, this minifig actually has too much printing. That's a rare complaint, I'm sure, but it's true for me. I prefer comic-based designs over movie-based, generally, and for this guy, the movie-influenced printing, while incredibly detailed and great for a movie-version, is way over-complicated compared to the cleaner comic-version. Another minor gripe is the effect of the overly bulky printed tiles for the armor. Again, the printing looks fantastic, but they add too much mass in certain places. His arms look far too skinny when they are down at his side. Again, a very minor complaint. All in all, the figure is gorgeous, if not exactly what I want. I will say that the photo on the packaging is wonderful, and taken at what is surely the most flattering angle and pose possible. The photo worked wonders in selling me on this figure, and even in person, when posed in a dramatic flying position, all flaws are forgiven. And that black eye for Tony is just wonderful I give a solid 3.762 out of 5. I asked the clerk if it was possible to buy a second promo fig, so she checked the inventory and compared them to the number of pre-orders, then just handed me another! gmcoulton Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 Cannot wait for these sets... or should I say minifigs as I don't really collect sets themselves Quote

Ugh, I wish I'd had the guts to at least ask. He was trying to sell me on other stuff I didn't want, and I didn't wanna come across as greedy... Also, I suppose there is a Spidey movie coming next year. Maybe they're waiting on Gwen 'tip then? Idk if she's gonna be in it anyways, but... Quote
Neomars Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 I asked the clerk if it was possible to buy a second promo fig, so she checked the inventory and compared them to the number of pre-orders, then just handed me another! Hopefully you didn't take it away from someone else. I got mine in the evening but I specifically had to ask because the person giving me the game forgot (he thought it was just a downloadable character). I also have a friend that works at another Game Stop and asked if I could buy any extra they had but sadly they only got 4 and gave them away quickly, even though 10 people came in with a pre-order. He said they are only sent what pre-orders they get early (months) in advance. And because people practically just pre-order a month or less in advanced LEGO doesn't ship enough. He said he would let me know if they get any more but I might just go to my usual Game Stop and see if they have any extra so I can sell them online give one away on my instagram. I think the sets are great in comparison to previous ones. A mech, a brick built bike (for a character who owns one) and a bridge are much better than that god awful "trike". Plus the superhero line has always been about the figures. At least the sets now are matching that level. Does anyone know if these are coming out like they did last year? August for America and June/July for Europe? Quote
Hero Bricks Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 (edited) Gwen could have replaced Aunt May or Spider-Gwen could have replaced Spider-Women... I'm surprised they didn't go with Spider-Gwen because of her huge comic debut! I think they missed the boat with that one There are defiantly some pros and cons but the bridge and Ghost Rider set are day one purchases for me! Edited January 27, 2016 by Hero Bricks Quote
eldiano Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 All i know is that I am going to be so broke, can't complain about the sets but between this and DC LMAO! Quote
wesker Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 Really impressed by the sets. The bridge is by far the best Spider-Man set we've gotten yet! I definitely plan on picking up a second to expand it. The line up of characters is fantastic as well! Its great to see so many new additions. Quote
benderisgreat Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 I love Ghost Rider set! New web piece for Spiderman and Hobgoblin is awesome! The only part about Hobgoblin I don't like is that his eyes are bright red , they are too bright! Other than that he look faithful to his classic look! Ghost Riders bike looks too bulky, but it's understandable. Doc Ock set isn't that great, I mean it's nice to get classic version of him, and Vulture looks awesome, but his mech looks meh... Quote
kevkipo Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 Guys, that new piece... that's not just for webs, it's a new invisible piece! YOU CAN FINALLY HAVE IRON MAN BLASTING FORWARD! Quote
Borex Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 Guys, that new piece... that's not just for webs, it's a new invisible piece! YOU CAN FINALLY HAVE IRON MAN BLASTING FORWARD! Or extend sandman's or venom's arms more naturally! Quote
