ToaDraco Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 I'm preeetty sure that IF this set is happening and IF it has Spider-Man in it, the reason we haven't heard anything is because of Sony, not Marvel. Everything having to do with Spidey in the MCU is a very delicate situation that Marvel is being very careful of, especially marketing-wise. Sony and Disney are basically co-rights holders and therefore both must be in on the decision-making and money-making processes. It's bureaucracy not avoiding spoilers. This is the main reason why Spidey hasn't been seen or mentioned in any marketing material thus far according to the powers that be at Marvel studios, though honestly I'm glad they can't or I fear almost every aspect of his appearance in the movie would be spoiled in movie trailers the way they completely spoiled the Hulkbuster in Age of Ultron. I know they showed concept art of it early on and it wasn't a secret or anything but it would have been nice to keep that big scene under wraps for the sake of moviegoers. They at least kept Vision under wraps until close to the movie's release. Quote
Bricky Dee Williams Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 Oh my stars and garters, what a beautiful minifigure! The printing is top notch. The arms, the side of the legs. This should be the norm for superhero figures!! You said it, man. Spot on. Quote
Aethersprite Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 Review of The Crossbones set. 25 minutes for a small set?! Is there so much to cover? Ugh, no thanks. I watch JangBricks exclusively these days, even if it means I have to wait a while before seeing a review. Short and sweet. Sigh, I really miss the days of good ol' text reviews. They're getting rarer and rarer each year. Quote
IMBATMAN Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 Oh yup. Falcon is trash, but still salvagable. I would suggest discarding the entire jetpack other than the stickered piece, placing a 1x2 plate on the studs below the circular place and then placing the stickered piece on top of it to make a sleeker jetpack Quote
Legocity2713 Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 Does anyone know the Brickseek Walmart numbers for Civil War sets or Mighty Micros? I already checked local Targets, maybe its time to broaden our horizons? Quote

Falcon's alright, but that Redqing is absolute garbage. And the lack of printed legs is really getting on my nerves. Just a few extra images from NYTF at BZPower, they've got pictures of all this year's sets (minus Doc Strange and the 4th CW set, of course): http://bzpower.com/story.php?ID=8374 Quote
Neomars Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 Does anyone know the Brickseek Walmart numbers for Civil War sets or Mighty Micros? Didn't think there was a pattern to these but there was. And apparently all my local Walmarts have all the sets. Wonder who I have to talk to to see if I can get them. I tried at my Target today but they guy who told me they would be out today said "Sorry haven't seen them out yet. Try again on Monday." So I called when I got back in my car and had someone check the back. Sadly they wouldn't sell to me because they had the street-date signs on the box. So I'm hoping Walmart is more lenient, I'm just not sure how to go about it. Anyway here are the Product IDs Civil War 47335810 - Superhero Airport Battle 47335811 - Black Panther Pursuit (Again this one is a guess. It doesn't bring anything up on Brickseek but its the only logical choice, seeing as its right in-between the two other Civil War sets) 47335812 - Crossbones Hazard Heist Mighty Micros 47348013 - Flash vs. Captain Cold 47348014 - Hulk vs Ultron 47335813 - Batman vs. Catwoman 47335814 - Gotham City Cycle Chase 76053 47335814 - Spider-Man vs. Green Goblin 47335816 - Robin vs. Bane 47335817 - Captain America vs. Red Skull Quote
Bricky Dee Williams Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 Thanks for the hard work Neomars, best of luck to you! Quote

Mine has had Airport Battle, and a couple of mighty micros out for a week with no sign of the others, but talking to a stocker there they are 20 to 30 toy deparment pallets behind with more coming in regularly. And the pallets are just a random bunch of boxes that are then shrinkwrapped together, and dumped in their department (Which means maybe overnight they hit the right ones, or maybe they don't). It's a great system for getting things early, when stockers don't pay attention to dates and just put whatever they open on the shelves. But it's a frustrating system when you want to buy something they have and they tell you I'm not going through every single pallet. Best of luck on your hunt :) Quote

Butterfingers27 Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 Ugh; the Crossbones set just went from "maybe" to "buy Falcon on secondary market". Pictures didn't do much for that set to begin with, and now that reviews are out, it's sunk even farther. Quote
Ultron Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 Yeah I'm really disappointed with falcon. He needs leg printing really badly. I don't know what they were thinking. I'm probably gonna stick with comic falcon for my superhero display Quote

kevkipo Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 So, i only want the Airport set, and Black Panther, But i guess the Lego store doesn't have any yet right? Quote
Bricky Dee Williams Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 So, i only want the Airport set, and Black Panther, But i guess the Lego store doesn't have any yet right? Yeah, being a direct store under the Lego name/brand, they tend to stick pretty strictly to street release dates. Though not necessarily MSRPs. (Looking at you NYC stores!) Quote
Butterfingers27 Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 I'm gonna try the local Wal-Mart's in my area. Have had no luck at Target yet Quote
1980-Something-Space-Guy Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 (edited) In my case, even if the figures in the Crossbones set aren't great, the fact that it's a small set with figures that are not being well received will probably mean we'll see lower prices on them in the aftermarket, maybe even $6. If that were the case, I'd pick up the figs. Edited February 20, 2016 by BrickHat Quote

Risgrynsgrot Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 Ugh that Crossbones set is a real stinker. AoU Black Widow is really disappointing, and Falcon and Crossbones with unprinted DBG legs look awful. I've gone from wanting all 3 sets to only getting the airport set and bricklinking Black Panther, skipping Crossbones altogether. I've collected every single non-comic con Marvel minifigure so far but the crappy mighty micros have made me stop. Quote
Butterfingers27 Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 I'll get the Black Panther set and the Airport set, but it's a no go on the Crossbones set. Quote
Amazing Bricks Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 (edited) The crossbones set is good for anyone who hasn't gotten the quinjet set black widow from last year and anyone who wants Finns hair piece in a cheap set. It's good for me because I don't have that black widow variant, Finns hair piece and the set isn't half bad. I understand those who are mad about it. Falcon is a let down, but I find the pieces he has very useful. His face is a perfect representation of Anthony Mackie. The hair isn't accurate, but it works for me. Crossbones was based on early concept art, so it's not accurate. I do like how it works for a comic variant. Its a good value for me. Edited February 20, 2016 by amazingbricks Quote
